- In today's video I went thrifting & picking for an upcoming event that I'll be a vendor at: Antique Acres! If you've been following my channel for a while, then you will remember from last year I brought you along for this entire event. I can't wait to show you what items I found today and give you a vision of what I plan on doing with them!

For the vintage doilies and linens, soak them in some very warm water with oxy clean. It will whiten much of the yellow. I have done this many times.
A lot of people use ash trays for their paintbrushes for painting. The place for the cigarette is perfect for a small paintbrush and the paint can drip into the tray. :)
I think using the ashtrays for soap is the ultimate 'upcycle'. From grunge ashtray to lovely soap holder!

I have that little metal bike 😃, I’ve had it for years. It has a little tricycle that goes with it, it’s from Home Interiors. I still love it after 35 years!
I use some as soap dishes right now. They work great and people comment about them. Love them.

Using those ashtrays as a soap dish is a great idea! I love vintage ashtrays (never smoked a day in my life). Some of them are just super cool.
Ashtrays do still sell. Who knows what buyers use them for but who cares! I like them too!
my mom had that currier and Ives set. I grew up eating from it...and breaking a few too.
What a great haul from the bins! Loved all the doilies and the vintage cases. That glass dish you said had a 'F" on it may have been Federal glass.

Trophy looks like silver over copper. I would totally buy that if I was going to Antique Acres. Would be so cute in my equestrian room. ❤

Ive collected and sold tons of vintage linens. My opinion was always that if they couldnt survive machine washing i wouldnt want to sell them because nobody else will bother to hand wash. They are generally much sturdier than you might think. I used to soak stained linens in the washing machine overnight with oxyclean.
Milk glass🥰doesn’t matter if it’s an ashtray, so many things you can do with it!
The big F on your dish could be a Federal glass piece. Fire King is usually spelled out.
I saw you outside and I was thinking...is that snow? And I live in WI too. Just rain here in Janesville.
I've seen designers drape a fur coat in a basket, so it looks like a lap blanket, so it gives the basket a soft texture to make the area more cozy, especially during the winter months.
When I saw all that rain, I knew you wouldn’t be in the driveway today showing us everything!
I bought a whole tote bag of wooden blocks for my grandson. It was over $80. It had to be the blocks!
You find the best things! When you wash Vera, check to see if the cardboard bottom can be removed first, from someone who forgot.

LOVE dollies!!! Such love history in each one! How do you wash tbem?
It always surprises me but I have managed to get stains out by using Dial hand soap and warm water. I hold the fabric under running water and scrub away with the dial. I have also soaked linens in Oxyclean.

Glassbake is collectible. It was a alternative to Pyrex but it started in 1917.
A suggestion…I buy ash trays and use them for paint brush holders as I’m painting..tfs
I like Fire King pieces. Those are very pretty ashtrays- nice soap dishes.

I think the Italian chicken plate that you showed at the beginning is valuable. The THRIFTING IN VEGAS woman found a similar plate a few videos ago and mentioned that it was a collectable and she was asking quite a bit for it. A sign on the ashtrays might say "they used to be ashtrays now they're soap dishes."

Glad you spoke up about the price for the pillows. Goodwill prices have gotten ridiculous, sometimes even higher than retail. Many of my friends and I seldom go to GW anymore.

You could use the ash trays as soap dishes, why not. There is a new goodwill a d goodwill bins that opened today an hour away from me, I can’t wait to check it out.
Even if I knew or figured out those were ashtrays, they are super cute and I would use them for a soap dish! I think you just have to give people the ideas of what else something can be - ashtray = soap dish - and then you won't have any trouble selling them. :)

You can turn them into soap dishes. You are upcycling, lol. Also I'm not sure about where you live but I know here in my part of Tennessee that fireking brings as much as Pyrex at auction houses around here.
I don't see Glass Bake a lot but hey it may be more rare.
Those heavy whatchamacallits for the electrical would be really cool spools for Lace or ribbon. Or maybe as stands for some Christmas trees. ❤

Those crystal “floral” pieces are from Pier 1, $24.95 each, I donated mine to Goodwill after hoarding them for 4 years LOL NO! I got them on sale, did NOT spend that much!!! 😂

The casserole dish with the sunflowers and F is FEDERAL milk glass, not Fire King. You got some great vintage dishes. And I loved the "trophy" cup. I wouldn't change that at all.
I have that toile pillow (Waverly-Garden Room), along with the matching comforter, sheet set, and six curtain panels. That material is so great, very heavy and holds up.

Here’s a funny story. When I was younger stay at home Mom. Tupperware parties were the thing. When ever motherhood was getting to be too much. Like needing a break. My sister and I would say as (code ) for going out on the town. I think it’s time for a Tupperware party. Lol not going to a Tupperware party but going out to the bar. Lol 😂 we still laugh about that to this day.

You fur is a mink. Looks like it is stiff, which means it is drying out. My grandfather and father were master furriers and I worked for them many years. I love the ashtray for soap dishes. So nice to repurpose and a great conversation piece! Nice haul!

Brilliant strategy with those pillows! I wouldn't have paid that sum either. I like the colors but really not the fringe. The ashtrays will look more like soap dishes if you put some pretty soaps in them.
People collect ash trays. I don’t buy them but I couldn’t resist one for my booth and the check out lady loved it and told me she collected them!! Sell them for sure - someone will love them

The small rolling pin with the designs is a springerle rolling pin used for springerle cookies, they are really neat little rolling pins.
