Mine arrived early this week. Had a few flights between the miserable British weather, I must say I really like it. I find I harder however flying slow. They might be full size gimbles but I can certainly get from zero to full throttle a lot easier and often without trying. My jumper T16 was more difficult to reach these speeds as it involved more movement to get there. If that makes sense. 🤣🤣
Damn Andy, I watch hundreds of reviews and have seen dozens of yours, and don't know how I missed this one earlier but you are always spot on, honest and accurate. Just got my Tango after much waiting and working my way through it. So what I'm saying is guess I'm going to have to become a patreon since you have been consistent and beyond reproach. Thanks, I'm an old guy and can use the help, I've always been pretty tech savvy but this hobby is getting really, well you know what I mean. Please keep up the good work.
What do you think about snagging one of these and when you want to fly whoops or anything small and not long range having the Betafpv lite radio 2 ? I ordered both today and am very excited!
UPDATE: It finally arrived on 5/30! Loving it so far, it was worth the wait for sure (what a wait it was). Oh man, I can’t wait until mine finally shows up! I preordered the Pro on 2/6/20 and am still waiting... so frustrating. Even worse , my Micro TX took a crap a couple of weeks ago so (since basically all of my quads are now converted to Crossfire from FrSky) I’m grounded. Any idea of how or where to acquire a Tango 2 currently? Even a used or review model? Thanks for the videos, and keep up the great work!
Thank you for the links you left! After reading up on GetFPV’s listing, apparently they have word from TBS that they should begin shipping to retailers around the end of April. So it seems like there’s finally some light at the end of this tunnel!
Sorry to break it to you, TBS announced on their Facebook page that they won't be shipping the units to distributors until mid May, so you likely won't get your tango until end of May or June.
Great review Andy. Love this radio and will be ordering one in the next couple weeks. Got to fly a friends of mine before the virus mess and immediately fell in love with it. I’m a pincher and it works perfectly for that the same as for a thumber.
Nice Review! BetaFPV has e.g. the Meteor 65 which comes with Crossfire and the Minimortal-T antenna. Very nice whoop which you can use with your Tango 2!
Easily my fav channel this. Keep it up. Feedback: Change the background and work on the lighting. Perhaps something more smooth and rustic. Content is A+.
Great review! I am really loving my Tango 2 Pro. They portability and convenience is amazing, but I do notice that the range is not as well as my full sized transmitter. However, I feel like the difference is negligible, especially when you consider the ease of transport and use. 🤠👍
I have also been thinking about buying this, but I already have two transmitters: Spektrum for the planes and the Nirvana for the copters. So I ordered the full sized module which I can put on both TXes, if I want to. Sadly it seems to be out of stock all over the planet, so I will have to wait 😒
Sorry I have not commented for a time but been in the dregs. I can see the main use of the tango is to place it into your small bag so your not carrying a large amount of kit. If your complaining about the power output you have missed the point of a small radio. Folding stick would be a must and don't understand why this is not default as this would again be the point of this radio to stick it into a small bag. Nice review
I really want to try a small transmitter like this and the x light. Also do you think putting a R9M in my Qx-7 would be worth it? I won one a while ago and never hooked it up!
Can't wait for mine to arrive. As a (noob) pincher the only thing that I'm concerned is the ergonomics but every reviewer says that this shouldn't be a problem. Any pincher here that can confirm?
Update ! they have created a multi protocol module Bay it's on V2 and V3 boards, if you have this board, the plug will be in the middle, right below the battery, then you will just need the bay add on, which is only 10 US dollars and any lite module. One more thing, if you don't have V2 or V3 board you can upgrade for 35$
Hi Andy I'm hoping you can answer this for me, I'm asking everywhere!!! Does the tango 2 have the find mode feature as found on the external modules. I'm wondering how find mode works with downed craft with a TBS diversity rx... Thx for your input to the hobby as always.
Fantastic review, Andy!!! 😃 It's a shame it doesn't have a external module option, but well... We can't have everything. Right? Stay safe there, dude! 🖖😊
Andy please help. I have Tango 2 and nano RX, the range that I get is definitely not 40 km, I get signal warnings at less than 15 km. Is there a setting to max the power to get more range or positioning the antenna better?
Noob question: With say, a Taranis, I know that if I go from USA to Europe I need to flash the firmware to use the right signals in the region etc - is that also true for crossfire? I spend almost half my year in the US and right now I just leave all my stuff there. Had a Tango 2 but it was stolen from a car..... got another one on order! Thanks as always
This is probably my next big purchase since I’m switching from the FrSky environment in favor of more reliable connection. Do you think this will be updated to a more standard OpenTX? Should I even care or wait for that?
had a FrSky X lite first, now i use the Tango II. I couldn't tell the difference from OpenTx or FreedomTX, apart from the the tango has the Crossfire menu before the FreedomTx menu. Quick n easy to change settings and My battery lasts forever!
Hello guys why is crossfire problem in tiny whoops? I Can see Flywoo Firefly 1S Nano Baby with TBS crossfire... Im new just learning basics so i am confused
The cheapest crossfire module is 100 dollars so if you don't already have a transmitter and extra 50 dollars is better than spending a lot more on a separate q7 / x9d or xlite
I'm using it for month +. Great radio. Comfy in hands. I hope TBS update firmware to fix power off issue. I have try all kind of radios, including X-lite and can't get use to it.
What issue is that exactly? The X-Lite is a good and versatile radio but the ergonomics are so bad my hands start to hurt after a few minutes of flying.
Dang. I REALLY want this but i only plan to fly whoops and toothpicks. They make super small crossfire receivers for toothpicks? I plan on making a babytooth and a tina whoop
I am waiting for mine over a month now 😭😭 By the way Andy, dont forgot about the Mini-mortal antenna. I got a micro rx with mini-mortal on a 75mm 2s whoop.
yes the current situation has made them hard to get hold of, this one didnt turn up too long ago the mini mortal antennas are ok but you dont get anywhere near crossfire range with them.
Only Crossfire, the hype about foldable sticks while every radio always had screwable ones and then this toy-like bad-gamepad style form factor...? Sorry, I just don't like it. Thanks for the review anyways, Andy.

Very helpful. I recently sold my Taranis and have been umming and aaahing over this. Cleared a few things up. Cheers.

Art Damn, that’s a huge bummer. Thanks for the heads-up, guess it’s time to swap a couple of quads back to FrSky to get back in the air until then.

Defiancerc had some 2 nights ago I bought mine and it's on the way!! Im a girl with tiny hands so I hope it will be good.
Crossfire folks rejoice! lol Nice review Andy, good job. Jeff

Rcmodelreviews has a video how to use the tango 2 to fly tiny whoops by converting the 900mhz signal into a 2.4ghz signal.
Looks good. Bruce Simpson made a gadget which enables you to fly micros with this controller. Great review as always Andy 😁

Cheers mc yes it's aimed towards a very specific market
same i like the form factor but i fly all types so need multi protocol. sticking with the t16 just ordered my usb-c conversion.
They have a plug for a module on the new pcb now

Yes in eu 868 is to be used for crossfire and in USA 915
You don't need to reflash your Taranis. Just switch the frequency from 915 to 868 and you're good to go.
@@tryhardfpv5351 Thank you!

Been waiting since 2/9 on mine. I'll probably receive it the same time we get "The Vaccine"!! Either way, I'll be happy.
trim is easily accessed by holding down the roller button, not perfect but it does suit planes from what I've seen
It's mentioned in the video but can't say I'd advise anyone use it with a plane
@@AndyRCchannel My bad Andy, didn't hear that.
Hello guys why is crossfire problem in tiny whoops? I Can see Flywoo Firefly 1S Nano Baby with TBS crossfire... Im new just learning basics so i am confused
Am i right in saying maximum legal transmit power (UK) for 868Mhz is 25mW?
I've been doing some r & d on this unit. Seems pretty decent. ✔✔👍
Yes definitely better in person than it looks cheers
can you unscrew the sticks for transport?
nice video, I had it but thought that the sticks felt too loose or too much play, went back to ix12 with crossfire
What? You must be kidding................. You really should have done some testing.
Weseng Westfall spektrum sticks and ergonomics are the best
Hi Andy! What would be the positive on this controller above a frsky controller with a crossfire module for around the same price?

You should be able to put the nano receiver on a toothpick yes
vmiget so d8 compatible?
the crossfire nano reciever is only 1g. Kabab uses them all the time.

AndyRC - in hindsight, do you wish you had learned Mode 2 for quads?
I did learn mode two for quads but I could always fly mode one better
