If not collecting parts then bombs and all are OK. But if you are collecting the part where its belly has to be intact, bows are probably the way to go.
With that weapon set, he could've beaten the fireclaw in just three minutes, using explosive spike throwers which deals more damaged when the fireclaw was under the elemental effects from the frozen arrows.
After frozen wilds i was thinking wheee I’ll never have to fight that damn thing again lol when I saw this thing charging at me in that forest i was like welp then it did that rock throw and one shotted me 😂
There are two FC's in this area, the other one (the most Westerly of the two) is easier because the terrain blocks it's attacks. If you locate the campfire that is just to the north and between the FC and the Sunwing site, fast travel into it and then head directly for that fireclaw. As you approach you will be in some mangrove trees - you will see the FC standing guard. You'll get a glimpse of it between two large rocks. It doesnt know you are there and even when alerted, the gap between the rocks is too small for it - it has to break sight with you and travel around the rock to get close, even then the mangrove stops the flying boulders attacks and body-slams. I used a combination of winterweave stealth armour (maxed), hunter valor surge, ranged attack, the braced skill and a maxed out forgefall with range/stealth and impact damage coils. If you want the sac webbing, you must not set fire to him or detonate any weak spots. I know braced shot adds explosive to the arrow, but the game doesnt register it as an explosive shot, From stealth and range, I put the first shot into his face. Drop a smoke bomb and vanish into the mangrove. He will fairly quickly return to sentry duty waiting for the next arrow in the face. These are very high damage shots, maybe 3000 damage each. It doesnt take long before you can finish him with plain arrows from the hunter bow and go get your sac webbing. I tend to aim for his feet, his head or his arse ...anywhere that is well away from his weak spots. Try it.
When i fight a fireclaw or frostclaw, i always go for destroying all the element sacks because if you destroy all of them, frostclaw will be permamently frozen and fireclaws will be permamently on fire receaving huge damage per second (150dmg/sec)
Completed about 48% of the game, unlocked few legendary weapons. Weapon choice isn't very simple in the sequel, it was clearer in the zero dawn- one clear winner in each category.
I just finished the game finally, massive n amazing. But I hated... Hated fighting these things for gear upgrades. Such a pain. Rock breakers also. Hit boxes are garbage even when you roll to Saftey!
An improvement I would love to see would be environmental damage. Imagine coming back to a fire claw battleground to see all the trees leveled, the grasslands torched beyond repair and the skyline still burning a fresh orange. Then you think to yourself: "I was here"
For these big machines I usually stand on top of a mountain or hill or hide behind a tree or rock and shoot from far. Works with Thunderjaws. Guys like RaptorKing are hardcore gamers wow.
The melee was disappointing in that game, even with the added tree skills and passives. I wanted to play a warrior the whole game to change from HZD and you still get minced by most machines, the skills are nearly unusable besides against humans and i dont even want to think about replaying the game as a stealthy build because of the forced open fights. Wished the warrior tree offered resistances and ways to climb the biggest machines to take a chunk of their health down from their backs
@@Raptorking12389 Thank you. You should make videos showing advanced machine kills like one shotting and like stealth kills on enemies. found the best way to get all its parts is to shock it and stab it 2 times it drops, and itll die faster, and ull need all its parts especially the belly that blows up with anything , but if u shock it u have more chances of getting it intact
My endgame strat was mainly explosives and that super shock attack in the stealth skill tree. 1200 dmg plus 600 shock buildup at max power. Also the precision bow explosive shot special attack. Made short work of almost everything. Ice is pretty op too
What's even more annoying is that you COULD go for the main weak spot which is the stomach but then you'll destroy the fire sac which is required for upgrading. You COULD also use braced shot for an easy kill but because it causes an explosion, it's possible to easily destroy the components making it non lootable so fighting the fire claw for farming resources is annoying af. Best and easy way to kill it is to constantly freeze it and then go for a full lvl 3 powershots or focused shot against the weakpoints at the rear while frozen for massive damage. Best to get the first hits by destroying the fire sacs ON THE SHOULDERS and NOT THE STOMACH. The sacs ON THE SHOULDERS don't even give you the fire claw sacs
When I first ran into a fireclaw I was scared. Even with legendary weapons and armor they still frighten me lol. Because the sac webbing is so important to get they take time to kill. But if it's just to get ammunition resources I use spears and they do 433 💥 damage and all I need is 2.
@@GamingGamer22 shoot the canisters off of its butt and back. And most cases the fireclaw is weak to frost and the frost claw is weak to fire. But if you use elemental, act fast. They can use their elements to heat or cool themselves off.

@@njramsfan30 same lol i want the game to be harder so i dont even care about all the overpowered weapons and armor
give me my bows and ill put some work lol
If not collecting parts then bombs and all are OK. But if you are collecting the part where its belly has to be intact, bows are probably the way to go.
i am still completing everything on the first game on PC. I can't wait to play this.
Do no one use anymore the sonic boom arrow that get a lot of armor out of the machines?
Fireclaws/frostclaws and Slaughterspines are the two/three MOST DANGEROUS machines in this game. Slitherfangs come close
Yea slaughterspines and fireclaws are true horrors in apex version
Wut, to me a slaughterspine is a joke because their weapons are either easy to prevent or very inaccurate
Slaughterspines aren't that bad, they're just bigger thunderjaws imo
@@c1ubfub771 thunderjaws looks bigger?
@@mackan0207 is that a question? Or?
I love how the bears look like they’ll give you the peoples elbow when they drop on you. 😂
Ho-lee crap. And I thought the previous fireclaws were terrifying!
In the hzd, I used to shoot some arrows at them and quickly hide in nearby caves like a scared little hamster
Try it.
Pain in the f.... ass to take down...
Remember that one goddamn frozen wilds quest when you need to beat 6 stupid fireclaws in a row

A true immersive experience for any gamer !
"They're Tanks"
Yeah....
*having ptsd flashbacks from ultra mode*
That's one hell of a firebender bear
When i fight a fireclaw or frostclaw, i always go for destroying all the element sacks because if you destroy all of them, frostclaw will be permamently frozen and fireclaws will be permamently on fire receaving huge damage per second (150dmg/sec)
And to make it even MORE challenging, you need to keep the sacks intact, because you need it for upgrades.
What was Guerilla thinking!?
I’m still way Far East after like 50 hours of gameplay already, it’s good to see these bad guys come back and on a jungle forest setting!
Glad to see this beast BACK!
Completed about 48% of the game, unlocked few legendary weapons. Weapon choice isn't very simple in the sequel, it was clearer in the zero dawn- one clear winner in each category.
Getting the sac webbing of these apex fireclaws was painful. Barely tickle them and the sac is so sensitive to damage
Then you think to yourself: "I was here"
Man you are a fantastic player! Great skills and so much fun to watch your vids! The machines are amazing and the gameplay is outstanding
That first move it does is the ultimate "fuck you."
Horizont logic : Fire burns water but not the trees.
These machines are basically bears.
For these big machines I usually stand on top of a mountain or hill or hide behind a tree or rock and shoot from far. Works with Thunderjaws. Guys like RaptorKing are hardcore gamers wow.
hated them in frozen wilds, and hate them even more in forbidden west lol
I see an Apex Fireclaw and I'm like: oh hell no-
Even worse when the blaze unit needs to be intact because of the override
6:18 gotta love the physics of this game sometimes
These fireclaws are fucking scary at night when they are on fire
Yup.
I still get shook after my first encounter in the frozen wilds
I can only ever take them down with traps.
Still have nightmares of the Fireclaws in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Watching this video was stressful
How'd you get the overdraw click on the death seeker and forgefall?? For me, it doesnt say that its one of its perks. Is it your coil?
It unlocks after you upgrade it for the first time at a workbench, but it doesn't show that, it's a bit odd
@@Raptorking12389 Thank you. You should make videos showing advanced machine kills like one shotting and like stealth kills on enemies. I like to use carja stealth elite from the arena cuz it looks better than the Nora Thunder Warrior. Even though its better, the stalker elite lets me one shot using traps and wires especially on hard mode :)
I am loving the purple on black. But it still would have looked good 8n Blazing Green.
even in the sequel the machines from TFW are still the scariest
This looks like that machine bear thing on Love+Death+Robots!!
The second most menacing and terrifying thing to fight other than the Thunderjaw in Zero dawn is even tankier here? Damn
What;s worse is that you'll need their sac webbing
Bloody monsters i tell ya. And they made us fight a fireclaw and frostclaw as the final boss in Frozen wilds DLC to think of the cheek😂
Me when I never got to play Frozen Wilds: Who TF put these bears in the main game?? Why is there a volcano under me now? Who in their right mind thought an apex version was a good idea??
I discovered one of these yesterday. Quickly ran away only to die two seconds later cause it pelted a huge rock at me 😂
Jeez hit that thing in the beginning for over 500 damage on its weak point and it didn’t even flinch…
Kind of rare to see them outside the snowy mountains
ive replayed zero dawn like 10 times again and again and ive been revisiting everywhere except their territory.theyre crazyy lol...i cant imagine em here
Imagine having to fight a apex fireclaw at ultra hard difficulty and needing to preserve the sac webbing 😂
found the best way to get all its parts is to shock it and stab it 2 times it drops, and itll die faster, and ull need all its parts especially the belly that blows up with anything , but if u shock it u have more chances of getting it intact
My endgame strat was mainly explosives and that super shock attack in the stealth skill tree. 1200 dmg plus 600 shock buildup at max power. Also the precision bow explosive shot special attack. Made short work of almost everything. Ice is pretty op too
Where can you find Apex Frostclaws then?
But if it's just to get ammunition resources I use spears and they do
433 💥 damage and all I need is 2.
I have no idea how to kill them without destroying the sac webbing
@@GamingGamer22 shoot the canisters off of its butt and back. And most cases the fireclaw is weak to frost and the frost claw is weak to fire. But if you use elemental, act fast. They can use their elements to heat or cool themselves off.
@@GamingGamer22 freeze it and just focus on its legs with just advanced hunter arrows. Takes quite a while but it's definitely cheaper.
