I think the supernatural element of the world acts better as a background element than a main premise. The main story of the Dishonored series has always been about humans doing human things. Everything to do with the outsider and his mark was only interesting because the power he gave to the characters allowed them to show their true nature. The supernatural stuff should never be the main premise or source of conflict in the story. Dishonored is a series about human characters and their struggles. The whole thing about the void and the idea of gods was interesting as a hint of worldbuilding, but it should never get any serious focus. A story about giant elder gods would just turn into Lovecraftian horror, and that's not really the point. Even the whole point of Death of the Outsider was to turn the Outsider human again.
Yeah, I was kind of hoping for the Outsider to spend a few minutes giggling about how disappointed Emily and Jessamine would have been in his choices before concluding: "Of course, knowing that is part what made Corvo Attano, the Black Emperor, what he was: The man who could never kill enough people to silence the accusing voices of his beloved family in his mind!"
I did this ending just to see what it was like, and it bothered me so much I re-loaded my save and rescued Emily. For me, even w at his darkest, Corvo's 1 true virtue is his unselfish love for Emily & his belief in her as the rightful heir of his beloved Empress Jessamine.. Him being a bastard and leaving her in stone was a step too far for me. (I get very invested in video game narratives. What can I say?)
ScattySafari I get it, on one play through I killed Anton and I couldn't handle it so I reloaded from a previous save and didn't kill him, it just really bothered me because I was Emily and she would never do that to Anton no matter what, he's too important to her, it's more than a game to me, this I know
I could argue that, by the end of High Chaos, Corvo COULD justify his leaving Emily in Stone as an act of unselfish love. He's not taking it because he wants to be in charge, he's taking it because life generally sucks, and as long as Emily's in stone, she's protected from that. She doesn't know strife or pain. This is, of course, a horribly corrupt bit of logic. But if you get to the high chaos end, it's the sort of logic that makes sense for the character to have developed.
I played through without killing anyone - stealth run. Then after finishing I went back and did a couple levels killing everything that moved - was WAY easier (was also really satisfying after jumping through a million hoops to not kill people that really needed killing).
On my next playthrough I did use a mod which allows me to spam any power and I can definitely finish the game within an hour or two with just using Bend time + Wind blast. Feels like a skyrim game tbh lol.
I think the idea behind the name is because Jessamine was brought up with a "silver spoon in her mouth" which is an expression to signify she was born into a rich family and treated well. However, Delilah didn't have that upbringing, and was second to Jessamine in her fathers eyes, so she got brought up with something worse than a silver spoon; a copper spoon.
Outsider: every hero falls, every legacy dies, every city eventually crumbles and fades into memory. This memories we make eventually fade into nothingness. for Corvo the Black, this was the legacy he left behind in Dunwall
(read in DH1 Outsider voice) "And so ended the coup, and with it the legacy of the Kaldwin Dynasty. As the blood washed across the streets and the fires burned high, Corvo the Black assumed the throne, and brought his version of security to the Empire. Deliliah was dead, and with her powers gone, her Coven soon followed. The rest of the conspirators were hunted across the Empire, although during his time in Karnaca, Corvo had made sure there were hardly any of them left to kill. And the dear Emily stood, locked in a dreamless slumber behind the very throne she once hate being born to sit in. Cold and encased in stone, yes. But Corvo assured himself, she was finally safe. And would remain so, forever."
outsider: so basically, delilah came back because magic users wander the void after death, and she found the place where i got my power corvo: *sends delilah back to the void so she can do it again*
She got back into the normal world the first time because she was cast into the Void while still living. It's not just what normally happens to people like her, it's that Daud didn't finish the job when he fought her.
That’s why I love dishonored 1 so much. Your actions really feel like they matter. And at the end if you take the low Chaos route the outsider sounds like he admires you, and if you take the high chaos route he despises you.

I would surmise that his logic is: so long as she is stone she cannot be harmed, cannot age or die as Jessamine did. A protector-complex pushed to the point of madness.
The Corvo the Black timeline would be great for Dishonored 3. Corvo killed all of his friends and foes ( Delilah, Lurk, Sokolov, Duke) and claimed the throne of the empire of the isles for himself. Leading the empire with an Iron fist, waving war on Tyvia and others small countries. He becomes what he stood against, a lord regent with the mighty Powers of the outsider. The protagonist(S) could be a dishonored noble or someone Corvo did not manage to kill (Daud maybe ?) and try to overthrow him. It could take place in Dunwall or Tyvia.
I could see this happening only in an illusion Delilah uses in an attempt to seduce Corvo to her cause, which ends with his fatherly love winning out over his desire for control, and thus breaking the illusion.
Imagine this or the ending involving Corvo remaining in stone past the end of the game end up being the canon ending of the game. That way in the next installment of the series, it could be interesting to wake up as either of them finally being freed from your stone prison after all that time...
While I understand this ending corvo has been through so much that he wouldn’t have a mental break. I personally went high chaos no stealth in this game as corvo, I just don’t see corvo being as understanding in this game. In the first game it was set up to where he clearly looked guilty so it’s understandable people would turn on him. In the second game, there was no trickery, I believe that after seeing his daughter and her throne be stolen and all his loyal men be slaughtered “all bets would be off” In my play through I absolutely slaughtered anyone who got in my way, no hiding or running.
I did my clean hands + ghost run with Emily first, and after that I did psychopath Corvo the Black with Flash and Steel. It's surprisingly short and easy game when you chose to be bad, even with no powers xD
All I can think is "The new Outsider VA is so bad a child could do better" over and over. Kind of like the letter you find on Jessamine's corpse in the void.
@@PalashaGabarra I played as Emiliy yeah and got the good ending. I was just joking dude, chill. I feel bad with these NPCs as if they're alive so no way in hell I'd beat an old man and push billy off the boat
"Uh, emperor sir your daughter's still stuck in the void rock are u gonna let her ou-" "SHUT UP IM A GOOD DAD SHE CAN COME OUT AFTER THE BAD GUYS ARE ALL DEAD"
There are so many combinations. For me the hardest one is the Karnaca council with all the leaders (leaving everyone alive and not eliminating Paolo and Byrne) but in discord due to high chaos.
I've only ever gotten to play this one but i still think the Outsider's voice and attitude from the first game was so much better, like he sounded like he was reading a story or the narrator or something who spent the entire time watching how things unfold, here he just sounds like that uncle who's been smoking since he was a teenager trying to read you a storybook, holy crap.
Corvo at the end: I'm the emperor now! I order you to bring these traitors closer to me so I can cut them with my sword! Just don't you make me get up from my chair!
I'd love a Dishonored 3 but I don't know how it would unfold since the Outsider was removed from the Void or killed. They could certainly make a prequel, say that DotO wasn't canon, or make something else up going forward. A prequel or making something up would be my two choices.
Man, I really hate what they did with the Outsider's voice for the ending cutscenes. I have no clue why they changed it from the first game but it was unnecessary and makes me just want to punch him because of how annoying his voice is.
Man I ended up berserking my way through my first run on this game. Same with the first. Then I went back after I got a feel for it and tried to be as stealthy as possible
The outsider says with her behind the throne. What does that mean? What happened to emily? Also goddammit corvo. 2nd time you betrayed your daughter (talking about the total chaos ending in dishonored 1 and this ending).
If the writers had any sense, they would have made THIS the canon ending, with the sequel about Daud, Billie and the Whalers reuniting to take down Corvo and save Empress Emily again... one last time... The DLC "Death of the Outsider" could have still occurred as a far more logical and personal vendetta for Billie Lurk, without even having to change much, except a few lines of dialogue. It also would have made for a far more fitting end to the series...
"If the writers had any sense" bro Corvo would never fucking do that to his daughter lmao. Its obvious the ending was just meant as a really dark what if.
I want more dishonored! I won't buy the death of the outsider dlc standalone. However I want more dishonored series! The plot, the world, the people, the stealth, the combat, the drama, the tragity, the tragic romance between corvo and the 1st empress. The fatherly role to Emily. The fervent loyalty and dedication to his daughter and for her position as empress. Killing, ghosting, and hiding corpses to get to delilah and making her pay for what she's done to dunwall, his daughter and Karnaka (amazing name btw.) By killing her or beating her at her own game non lethal which is so satisfying. This game is not just a game, it's an experience.
Honestly, I think the two choices there make since for Corvo but not Emily. I also feel as if you should play the game as Corvo, as it would make more since if she froze the Empress and not the protector.
@@jaadedlook mate, it’s not our fault. The damn stones, the god damn stones. It just happens that every enemy we try to choke stands behind a very small, unable to see stone, that when we go and try to choke somebody we trip and accidentally stab them in the neck, in the back, accidentally decapitating their head, it’s really not our fault.
Not my ending but I can definitely see if corvo wanted to he could pull that off, he'd be the only one able to pull Emily out of the rock being the only one with the mark so he could just say he tried and there's nothing he could do to save her
Corvo and Emily ruling alone endings are both very very out of character. Anyone else feel this way? No matter how many people either of them kill the love they hold for each other and for Jessamine is undeniable so this ending is just so unbelievable.
its elusive...maybe he couldnt pull out emily from the void ( yea i know it said "take the throne" but maybe thats only in the POV of the player) in emilys ending its clear she can actualy safe her father no matter what end u take
If Dishonored 3 ever came out Corvo the Black should be the canon ending and the new antagonist. Just imagine Emily being revived by former and/or new allies, a new "Loyalist Conspiracy" of sorts and her having to travel through the Empire to find a way to beat her father and finally seize back her throne. She would be more justified to take up a high chaos ending and the high chaos ending would the most catastrophic by far. Just my opinion tho.
Only Low Chaos is considered as canon in both Dishonored and Dishonored 2 I achieved this ending with powers and 3 consecutive attempts at Flesh and Steel These were the upgrades that I used during my Flesh and Steel run: The Occult Kiss The Dealer The Determined Traveler Collector's Carapace The Expansive Lady Silent Sprint 1 and 2 Ammo/Bonecharm Capacity + 5 The Bonecharms that I used in Flesh and Steel 1. I did my clean hands + ghost run with Emily first, and after that I did psychopath Corvo the Black with Flash and Steel. It's surprisingly short and easy game when you chose to be bad, even with no powers xD
I did exactly the same! The second was incredibly fast :D
The "You stay Dishonored" ending
"You declare yourself honourable again. Nobody else agrees."
you couldn't edit out the load screen
Oh my gods, this is as fucked up as it gets.
Mary Recall gods?
N Bravender A Percy Jackson fan. Just leave her alone, she's a little crazy in the head. You know how those people are.
Presumptuous. Pagan.
Mary Recall They're just being dicks because they have nothing better to do with their sad lives.
All I can think is "The new Outsider VA is so bad a child could do better" over and over. Kind of like the letter you find on Jessamine's corpse in the void.
As Emily i killed Anton and Megan and left corvo in his stone figure, Emily the Butcher
Butcher? I just met 'er!
ruclips.net/video/9CdVTCDdEwI/видео.html
The game lets you kill Anton?
@@PalashaGabarra I threw a glass cup on Anton and he died, then I showed the body to Megan and she reacted to it so I pushed her off the boat.
@@broccoli4487 Gay. You probably play as Emily too because you're a weeb. I bet your whole playthrough was disgusting. You're doing it wrong.
@@PalashaGabarra I played as Emiliy yeah and got the good ending. I was just joking dude, chill. I feel bad with these NPCs as if they're alive so no way in hell I'd beat an old man and push billy off the boat
I've been playing this game for years and never knew about this ending.
"Uh, emperor sir your daughter's still stuck in the void rock are u gonna let her ou-"
"SHUT UP IM A GOOD DAD SHE CAN COME OUT AFTER THE BAD GUYS ARE ALL DEAD"
There are so many combinations. For me the hardest one is the Karnaca council with all the leaders (leaving everyone alive and not eliminating Paolo and Byrne) but in discord due to high chaos.
This is actually the best ending. But it depends how you define the word "best "
Look at Corvos face in complete high chaos stratches, dark shadow and more evil scary looking its littt
Corvo at the end: I'm the emperor now! I order you to bring these traitors closer to me so I can cut them with my sword!
Just don't you make me get up from my chair!
0:57 the game never ceases to amaze me i never noticed how dark and gritty corvos face is...
This ending doesn't make any sense at all. lol Cool that they give you the option though.
Instead of killing delilah I trap her in the painting. Because that sounds worse than going back to the void to possibly scheme for a new revival.
Damn, it's almost like these games don't want you to be a psychopathic serial killer...
Eh even low chaos is still extremely morally gray. Like in d1 the fate for lady boyle on non lethal is so much worse than death.
I'd love a Dishonored 3 but I don't know how it would unfold since the Outsider was removed from the Void or killed. They could certainly make a prequel, say that DotO wasn't canon, or make something else up going forward. A prequel or making something up would be my two choices.
I'd like a Daud prequel, building up his gang in a much more open Dunwall, and have the last mission killing the empress bringing things full circle
I did not even KNOW taking the throne for yourself was even an option !
I always knew Corvo wanted to be Emily’s protector for a reason besides she was his daughter.
only watching this because I know I won’t choose this ending when I get the game and got curious. OMG CORVO NO.
Man, I really hate what they did with the Outsider's voice for the ending cutscenes. I have no clue why they changed it from the first game but it was unnecessary and makes me just want to punch him because of how annoying his voice is.
Corvo shouldn't have been a choice considering how Emily will be a lame ruler even if he didn't slaughter everyone
All hail Corvo the Black! First of his name!
Played that game a dozen times and never got this exact outcome. Corvo the black.
kill every key figure + high chaos
Wow i didn't even know that this ending was there. And i played this game like 20 times to the end.
I honestly hate the new outsiders voice...
ronaldinhoisfat same :/
the French version is pretty good so im happy but the English one... I think same as you
The first one was too flat and boring but this one is too tryhardy.
Old voice: bored sarcastic all-powerful God
New voice: edgy emo kid
Thats what made him seem like the outsider lmao, bored with everything except the few that amaze him and is gifted with his mark
The alternative is Emily the Butcher with the exact same ending
That's great and all, but I think your subjects are so stoned they can't move.
Man... Corvo likes to stick it to royalty.
No he prefers to stick it into royalty. Thats how Emily was born.
Nice one ^
funnyblog100 XDDDDDDD
Dishonored 2 Father of the year edition
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
If the writers had any sense, they would have made THIS the canon ending, with the sequel about Daud, Billie and the Whalers reuniting to take down Corvo and save Empress Emily again... one last time...
The DLC "Death of the Outsider" could have still occurred as a far more logical and personal vendetta for Billie Lurk, without even having to change much, except a few lines of dialogue. It also would have made for a far more fitting end to the series...
Hell nah, Corvo's an OG
Despite how hard I tried to get a good ending, this is actually what I ended up with my first time.
Braydn Rea
How did you end up with this ending while attempting low chaos?
@@jaadedlook mate, it’s not our fault. The damn stones, the god damn stones. It just happens that every enemy we try to choke stands behind a very small, unable to see stone, that when we go and try to choke somebody we trip and accidentally stab them in the neck, in the back, accidentally decapitating their head, it’s really not our fault.
I got this ending in my first playthrough
DAMN I watched this thinking it was just gonna be like aw everyone is dead, I didn't even KNOW he could take the throne himself!
I dont know....the outsiders voice just isnt the same...it doesnt give off that strange feeling
I did the merciful ghost on 1 and what do I get, nothing. Kaldwin dynasty was broken. Corvo needs to seize the means of production
Best ending :)
NEVER saw this ending, such an interesting one 💀💀
"Your daughter is safe - forever"
Holy *shit.* I didn't even know this was a possible ending, I don't remember it at all.
Corvo recover their protagonism :V
Not my ending but I can definitely see if corvo wanted to he could pull that off, he'd be the only one able to pull Emily out of the rock being the only one with the mark so he could just say he tried and there's nothing he could do to save her
Corvo and Emily ruling alone endings are both very very out of character. Anyone else feel this way? No matter how many people either of them kill the love they hold for each other and for Jessamine is undeniable so this ending is just so unbelievable.
happiest man in dunwall
its elusive...maybe he couldnt pull out emily from the void ( yea i know it said "take the throne" but maybe thats only in the POV of the player) in emilys ending its clear she can actualy safe her father no matter what end u take
If Dishonored 3 ever came out Corvo the Black should be the canon ending and the new antagonist.
I always love the ending song so good
Chara Dremmur in dishonored it was way better and it's like a fact
Honor for all in NO way would fit with this game, it worked for the first one, it would not work for this one. Your opinion is not a fact.
well at least corvo doesn't have to save any settlements that needs his help anymore.
I didn’t even know you could leave them as stone the fuck
i hope this ending is canon.
Transistor Express nope its not
Only Low Chaos is considered as canon in both Dishonored and Dishonored 2
I achieved this ending with powers and 3 consecutive attempts at Flesh and Steel
These were the upgrades that I used during my Flesh and Steel run:
The Occult Kiss
The Dealer
The Determined Traveler
Collector's Carapace
The Expansive Lady
Silent Sprint 1 and 2
Ammo/Bonecharm Capacity + 5
The Bonecharms that I used in Flesh and Steel
1. Acrobat
2. Bird of Prey
3. Ground Glider
4. Swift Shadow
5. Whirlwind
6. Bloodfly Alchemy
7. Hardiness
8. Leech Cuts
9. Fleet Fighter
10. Zephyr
(I don't recommend using Risky Parry if you go for Flesh and Steel)
That bonecharm knocks your enemies down with a successful parry but you take damage while parrying as well
Papich ending.
I would have liked to think that Corvo would have revived her before he himself died of old age... but *that* we'll never know.
This is assuming that he *can* still revive her. I figure it was a once-chance thing, which he could only do immediately after offing Delilah.
You know... All of y'all are saying it's sad. But you have the option to take the throne of rescue Emily, even in high chaos.
Whelp I chose this one because i thought it was my only option. Dammit
