@@gustavoargumanis1863 agreed I find him extremely interesting too, probably once a executioner and crusader (his sword also looks like it would be used by crusaders)
I'd be extraordinarily happy if the devs decided to make him the main protagonist in an ARPG. Going on some mental pilgrimage, having to deal with your alcoholism and demons, and getting into fights along the way, all while accompanied by a bangingly ominous soundtrack.
@@PolVai I think he might have PTSD disorder, him mentioning Saracens brings to mind the Ottoman Empire which to put it simply did terrible things that could traumatise and destabilise otherwise mentally sound people. To put it simply alcohol is fine as a treat but very unhealthy as a coping mechanism.
Father Zera's extremely powerful once you get used to him in that once he gets momentum on his sword swings he can batter most enemy's sabres and rapiers aside and get inside their guard for very easy slashes that one hit kill in a round. He's also extremely difficult to counter because of how seemingly random his apppearances are. Despite the fact that he actually has some very reliable combo flows and openings that are tough to read until the last moment.
@@Superintendent_ChaImers I totally agree with you. There is really good combos he has for every matchup. I notice some fighters with Sabres and Rapiers they take about 5 good cuts or stabs to beat someone but with Father Zera it’s usually 2 swings and they are dead or drained
You know I used to think that Father Zera was who Samuel became at the end of his story mode, and I still think that's actually a pretty cool idea. Wrestling with your inner demons, literally, is an interesting thing to see. (though I'm now almost certain it's not true)
Father zera is the most perfect comedic relief character in the history of fighting games. Change my mind.
As a gameplay mechanic, yes
As a character, I find him extremely interesting.
Exactly what happened for him to end like that?
Slavic Bo'rai'cho
@@gustavoargumanis1863 Considering he called the thieves Saracens the Ottoman Empire might have caused it. Its just my guess but it makes sense.

Dead or Alive also have Brad Wong, that was my favourite character to play.
This has totally changed my view of this guy. That face close up and pov at the 1 minute mark is terrifying
If you read his character description, he isn't a priest at all, but a criminal in disguise. Really creepy actually

It would have been awesome if there was a ARPG mode where every character has handcrafted stories (similar to the arcade mode for them)
Maby we will get a Zera sidestory one day.
My prayers have been heard
I want to see his backstory
SOMETHING must have happened in his younger days to end like that
Yes. He fell in love with God and alcohol.

@@Wolf-oc6tx My comment was obviously a joke, but that's a cool theory :P
@@PolVai Its okay, sometimes people say such things seriously and it can be hard to tell if you don't know someone. 🤗
I believe he used to be a executioner and crusader, I mean his sword looks like it would be used by crusaders
An extended version would be incredible.
For some reason I lose with everybody but Father Zera. Old Reliable and Faithful 🍻🍺🥃

That is my favourite theme from hellish quart
Video games need more badass priests
Ubisoft nailed it (twice, with Jerome and Longinus) and Kubold did well as well (crusader of the Lord!)
KCD (Kindgom come deliverance) has some interesting priests as well!
If you've never played Faith, you play as a priest named John Ward and basically fight demons with a cross, lol.
Nice!
I wonder what he is haunted by
alcoholism
@@underplague6344 But waht led him to that?
@@robinrehlinghaus1944 alcohol
@@underplague6344 There is more to the story then that, especially considering the horror of what the Ottoman Empire did.
To me I think he used to be an executioner and a crusader, his sword also looks like the type of sword used by crusaders
Anyone know the lyrics to this?
He's got the power of God and alcohol on his side! Aaaaaaaah!!
And his trusty sword.
