Thank you for answering my query about modes. You even opened it up to demonstrate how it's done, much appreciated.
You're welcome. Thanks for the question.. Best of luck! .
Great follow up. Thank you.
I appreciate the engineering that went into the radio. Seems way more robust internally than a t16. The ribbon cables are often not seated properly and people have problems with switches and the display. So for the price the tango2 seems very reasonable.
great work lee
Thanks for asking about the firmwares. I guess it should be easy to set up a basic Betaflight profile & KISS profile as found on the original Tango using Open/FreeTX.
Thanks for sharing!
nice video painless! can you do a video on how to set up the TBS multibind feature?
Really appreciate your hard work on these videos, thank you. Quick question, if I have a quad bound to a crossfire module in my T16, am I able to also have it bound to my Tango 2 as well?
I'm looking at the multibind stuff with Crossfire at the moment o stay tuned! :D
Awesome, Lee! Thanks a lot! 😊
Can you change VTX and pid settings via this radio using lua script? Thank you for the review!
thanks for this painless.
i have one more tho, how do you adjust the tension of the gimbals?
Full details in the manual.. Happy flying!
Thanks for this video.
I have questions about my tango II, the date on the menu Radio setup can't change to the real time after setting. Can you help me for this problem?
Is there any way to get the radio to display gps position on the screen in digital format ? ( The same format as it is captured in log) mine only shows the gps position as 4 digest on the telemetry page and if I display it on the telemetry screen under numbers, the gps coordinates differ from those on the Telemetry page.
Also have you had any luck displaying BF telemetry Lua on the telemetry pages. I can only get it to work by enabling it from the radio menu SD page .
Love your vids by the way
hi, i want to buy the tango 2 and I wanted to know if the gps logging to the sd is good and how can I get the gps cords in case i need them on the field, is it easy to extract the sd and read it?
I appreciate your valuable guidance video here, but in my system I want to have telemetry, So can you please tell me that do we have sensors like, voltage, current, GPS sensors available with TBS (actually I tried getting on net but failed) ???
Yes - it's regular Crossfire and a version of OpenTX so it's all pretty standard stuff..
Hey mister. Can I use it as a Slave via Bluetooth to my qx7s? Or does it have a trainer port? I was thinking the radio would be nice when I want to fly with my kids because of the form factor.
And if I remember the price was lower than the Frsky "mini" controller.
No trainer but it will talk to the TBS cloud...
Hey nice video. I need help.
My tango 2 binds with my tbs xFire nano rx but I get no stick movement at betaflight :(
With my taranis x9d I had no problems.
Do you have an idea ?
Depends how you setup the outputs on the crossfire reciever and in betaflight or iNav... see my BrainDART and Ardupilot/Matek builds for I setup both... best of luck!
How can I make my sticks loose and change my springs do you have a video on that ? Thx
ruclips.net/video/XbJlrG_IUDk/видео.html has a good link...
Hey! Hello, I have some issue with TANGO 2... don't recognise the YAW movement ... I'm doing something wrong or the RC come bad?
You need to contact the vendor if you suspect the unit arrived faulty... Best of luck
Hello! I've bound my Tango 2 with the Crossfire Micro on my TBS Oblivion, but get no response with stick movement. I'm brand new to the FPV game, is there some logic I should be following to "arm" it for flight?
Yep, see my Betaflight BNF setup video.. Best of luck!
If my TBS Immortal-T antenna is positioned horizontally on my drone, my Tango 2 antenna should also be in it's default horizontal position rather than turning it 90 degrees vertically, right? Thank you for the great video.
Yes. See my video on an alignment.. Best of luck
Please do a video on the latest version (Tango2) with multi bind, Bardwells video on multi bind is a little confusing and incomplete in regard to the Tango 2

Is there a way to have the telemetry data show on the display. I saw the last page is the setup your displays, but then I can't get those settings to show on the screens.
I'm still waiting for the full support in OpenTX to fix a few issues like this...
how do i change the outputs to match my fc? i have my tango 2 set to mode 2 but the throttle is one the right side still
Try the other channel maps in the reciever tab in configurator. See my BNF video for how I setup a Quad. Best of luck with it
Hi Painless: I have a question, can I plug a PPM input from my head tracking to the Tango TX? In other word, is there a trainer port?
I don't think it does. No mention of it in the manual either...
@@Painless360 Thanks. I read the Tango 2 user manual and did not find anything related to a trainer port. Thanks for your nice videos.
Can you buddy box with 2 tbs tango 2s?
I'm interested in crossfire. How easy is it to setup on jumper t16. Just not sure why I would want this if jumper exists
See my Crossfire series... Happy flying!
Hi buddy I use the R9M however I'm thinking about getting the Tango 2.. But as I have never used Crossfire before can you please tell me Can I use the ( TBS Crossfire Nano Receivers ) with this Transmitter. Cheers
Yes I can. See my Crossfire series... Happy flying!
@@Painless360 Thank you, Right then I will get one ordered and then start watching your series, so I know how to work the bloody thing once it arrives lol once again thanks
You're welcome! IMHO Crossfire is a vastly superior system to the R9M... I hope you like it as much as I do... Happy flying!
Do you think the folding gimbals might be an add on later, tough choice between regular and pro.
No idea, they are a slick piece of engineering...
John Sanders yes, you can buy the gimbals separately. 👍🏼
initiative as allways
This seems like a great radio but there seems to be fewer switches than a traditional radio. Would you run out of switches on a flying wing with functions like Arming, loiter, return to home, horizon mode, hold height etc?
Possibly. I don't think that was the typical model it was designed for. If you want that much, hey another radio.. Happy flying
By chance do you know if this radio will work with a GEPRC Crocodile Baby II quad? GEPRC says it does but I am not convinced (especially when I am asking someone via a chat line and I don’t know if what ever is on the other end is a real person). If not will the radiomaster TX12 work? Thanks!
It depends on what reciever is in the model... Happy flying
can you please show or point me where I can see how to set up the auto trim?
Do you mean Autotrim in INAV or instant trim in OpenTX? I have videos on. Both... Happy flying
Hi
I have a big issue with my new Tango2. I'm unable to bind any of my quad with nanoRX installed. The binding on the radio never progressed. When i use my Crossfire Lite (with screen on the back) i've no issue to bind any of my quad. And the update to 3.54 so.
Would you have any idea ?
No idea, I've not seen that. Make sure you're not pressing the bind button as you apply power, press it once it's powered up. I fall for that now and again! :D
@@Painless360 Thanks you saved me 👍 Because as other protocol i was pressing the bind Burton before power on the quad
How do I disable Trims? I have unticked trims on the channels I don't want trims to work, but when i press the rotary button to trim, it still changes the disabled ones. Example.. I don't want trims on Throttle and Rudder, but the menu still goes through them on the rotary switch. Thanks
That is the way that I know. There are a few 'oddities' with FreedomTX so I am holding my breath for full OpenTX support where, hopefully, all of these niggles can be sorted...
Having trouble with setting my end points on the Tango 2 in betaflight. Even tried CLI commands. The throttle end points especially are not changing to 1000 and 2000. Any ideas?
in cli: [reset rxrange]
Next check the end points of each stick, and once again in cli youll need to use those two endpoints like this: [set rxrange 0 987 2011] where 0 is the first channel and the other two numbers are the ones your sticks actually hit. do this again for channels 2 3 and 4, but they are numbered 0 1 2 and 3.
Matthew Walsh Thanks Matthew, That is what I did. It reset all the other channels just fine. For some reason it resets the throttle, just not to 1000 and 2000. Its like 885 and 1981 or something like that. I will try again when I get home from work. Thanks man! I really appreciate all the feedback. This radio is so new, I didnt expect much response. Thanks again! By the way. This doesnt stop me from flying. Just something I noticed.
On my pre release version I needed to calibrate it a few times before I got it spot on. Use light pressure to push the sticks into the corners and when it asks you to move the sticks as the final part of calibration don't move them to them limits.. Hope that helps..
Painless360 OK I will try that. Im at work so I will try when i get home. Thanks so much. By the way, I watch your channel allot. Great job. You are very informative and explanatory. Thanks for your hard work. I have materials for a tadpole and a gecko to build as soon as I get brave enough to solder it. My gosh a 16 x16 is smaller than i imagined LOL. I saw yours. You did great!
I have a ton of logical switches, warnings, mixes, throttle cuts etc setup in my taranis qx7. Is there an easy way to transfer all of these?
Yes, use companion when it's supported.. If you figure out a way to do it now then please let me know... Happy flying
@@Painless360 oh I wasn't aware companion worked for the tango 2 yet
Not yet. 'when it's supported : :)
I see there's no dials or knobs, so adding a real throttle limit (or anything else someone would use a slider for) would be a pain, right? Can the scroll wheel be assigned to an aux channel for this? Shame there's not at least 1 knob or slider. I know one of the 3 position switches could be used, but then you're stuck with only 3 configurable values. Thanks for the info.
Sadly not. Great question. Happy flying!
Hey thinking about flying again.. and saw comment.. God's talking. Lol Miss ya brother and best wishes always. Brought back some good memories.. God Bless my friend. My brother.. in my prayers always 👊👊💪💪
Oh 3 years!! Wow time flys... Too 😉🤪🤣🤣
hi is it possible to transfer models from a jumper t16 to a tango 2 . i'm thinking of upgrading to tango 2 but i have loads of models set up on the t16. thanks
Until the Tango 2 is supported by OpenTX companion it is not easy at all..
@@Painless360 thank you for the reply
How do I unlock open region on tbs tango 2 ?
No not into crossfire but a great video and interesting.
Hello, do I need crossfire receiver on my quad when I fly toothpick with caddx vista?
I don't understand the question.. What are you trying to do?
@@Painless360 I have TBS tango 2 and drone with caddx vista. Now I need crossfire receiver on my drone right? it will not work without it ...right? :D
Yep, unless you have a controller for the DJI Digital FPV stuff
@@Painless360 thx... I had dji controller and bought tango 2 so now I must add receivers to all quads 😀
Will it ever be supported in OpenTx-Companion and does it support the BF LUA Scripts that allow me to tune my quad and change VTx channels? Sorry Painless, a bit late to the party. :)
I asked about this last week and no news on when it'll be supported in Companion. I'll be making a video about it when it finally happens..
Ciao Caro amico sai...non riesco a capire perchè mi va in fail safe a 50 Mt...ho messo tutto bene e lo fà sempre ...tu hai una configurazione particolare ???'
io uso..868 dinamic power off region open 100mw Op Mode Normal...e mi va in failsafe....mi aiuti grazie....
Head tracker support?
Can you change the stick ends on the pro version1
No idea. Sorry
Ken Shipley yes, Wayne demonstrates it in the live lounge release video.
Can the tango 2 be used as a r car remote. If so how do you set it up. Thanks
Yes. See my cars and trucks in for tips on setup.. Best of luck
@@Painless360 do you have a link to that. I've tried everything I can think of. Tax and rx are both updated and bound. Green light on both and still nothing. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

No dynamic output power like crossfire module?
Sir can we copy a model from opentx radio to a tango2 and use both radios?
Tango II not yet supported by OpenTX companion. See my video on multi bind for how to use two radios with one model... Best of luck
@@Painless360 Thanks sir will look into it
My sticks are a bit off 1500 on the T2... How can i sort that?.
Run through the sticks calibration in the main menu...
@@Painless360 did that.. I think i need adjust in outputs.. Going from the tango to the T2 is a doozy.. 🤣
DARKRYDER7 same did that sort it out ?
is it based on potentiometers or hall sensors?
Answered on page one of the manual or the listing on the TBS website.. Happy flying
Could you make video for tango 2 vtx connect with nano rx and flight controller
Check out my BrainDART build series... How to do it is in there... Best of luck!
Hola Que tal como puedo configurar un tango 2 a un ala?
La falta de ajustes es un problema, a menos que agregues algo como INAV o Ardupilot al modelo y luego será mucho más fácil de recortar, etc. ¡Mucha suerte!
Hi, My controller says bad radio data on restart and I have to calibrate everytime can you help me please?
The radio data is stored on the SD card normally so I'd make sure one is fitted and OK... Best of luck
Pls help.me choose... crossfire tx lite module or tango ii? And why? Thanks in advance bro..
Both are great but for Crossfire the TBS radio is better. For using more then Crossfire the Frsky is better...
Painless360 thank bro.. i have t16 pro radio by the way.. so ill have to get the crossfire tx lite module then... hehe 😜
Can you use it with a sim? :D one last question for ya!
Yes. Covered in first video.. ;)
when i update it will i lose all my models

How to charge my tango 2 the lights are not working red indecator
If it's new then you need to let the vendor who sold it to you know in case you need it replaced..
im bought one like this just now. I plug in usb c and the another side in pc usb. im try use tbs agente online to update these firmwares. i plug one side in usb type and another side in pc usb. im try use tbs agente online to update these firmwares. During the flash process, my firewall block a download an/or update, and my tango 2 crashes. I disconect the usb cable and after 20 seconds i press the power button for shutdown this radio. Since this momment, my tbs tango 2 dont works. Nothing. 1- No recognizes the usb (without connection with PC) 2 -icant turn on radio, none screen signal and not sounds. Please, someone can help me?
There is a bootloader for times like this - team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/4000152716-entering-bootloader-mode-crsf-freedomtx
How can I capitalize in TBS TANGO2?
It needs an update to the OpenTX firmware. TBS are aware as I spotted this in early testing. No update on when it'll be supported in Companion. As soon as it is, I'll make a video..
TBS Tango2 pro + head tracker?
I don't think it has the ability for that..
Can you this transmitter for helicopter
No need to post your questions twice. Already answered....
Lipo seems like the wrong kind of battery for a radio. Who wants to bother with storage charging, etc, when you don’t use the radio for a while! Also when it’s fully charged how much will the battery degrade, or be a hazard if left for a while.
Lee,....as it has a LIPO in it..and your not "storage charging" it after every useage,..... wouldn't the battery,s life be very short?🤔
Lots of radios have something similar. It's easy enough to swap out if it did...
@@Painless360 Great news..thx Lee!
Just bought one 2 mins ago, through Quadcopter s UK..
Sending you a payment to your PayPal,..to say thx for your help.👍🍺
having OpenTX on a radio is a necessary bad. I don't use the 99% of it. I just bind my receiver, setup the channels and that's it.
Too bad you can't copy/share models across radios, or set a radio model via PC software, e.g. like companion-like programs.
Not until it is fully supported by OpenTX
@@Painless360 I heard you can copy model.txt and the model folder to share models between radios. I will try it later today.
Crsf.isnt all what they make it out to be and they are way.overpriced
What a joke from TBS. Can’t they just make normal radio. So not just those who fly drones can use it
Buy a Jumper T16 instead? Just because a product doesn't meet YOUR needs, doesn't mean it's a joke.
