You can also use crit coils on your bow if you don't want to be as reliant on your valor surge. The only thing that sucks is the sludge cost on those arrows!
@@jedimindtrick75 your damage doesn't drop severely. With no valor surge you are looking at a crit on almost every shot, even with no increased damage coils that's around 2500 damage per arrow. With valor surge you open up the chance to swap to Ranged Master instead of the crit boost which doubles your damage. The high Crit chance outside of Valor surge means reliably one shotting many small and medium size machines every time.

@@jedimindtrick75 you can use 5 crit coils for an 80% to crit on every arrow (no valor surge). Alternatively you can use any combination of crit chance and long range damage coils you want. I think the optimal combination of these coils is 3x crit chance and 2x long range damage. This gives you a 50/50 chance of critical strike at 50% increased damage. If you're relying on the valor surge you can use one crit chance coil and 4 long range damage coils. This puts your crit chance at 90%, but lowers your crit chance significantly outside valor surge.
Would it be better to load up the crit chance coils and use Ranged Master valor surge? 80% chance to crit from the coils + 5% base + 100% damage from the surge with focused shot...vs 125% damage from long range coils and 75% chance to crit from surge. I suppose it's comparable.
This is a brilliant question. I personally think that, for maximizing damage output, your best best would be to load up your Ivir's Downfall Sharpshot Bow with just two critical damage coils and have the remaining 3 slots be 3 long range coils. That way, you gain 75% long range damage boost along with a guaranteed critical whenever you use focused shot with critical boost active. For chainburst, you might wanna consider completely coiling all 5 with critical chance coils. What do you think Sir?

I think I was expecting something a bit more at this point. Elite Precision Arrows only having 50 more strength & being INSANELY expensive to craft really makes them not worth using with anything other than Powershots. I much prefer the typical stacking of Stealth Ranged, Low Health Ranged and Mounted Archer along with Powershots for when using Elite ammo. I'd still put a bunch of Crit coils on it tho for that sweet 2.5x damage, which stacked w Powershots along w Double Notch would be just killer. Am sure the damage could get over 10k with that combo, and you don't have to craft that shitty Elite ammo which should be at least 80 points or more stronger not just 50. And you should get 5 arrows per craft not just 3.

Neither does sustained burst on the bolt blaster. As Gamer JayZ undoubtedly realized, powershots limits you to ONLY 5 shots that deal double damage and never crit. On the other hand, critical boost nets you at least 15 shots (how fast can you draw?) with every single shot dealing more than double the damage (2.5 to be precise). There are two problems with this bow. The first is that there is presently a bug that does not grant the brittle damage bonus to this weapon. Several reports have already been sent to Guerilla so let us see how that pans out. But for now, using brittle with this bow is pretty much pointless. The second problem is what you have already pointed out...the insane cost of this elite arrows. 3 volatile sludges for JUST 3 measly arrows? Really Guerilla? But to me, that isn't much of a problem as there as so many easy ways to farm volatile sludges and it is not like you are using this bow to take out every single small fry machine. My recommendation is that you coil this bow with 2 critical chance coils and 3 long range damage coils and only stick with focus shots with critical boost active. For chain burst, just use all your long range coils on your tried and true BrawlBreaker with Sustained Burst. What do you think my friend? :)

I usually use the Glowblast loaded w high ground coils since it has that really nice 40% high ground buff already on it & it's regular precision arrows have nice damage at 154 and are dirt cheap to craft. I probably should start using this bow & the build you suggested though as on Ultra Hard it would help to take out smaller machines from Stealth in a single hit. I am all about thinning out herds as best I can from stealth before I go charging in. If I can take an entire group out without being seen then I will always do so. This would probably help with that, even tho it pains me to even use Advanced Precision Arrows even tho it really shouldn't lol. And yeah I fully agree on the Brawlbreaker although for small & mid sized machines a full sustained burst may be a bit overkill, thus the Rain of Sparks loaded up w Crit coils also makes a great choice for using with Chain Burst, as is the old Blast Forge with Spread Blast since it also has a crit chance buff on it. I now save my Brawlbreaker for the big boys. I still use the Blast Forge for the tougher mid sized machines, using up close Crit hits w either normal shots or Spread Blast. I really love the Rain of Sparks too! It is REALLY strong with a Crit build & spread shot. I'm actually kind of torn right now on whether to use close range or long range coils on my Brawlbreaker. Both builds have their merits, and Long Range would let me save my Close Range coils for the Blast Forge as it most definitely works best w Close Range coils in the slots that aren't being taken up by Crit coils. But honestly I prefer using Sustained Burst at close range. Just a personal preference. So yea its a tough decision deciding exactly what to do w both of them.

lol, very good question man. Here are my go-to spots: RockBreaker Blaze Sac SpikeSnouts can give you 5 if you don't destroy too many components. That's why I tend to use acid on spikesnouts to preserve the volatile sludge. Bellowback refining sac. TremorTusk Amplifying Sac Any apex machine will give you volatile sludge so best to farm at night. Easy loot won't help you if the machine part is destroyed...which is why you should refrain from using braced shot or spikes when farming for volatile sludge. I am sitting on like 7000 volatile sludges so they are not that hard to get.
@@markopolo2916 I too have finished the game twice on UltraHard. Your go-to weapon for farming should definitely be the shredder gauntlet, specifically Ancestor's Return. Coiled it with Agility and at least one 15% concentration coil. Ammo for it is very, very cheap, making it practically free to use and it always nets you a ton of machine components on the fourth throw. I use it all the time. But ok, so I was off by 5%. With the Valor Surge bonus including the additional 15% when using Focused Shot & the 5% innate Crit chance there would be a 25% chance of not getting a Crit. If he's using regular shots then it's even worse as in that case he would have a 40% chance of not getting a Crit. Yeah I'm being nitpicky but just thought it was worth pointing out.
All legend max levelled weapons are OP when used with a valor surge. I’d like to see builds that kill quickly without heavily relying to valor surges.
