Sixty years of listening to James Brown: I never got tired of doing it. I had the privilege of seeing him in concert 5 or 6 times. He is still the greatest! Rest in Peace JB
I think There was a Time is my favorite James Brown song. I've heard about a dozen studio and live versions and it seems like every one has a different arrangement. It would be interesting to listen to them chronologically and see how the song evolved over time. I'm still looking for more versions!
My mother took me to Apollo to see this, I remember the dancing ladies on in dressed silver mini dress. Thanks mother I was there.Gratefull for 60's 70's sweet spot.
It’s sad to say that with the Tom foolery going on in the black community, one has to listen to James Brown to understand today’s reality! R. I. P. to James Brown’s impact on the black community! Stay black!
