That whole flap that stays down with the magnet broke off my ice machine so I zip tied it on but the magnet doesn’t sit all the way down on the right side well that caused my machine to shut off prematurely?
I have this ice maker a Q 210-A and it works and the water pumps the water across the evap just until a small amount of ice starts to form in the boxes then the compressor reverses and the plate gets hot like to make the ice release. Its like its not running long enough to make ice. Would this magmetic switch cause this? theres another sensor for the cubes on the top that has a metal piece you can adjust away or closer to the grid where the ice forms in
Got the same problem .worked on it 07/29/22 , Cleaned condenser , sealed around it, Pressures 50psi and 200 psi. .compressor reverses and dumps almost fully formed cubes. water runs too long it seems. thinking low side needs to be yet lower.
I have a Q270 with a very similar setup, according to the lights on the control board the bin switch is closed, however at harvest cycle it more or less goes schizophrenic, and ends the harvest. This machine was gave to me after it more or less just stopped all together, which was a fuse. I am a bit lost on this, not sure if its the switch or something else causing it.
Shorted out ice thickness, probe. Easy way to check it is to unplug the ice thickness probe from the circuitboard and see if it’ll form ice or look at the board as it goes into the icemaking mode if the harvest light stays on continuously.

The little magnetic switch you are talking about are called Reed switches
Correct at :44 seconds I call it a magnetic reed switch. 🤘⚡️🤘

Damn i could have posted this like 5 times lol.. use the silicone for the top plate to help hold the magnet in place. Fyi
