Have my Trophy MG3 Hybrid+ almost 3 weeks, love it. Very smooth drive, great comfy seats. Lots of tech /safety features and great MPG. I am getting over 60mpg on a regular basis. The rear folding seat in one slab is a non -issue for me ..but feels more solid this way.. only thing i would have liked is a spare wheel option but not possible to the quirk of having the 12v battery in the boot as too crowded up front for it. Fantastic value for money powertrain with a 7 year warranty. Full hybrid is def the way to go IMO.
You can configure either star button as a shortcut for the 360 cameras, there is also a shortcut to disable lane assist...just swipe finger down from top middle of infotainment screen.
It's surprisingly sophisticated to look at in the front. The rear lets it down a little, but great that they're doing a small hybrid. I have a Hyundai Ioniq which returns similar economy, but the visibility looks better in the MG3. Excellent review.
My MG ZS has a 360-degree camera button. So whenever I am in a tight situation, I just hit that button. It is very useful. But I do miss the MG pilot features, which is only there for the zs ev version in the UK.
Front passenger seat map pocket is only available in the trophy edition. It is the pocket on the back of the 2 front seats to store things like a-z atlas/maps or anything you want. Phrasing is odd
How does the MG3 Hybrid perform on a long downhill stretch, with the battery at 100% charge? Some say it goes into neutral, has no "engine brake" and therefore you are forced to keep your foot on the brake, with all that that entails. This is not a safe way to tackle a long downhill stretch of road.
I got one in May and it was great! Until the drivetrain broke after 2,000 miles. It's been with the dealership for three weeks and counting - they've not provided any courtesy car and I'm a bit pissed off about it.
My man get some old classic car reviews in..like the 560 SEC or 190 Cosworth . These new cars are crap besides Carwow and Autotrader have them covered. I think your niche are the older classics..a luve stream from mathhewsons auction maybe?
It seems to have that hybrid problem of looking expensive compared to comparable non-hybrid cars and not offering many tangible benefits - for example 100g/km is hardly impressive these days, but even if it were the tax regime isn't like it was in 2014 any more so it hardly matters. Maybe i'd be blown away if I drove it - I liked the Suzuki Swace more than I thought I would. stupid charcoal-coloured roof is going to make it feel horribly dark for my tastes. I wish manufacturers would stop doing that...
@@BrownCarGuy well that's clearly subjective, but it isn't for me. Whatever happened to tan interiors? Or light grey. Something to lift it and give it some lightness and space?
Just seen an Australian video on one of these and they have the option of one with a light interior and headlining... And they are right hand drive too, so no excuse as to conversion costs etc. Cmon MG UK.
Hybrids don't hold their value though, probably difficult to sell one second hand, so ultimately, a disposable car that will end up being an insurance nightmare. Still too heavy so excessive tire wear and if the battery is damaged even a little bit, the car is a write off.

With the car being a supermini could anybody comment if it is very low to get in & out of ?
I'm a pensioner so not as agile as I used to be !

Great review, and deserved sub! I've just ordered one with help from this video, thanks! 🙂
Oh nice! 🙏🏽 Tell the dealer please 😉☺️ Congrats and hope you enjoy the car!! 🤩

I think the biggest letdown of the new MG3 is the lack of split-folding seats. But regardless, I’d love to own one of these.

Very good value well worth it
Good video

It does get very dark inside

@@funnyfiveminutes yup. About right. Would it kill someone to do a nice, light interior?
@@funnyfiveminutesI saw the Australian video too. I would love to have the lighter interior with sunroof. It’s a shame it’s not available in the UK.
A hybrid that needs expensive 95 fuel is stupid.
95 isn't that expensive there's 97 too
95 is the cheapest. 91 in the USA is the equivalent of 95 in europe
They get a sunroof in other countries
@@d.c.Jones70 Only in sunny countries...😉
Yuk 😂
