      The Excel is nice but simplistic as investments are usually not that linear in nature. I started investing in MF 2 years back, and now I have increased my SIP 1.5x and will do the step-up after 2yrs and 1yr earlier, I did lumpsum.
      It would be helpful if you would Calculate SWP as per B7 of Sheet1

    I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2024

      Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.

    The market trend can turn around very quickly. In fact, the indexes often switch from a bear market to a bull market when the news is at its worst and the mood of investors is at its lowest point. I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

    • @Daneilchirs
      @Daneilchirs 5 месяцев назад +2

      True, initially I wasn't quite impressed with my gains, opposed to my previous performances, I was doing so badly, figured I needed to diverssify into better assets, I touched base with a portfolio-advisor and that same year, I pulled a net gain of 550k...that's like 7times more than I average on my own.

      This is a disappointing video. Anything which talks about beyond 60 years of age goes into retirement bucket with different set of risk. The following risks (serious) are not covered:
      1. Sequence of returns risk from markets. Early withdrawal from a low market can seriously erode capital
      2. Market crash. This is always a possibility and recovery can take over a decade. It can erode one's wealth.
      3. As one grows old, one needs more assurance given complications like dementia. The certainty factor has a high weightage.
      Though SWP is a good tool, this must be considered as one of the tools. For a very long period (say 30-50 years) especially after working age must consider exposure to equity ~50-60% (or as one deem fit).

    Just wanted to understand, taking inflation into account at say 8%, INR 1,00,000 to be as starting amount for SWP 20 years later will mean today's INR 21,000 Only.
    While the excel sheet works and is super helpful in visualizing SWP, while using the sheet please be mindful to enter inflation adjusted numbers to achieve a realistic number.
    Please correct me if I have misunderstood the math!

    50k₹ after 20 years is equals to 15,590 of today’s time (assuming 6% inflation). These number looks attractive but one should never neglect the current value future value aspect.
    Rental yield is still the better option I feel.❤

      There is a bug in this SWP video; what if a corona 2020/2021 or recession 2008 comes? You will be withdrawing more units and you can be for sure that there will be atleast 3 times in every 20 years the market will crash by atleast 50% and the funds will get exhausted because the number of units you are withdrawing is much higher in bear market compared with bull market. Also 50,000 Rs after 20 years will be like you are spending 10,000 per month now; you will spend atleast 5X what you are spending now.

    the only big problem here unaccounted for is inflation , so basically 50k after 20 years wont be same as today neither will be same after 40 years thats the main point that you are missing , which means that the min req monthly will also increase but still decent investment plan nonetheless

  • @soumyadeepmitra6795
    @soumyadeepmitra6795 5 месяцев назад

    One has to add one more layer of calculation for the depreciating value of Rupee before finalizing the expected SWP. Rs 1 lakh today is not equal to of same value after 20 years. So adjust your requirement accordingly.

      You need to create 8000000 corpus fund in order to get 75000 Per Month with a CAGR of 12% P.a
      You have a query related to Units Redemption. How much units sold require to get 75K
      For Example
      Today if 1 Unit cost = Rs 10 After 25 year with CAGR 12 % 1 Unit cost = 170
      If you want to get Rs 75 after 25 years sale is 75/170 = 0.44 (approx) unit sold
      Balance unit remain is 0.56 unit.

    I would like to add that the ₹ 75k income that seems lucrative now (when your subject is 25 y/o) won't be as lucrative when he turns 45. In these 20 years, assuming a 6% inflation rate, the value of ₹ 75k would be only ₹ 23.3k. And the example you took of never running out of corpus by withdrawing ₹ 50k/Month would be ₹ 15,590.24/Month in today's value. Also, we are increasing our income by 5% which won't even beat inflation that means that after 20 years you will be able to buy commodities/ things worth of ₹ 15.5k that in future won't even sustain. Only when he attains 55 years of age, he be buying things of ₹ 14,180 only.
