I looked at a lot of videos and found no help and spent 2 hours trying to complete gambler 9 in rdr2 I gave up. But than later I found this video which is the reason I was able to complete gambler 9. This vid really helped me thank you for saving me hours of pointless guessing.

Great video. I’ve seen lots of dominoes videos and the rules vary depending on the source. Some videos says the total sum of the unplayed dominoes is rounded up or down to the nearest multiple of 5 (e.g. 24 points would round to 25). Also, some say the winner of the previous round starts the next round, rather than having the starting player rotate left each round. Subsequent rounds after the first round can begin with any domino (though non-doubles would mean only 2 sides are playable).

Yes a lot of truth there. I’ve seen the round up/down by fives which makes the math easier. Certainly any domino can be used to start in the later rounds, as described in the basic rules video. All the rest is table preference and can vary wildly. Thanks for watching!

These are the rules on the phone app I play. I'm not sure, but I think if the first domino played is a non-double it has to contain a multiple of five pips.
