Perfect label for the SID out of LAX. Almost reached Catalina before the left turn ;-) Great departure vid Jay! I enjoy the comfort of these -800s whenever I fly AS. Thumbs up buddy
I always love when waiting for flights to watch the ground crew turn these machines around. The 737 has to be my favorite aircraft. Really awesome quality. :)
Funny your comment "I'll be California dreamin'..." I'm from California and visited Chicago during January (I don't know how you survive the wicked cold), and now I wish I could head back to some cool weather in Chicago. It's winter here in SoCal and it's 78 degrees. Man... Great video!
Well... :P I enjoy both states but I don't think I could take either of them year-round as I love what L.A. offers but I also love a change in seasons and I am not a 24/7 beach dweller. I wish you folks some rain out there, I haven't been out there in a little while and I've heard it's very dry.
I had read your discrimination which had wondered the two airports were plus the football field, very nest to see from air. Excellent video footage from air.
Luv the video!! So, were you guys already at 10,000 feet by the time you crossed back over LAX after departure? That's awesome! Looking forward to seeing the landing at MDW. :)
Very well done! I'm going to visit L.A. in August too :D I'm going to fly VIE-LHR-LAX with British Airways and SFO-FTW-LHR-VIE with American Airlines :)
i do indeed! after spending 11 hours at ORD today i am planning on going to a giant airplane collectibles show tomorrow. truly a case of extremeaviationitis!
You are supposed to turn off electronic devices during takeoff and landing but I have three reasons why I used my camera. 1) pilots use all kinds of electronic devices in the cockpit (including iPads, etc.) and numerous GA airplane pilots do too without an interference issue. Interference is not a problem 2) the FAs want you to turn off your electronic devices so that you can pay attention to emergency instructions if there is an emergency. (cont.)
I had to do some coordinating so i was not able to simply go berserk filming whatever I wanted. sometime i will make a flight out there to L.A. specifically for the airplanes. This is all I got for now.
I realize I posted that airplane picture a while back since it was a neat shot but I posted it again for you to see. The 8612 shows up clearly on my computer. If you click onto the picture it will show the picture larger unless that only works on my computer for editing or something.
In response to Shane DD who wrote the following: "It's a Boeing 737-500 not a Boeing 737-800 fool" There are two Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800s in this video: N8612K and N8329B. They are 737-8H4s, which is the SWA version. Look up things like this in the FAA registration before so assertively making a laughing stock of yourself among all of us who actually study and use airplanes regularly.
i am paying pretty close attention to the flight while filming (obviously) and would be able to put my camera down and help others if there was an emergency. It would not inhibit my ability to comply with instructions. (cont.)
not everyone knows. ;) even i have trouble keeping up with the latest. get some good video of the BAW for me when it comes in OK? if I had the time and money i'd be out there to get the first video but i can't so i'm counting on you or some of the others. :)
Hey jay, in 4 days im taking a flight from CVG to LAS and it said the aircraft is a 737-800, and i saw they had AC plugs, is that for first class only?
wait....I know what I can do I will put up a picture on my google page of my plane with it saying 8612 by the wheel so you can see it. That first plane is the plane I rode in September how cool!!
Oh my god I saw the 8612 and that number looked familiar and I looked at the video of the plane I flew from Chicago to San Diego and the bottom of it says 8612. Doesn't that mean that the plane in here is the same plane that I rode if its the same number. Wow I am excited because then I was looking at the same plane I rode!!
wow that's so exciting. I know for sure it was a 737-700 aircraft and so if this plane in the beginning is a 700 than yes its got to be the same plane. Wow what a small world. I remembering watching this video before I flew and liked how you taped that plane and your plane and little did I know I would be on that same plane a little later. And then last night when I ran into this video again I realized that I know that plane number. wow that's so cool.
n310ea Probably not. As it is, Southwest has been known to freak out their passengers with too many songs, happy birthday shout outs and rapping safety instructions and what not, and I don't think passengers want to spend 14 hours on a plane dealing with all of that.
DZEyoyo123 perhaps that's what I mean by "interesting". It will be interesting to see how Europe would deal with some of the silly and frivolous ways Americans do things.... as for SWA's business culture,... some people will like it, others will dislike it. If you want to fly a sterile airline with no flavor we certainly have those too and they're not that bad actually. ;)
At first I was going to ignore you but I feel no person is too insignificant even though I am not always able to answer or respond to every comment because I don't always have the time. For calling me a "fool" you will receive the full treatment however as well as a notification to RUclips management of your account's behavior.
DUDE.....You and these friggin EPIC movies......MASSIVE EPIC.......
Thanks always, Ryan! I appreciate that you make time for my videos.
Perfect label for the SID out of LAX. Almost reached Catalina before the left turn ;-) Great departure vid Jay! I enjoy the comfort of these -800s whenever I fly AS. Thumbs up buddy
OMG!! ONE OF YOUR BEST VIDEOS YET!!!!!
I always love when waiting for flights to watch the ground crew turn these machines around. The 737 has to be my favorite aircraft. Really awesome quality. :)

yes! there are quite a few at MDW too.
yep! LAX is A380 heaven.
I had to do some coordinating so i was not able to simply go berserk filming whatever I wanted. sometime i will make a flight out there to L.A. specifically for the airplanes. This is all I got for now.

thanks jordan. i was in row 22 or so.
I'm not the biggest fan of the SWA livery (Even though I'm a fan of the airline itself), but for some reason, it looks really good on the -800
looks very good indeed! :) thanks for stopping by.
Thanx ;)
Great video. There is a pic on jetphotos (dot) net taken in Las Vegas of this plane.

my dog agrees that the SWA aircraft is a 738 and says "hello".
My parents were lucky to get a 737=800 when they were going to Arizona.
Cool bro!
I sure will! I will dedicate it to you! :)
not everyone knows. ;) even i have trouble keeping up with the latest. get some good video of the BAW for me when it comes in OK? if I had the time and money i'd be out there to get the first video but i can't so i'm counting on you or some of the others. :)
Have you got the shot of the departure hall?
T H N X, matt!
dude, what gear are you using? nice zoom and vid!
the FAA can't tell you for sure that they do cause problems so they just say "no" until they know for sure.
Un avión realmente precioso!!!!!
I've been to LAX before. I went there once but I was a baby so I don't remember what it was like
Hmm, didn't know SWA had ETOPS certified planes. Cool!
Yeah they have been making an effort lately to getting more ETOPS airplane s because they are stating an international service now
Nice !
power. air conditioning. communications. etc.
when I flew on this plane I sat on the left side in the 2nd to last row.
Sweet jay what seat # was this?
i heard the 737-800 is amazing inside
It's not bad for sure. The really impressive ones are the Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787, Thanks for watching, Cheyanne!
Nice airplane
im going to LAX in southwest airlines this summer!!!!!!!!!
😄😄❤️❤️
Harris Anwar im going to denver on swa this summer
Cool plane
Was it raining/cloudy?
Hey jay, in 4 days im taking a flight from CVG to LAS and it said the aircraft is a 737-800, and i saw they had AC plugs, is that for first class only?
I would check it out on seatguru.com. They could probably tell you better than I can.
okay thanks :)
Well I'm in luck, I'm in Economy Comfort, and it said they have AC plugs for Economy Comfort
southwest does not have firstclass
it was Delta
Does anyone know what is going to happen to the SWA special liveries? (California, Illinois, Florida one)
Not sure. I would think that they would keep them the same. I hope they do.
They're keeping them an putting them on newer planes as the - 300s get phased out.
Cool
nice vid going to orange county in a week
Nice
wait....I know what I can do I will put up a picture on my google page of my plane with it saying 8612 by the wheel so you can see it. That first plane is the plane I rode in September how cool!!

Southwest is AWESOME
I am flyin out of midway to go on vacation to Houston tomorrow morning. 737-800 flight 273.

Hopefully Southwest will fly to Europe when they get the 737 MAX.
now that would be interesting...
Thank 4 watching!
