...James Brown was approximately 44 years old at this time 1977 having been born in 1933...dong the splits looking good with that mustache and soul patch which only he could pull off..and look great. Other entertainers at the age were reaching "over the hill"; except the Mighty James Brown.
Elvis was dead at 42 !
That right
Definitely “The Hardest working man in Show business”
Yep and did it for a good 10 years after this. He stopped doing the splits around 55 years old.
From 1972 to 1980 James Brown and The JBs was pumping out hit after hit constant funky grooves those were the highlights of my teen years listening
This is a funk disco version of Sex Machine and I LOVE it! The bad thing is, the 1975 album version isn't as fast and bouncy. This is a KILLA!
“Soul Father”That’s a new one from Wolfman
The (KING) of soul"
The Godfather of Funk and Creator of Funk, James Brown; R.I.P.
Some of his soldiers by this time had joined Uncle Jams Army The Mothership. Parliament Funkadelic.
One of the most talented men ever!!!GOD FATHER OF SOUL ❤️❤️
Yes the King of soul. Soul Brother number 1
Still searching for his autograph he signed to me in 88.
I enjoy watching classic footage of Mr.Brown and the mighty JB’s ✌🏿
The master performer!!! 🙌🏽
Note the shout out for The Ohio Players, I didn't know they did a 6 month USA tour together. Not sure what year that was.
How did he do that?; cause ..he could feel the beat(s)!
hi James.. just letting you know that around this time you had two little boys named Michael and Prince and that watching your every move and they ended up becoming two of the biggest stars in the world .. thanks for inspiring the next generation.. i mean you sort created hiphop in a way as well 🔥🙏🏽 really appreciate you
James Brown and THE CREW!!!!!!!!
We are all watching a true master of a craft. There are so many flawless live performances and his band is always top-notch.
The man DID invent soul!
💫✨ James Brown had natural metronomic abilities in his 🧠 mind and rhythmic 🥁 syncopation in his feet, 👣 bringing it all 2gthr on a funky 🎚️ level of intensity and precision! 🕺🏾💃🏽 Thk U 4 the 🆙Load. 💫✨
He Was The"Bruce Lee of Funk"
Thats a dumb comment
No...Bruce Lee was the James Brown of martial arts! Agreed?
Wow...

11:09 "Can we give the drummer some? "
How did he do that?!
When I first saw this it was in mid-September, 1976. SoulOnTop, you've done a fantastic job of restoring this dynamic clip.

💥💥🤘🏿🤘🏿
目茶苦茶元気なJB!
AND BOOTSIE !
Bootsy was a full-time P-Funketeer and solo recording star by this period.
@@modernretroradio993 hey there-soo you might be right my friend-BUT consider this just for the fun(k) of it--- and I know what I am talkin about- I was BERNIE and Judi WORRELL's lawyer and Bootsie liked me when we schmoozed- so I respectfully submit/TESTIFY- First-that performance is NOT from 1977 --it is from 1974--Wolfman Jack says so in the clip etc...which make a big difference..and Secondly - as we would say in 1974---that guitarist in the back--'He Sho'Nuff looks like Bootsie !" So I am about sixty-nine(69%) percent sure it's him ..What do you think?...Hey if you want to see something good (and Bootsie certified)..watch an SNL performance of 'Funky Kingston" with Bootsie Toots Maytal and the Roots...good stuff...let me know you got this....best JS
The "Mustache Era"of James Brown was Heavyweight funk. Nothing to play with
Love it
They call me Clay
Is that Melvin Parker on drums?
Yeah looks like it
Hiram Bullock on guitar ?
I've never heard of Hiram Bullock, that's James Brown's band supporting him,
Un Showman total
Michel Jackson, Prince?????((....Noooooooo James Brown..... ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why did the number one soul brother have to make this white audience get up and dance. The funky sound of James Brown Band should have made them jumped to their feet without Mr. Brown saying a word!!
Totally, but you know how they are... like sheeps
That's the same people that dont have any seasoning on their white recipes.
I was born too late...😒
You missed a legand! and, I grew up with his music, saw him live when I was 16! Evidently you are a old soul if you appreciate this now 😮
Me too. I always say I wish I could have swapped births with my mother lol.
Damn, this performance must of been a blow for JB. He was starting to become irrelevant with a newer generation and its really evident looking at how bored the audience looked most of the time. Sad sight to see honestly. But, I guarantee someone in the audience today brags about seeing JB live "that one time." Lolz
James Brown will never be irrelevant! (The ones who looked bored just had no soul!)
