- In today's video I’ll be using the NEW! Paint Inlay from IOD called "Trompe L'Oeil Bleu". It's absolutely gorgeous and will definitely take your project to the next level. This Paint Inlay is only 4 pages instead of the typical 8 pages so a lower price point and the amount of projects you can complete is crazy!! I finished 5 projects with so many extra pieces for future use. Don't forget that each inlay can be used up to 3 times giving you a much more muted distressed look after each use.
I'm loving how each of these projects turned out and can't wait to hear what you all think!!

Pure lemon essential oil usually takes permanent marker off. And paint your chairs upside down first.

I'm blown away by this latest IOD release. I ran down to my stockist and picked up this same inlay in the brown tones for a headboard I just painted in a blush tone. So thankful I hadn't sealed it up yet! I absolutely love the stuff I'm seeing you and other stockists doing with the new release. So fun and inspiring!!

The easy way to get permanent marker is by going over it with whiteboard markers. Wipe repeat till it's all gone

I see that the paper ripped several times when you were peeling back the inlay. Is that because you used top coat? I know you can use them several times, but not if they tear, right? I've never done them, but I'm just trying to learn! Your first project turned out STUNNING! DON'T WORRY about perfection... If it's perfection to you then it's fine ❤❤❤

Trompe L'Oeil is French for "Fool the Eye".
What is in those graphics is fooling the eye?

Thanks for sharing your 'mistake'.. I went to finish a project I started earlier in the week. I applied big top forgetting I had waxed it 😮 it immediately was gummy. I was so sad because this was a gift project and I wanted it to be perfect. Oh well, live and learn
New to your channel. Really enjoyed your projects. Not being critical, just a preference. Would have loved the suitcase more had you not painted the trim and clasps. But that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed your video.

If you had used some AWESOME from Dollar Tree on that suitcase it would have come off. I have used awesome on a dry erase board that someone marked on with per minute marker. It came off easy peasy. AWESOME is the bomb!
Yep! The bread board is absolutely my favorite. You really made me smile when you "sealed" the paper of the paint inlay. You will definitely not be the only one to make that mistake, so luckily you could prevent your viewers to do it. We don't get the IOD products in South Africa and man! do I wish we did! 😏

Pronounce like Tromp Loy Blue.
It's pronounced Tromp loy... the French tend not to pronounce the last letter of words. It's a a painting technique used to give realistic detail and depth in a flat surface using highlights and shadows (ie light and dark colors) I've often seen it used as a means to make faux paneling on a flat wall.
