Don't know why everyone is complaining about the diy part. Diy stands for do it yourself. Which is exactly what they did. Diy doesn't mean easy project.
iron and wood but it does mean a project that won't take "professional" skill to complete. I work with metal these are high level techniques and equipment.
I love the work you did on this custom lighter. The only thing I think should of been changed is the cap to cover the wick. I think it should of had a lanyard mounted to it, because for someone that actually uses a lighter frequently, you do not want to have to worry about losing a cap that has to be unscrewed to use the lighter.
I've seen this before and I keep coming back to it. It's like one of those things in life that you'd love to own, but know you never will. I guess poor people don't have things like that. It's a pleasure to watch each time for many reasons, but I don't need to list them because you already know. Simply said. ..it's truly Art. I thought this time I'd leave a message to tell you how beautiful this piece is. I hope you have an exhibit for your work one day, because it honestly deserves it. I'll keep dreaming, and thanks again.
An absolute work of art. you should be very proud of your work and you have an incredible working skill set. Love the idea of metal and wood being put together. Thank you for sharing.
You’re good.........That’s high praise coming from me. I’m a first class machinist. 35 years at it......you’re way better than average....you’re good. = )
Now this is fine workmanship. Excellent attention to detail, and you leave no surface half finished or rough. 8/10, though one of the points deducted was a matter of personal taste.
Guys, you're way off. He can easily sell it anywhere for like....$5000 - $6000 as a : "one piece only" work of art. Hell, I've seen a listings for ordinary 2 dollar auto continuity testers, sold for $200 on ebay, and there were actually people who bought them. FOR TWO HUNDRED FREAGIN' DOLLARS. Do you think he won't find a sucker to pay 10.000 for this?..... I'd put it out there just out of curiosity .....ha ha ha
Diy does not mean easy project you can whip up with stuff you found in your cupboard. It means Do it yourself, not can be done by anyone. It does not have to be easy.
DIY doesn't mean that you have to build something using only a box cutter and a hot glue gun. And he/she didn't use anything crazy, apart from the lathe all those tools can be found in most serious amateur workshops.
It's DIH do it himself lol. I know what you mean. All "how to" videos are very popular but the average joe is never going to be able to DIY it just because of a video. I have spent the last 40 years as a maker and know it takes a lifetime of skills and tools and experience to do this stuff even after watching the video.
Ebay or some other site where people can sell used stuff. There are a lot of old lathes for sale, you should just research what to watch out for so you gat a decent one.
Que bonito encendedor, fue muy ingenioso hacerlo, y se llevó un mundo de trabajo, pero quedó precioso..!! W&MLevsha, eres un maestro para fabricar encendedores, me gustaría tener uno de esos..!! Excelente video..!!
My jaw cannot hang open any lower !!! Just too wonderful. What artistry and skill at the lathe. I doff my hat to you Sir !!! What will it take to buy one of these ??
Very pretty, I'm a machinist and love making things like this. Very time consuming and not stuff you would sell. My stuff is generally used "with" a lighter if you know what I mean. Maybe some day I'll clean my collection up and post a video. Thanks you're very talented.
Awesome job once again beautiful..only problem might happen is when the wick becomes to fraid the lid wont go around it then alot of wasteful gas trying to get it back on
Hope you get the $200-300 for the lighter your time is worth for this project! Too bad there are mass production machines that can duplicate and sell them for $20-30... They say they are trying to create jobs when its the exact opposite! I appreciate your talent - Great Job!
I am not just a fan of your craftsmanship but the choice of music used for background .. please name the track.. it's a huge demand too.. Last but not the least you eared my subscription as well.
Hello sir, what materials you used to join all the parts together. Are they soldering wick and what those jelly type thing you used before applying heat torch ?
I understand that, but what's actually happened is that now, instead of being a very long how-to video in a language that most of the world doesn't speak, it's an amazing art piece. So many more people will get to see this awesome work. You should go with it, not resist.
Great video, great skills.Big respect ! I don't like the wood, it is so generic for such a awesome and one of a kind lighter. I'm thinking of some special wood with interesting coloration and patterns.
Okay so I have a question. One post is the fluid tank and the other is the wick stand, from what I see, with the flint post in the middle. If you made the connecting rods from a solid drill bit how does the fluid go from one side to the other
The whole point of art is that it serves no practical use, it is there just for the beauty. I think the definition needs to be changed because this lighter IS a piece of ART
This is my second channel for English-speaking audiences.

iron and wood but it does mean a project that won't take "professional" skill to complete. I work with metal these are high level techniques and equipment.
iron and wood what part of the above video can you do it by yourself ?
Sujith Thomas literally all of it. Machines like these aren't expensive, and make for a great hobby
I'm going to buy $100K CNC machine center, then make something ordinary people can't and claim that It's DIY. lol!!
Wasin Intasarn $100k cnc machine centre. A metal lathe is only a few thousand. No cnc in here.

Absolutely beautiful my friend. I love the attention to detail. A great craftsman indeed. Keep up the great work.
This isn’t just a cigarette lighter, this is a work of art, love the video
Some kind of chain should be used to keep the cap from getting lost.
Or a cap with a hinge.
Or a cap with a hinge.
From the way he machined the cap he definitely planed to, but probably forgot.
Yes, I was abt to comment the same.

the extent to which you polish all your parts amazes me. very nice work!
Fantastic craftsmanship!
Yeah. a grinder sandpaper and polish would make a turd look nice wouldn't it...
An absolute work of art. you should be very proud of your work and you have an incredible working skill set. Love the idea of metal and wood being put together. Thank you for sharing.
That’s the most beautiful lighter I’ve ever seen. Well done!!!

A work of art. Beautiful workmanship.
And for a second I thought I would be able to make one myself... yeah right.
Diy does not mean easy project you can whip up with stuff you found in your cupboard. It means Do it yourself, not can be done by anyone. It does not have to be easy.
Lol, me too!!!!
Quite simply one of the most beautiful projects I have ever seen. Great work!
It's DIY when you own a whole factory of tools.
Definitely one of the most badass videos I've watched on RUclips....awesome build and beautiful piece of functional art!
Can you make a DIY on how to get those tools pls
Ebay or some other site where people can sell used stuff. There are a lot of old lathes for sale, you should just research what to watch out for so you gat a decent one.
Michael Riley it’s called going to Home Depot and buying one
Que bonito encendedor, fue muy ingenioso hacerlo, y se llevó un mundo de trabajo, pero quedó precioso..!! W&MLevsha, eres un maestro para fabricar encendedores, me gustaría tener uno de esos..!! Excelente video..!!

Pro_Killer_2184 RUclips not DIY for poor people. No. DIY yes. Totally
