Hello I have a 2006 ford Taurus. My check engine light came on a week ago and hasn’t gone away, I received 3 codes from a diagnostic which were (P0 191, P2 196, P2 198) i haven’t been driving it much, but I want to ask if the car is worth fixing, and will it be costly? I don’t want to scammed for lack of knowledge on this matter.
Awesome video! My 2017 Ford Fusion has been throwing a P0456 (very small evap leak) for about a month now. Any time I fill up gas the CEL throws the same code. Kinda stutters on start up but not bad at all. I’ve been meaning to get around to changing my evap purge valve but haven’t done so yet. This morning after driving my car for 20 mins, CEL came on. Followed by a periodic humming sound (hums about every 10 seconds). Now I’m getting two codes P0456 and P2196 (O2 sensor biased/stuck rich bank 1 sensor 1) Would a bad evap purge valve cause it to run rich? Or could it be I have a small evap leak coming from fuel injector in bank 1?
Hi. Good video. I have a P2196 code on my Toyota Yaris 2009 stuck rich bank one sensor one but the code only comes on during the winter season. Rest of the year its fine no code whatsoever. Do you know what the problem may be as its only tripping on during that time?

Well in summer last year I sprayed the sensor with Halfords electrical cleaner (took the sensor out using the special sensor tool you can get from ebay) I cleared code and didnt come on till now last few weeks. I drive let car warm up with heating on and boom light comes on but I just keep clearing it using obd.
@@IbzJaay19 well i have this problem a few years now so it started to come up in warmer days of the spring but i couldn't remove it yet. Why you don't change it?If error code is true then we probably burning more fuel which in long run is the same as paying for the replacement part
@@K_N_44 I only drive local so my yaris doesnt reach optimum temperature most of the time so thats why I just clear code whenever it comes on. The replacement part is a over £100 and only the genuine Denso brand will work. All other brands will illuminate the check engine light on like how it is now. I read that somewhere online. So if you are going to get a new part make sure its genuine Denso.
Got p2196 code Car runs and drives besides sometimes rough starts after refueling. I reset the check engine light didn't come back on for another month. Check for vacuum leaks and didn't find any. Cleaned MAF sensor and reset again. Came back on a week later.

The car is still hard to start sometimes after refueling. Im hearing that can be the purge valve. Thats my next step i guess. Do you have any recommendations?
Hello. I have a 2017 Ford Edge. I have 3 codes. P0456, P1450 and P2196. I’ll tell you a few of the problems I’m having. My gas is running out extremely fast. This is a V4 and it is running out like it is a V12. When Im at the gas station, if I fill up my gas tank, when I go to start my car it does not start immediately. It coughs and coughs like it’s trying to start but doesn’t for about a minute or 2. And also, when I add gas my car shakes and rumbles. More recently I actually smelled gas in my car after I left the gas station. That happened twice. Where do you think I should start?
I recently got the P2196 code on my 2016 Ford Edge Sport and my car has shaken the last 2 times I’ve gotten gas, and my revs go up and down and then it settles and stops shaking, but when I tried ti start it up today at the gas station it sounded like it did not want to start up, scheduled appointment at Ford for this Friday but prior help would be amazing

Today I used a can of seafoam spray top engine cleaner and lube. I sprayed it directly into the throttle body. Now... My 2004 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 l 6 cylinder engine is throwing code P2196 and P2198. Any ideas?
Hi William, I would suggest you check out the owner's manual first. You may also try to find any stamps on the cylinder head for any cylinder numbers. Bank 1 is the side with the number 1 cylinder (Cylinders 1-3-5-7- etc.)
I pretty much done everything recommended in this video and I'm still getting this p2196 code. Yes I replaced the purge valve. Any ideas what what else it could be. The engine runs fine it seems like it runs even better since I put all those parts in.
I heard you have to clear the codes with a obd reader and if it comes back on you are in trouble. If you did all this then i'm sure it wont turn back on.
Have you tried to change spark plugs? It says this code is related to rich mixture of gas and air, this can happen because of malfunction of spark plugs too.

Hi Brandon, kindly check the wiring related (around the pre and post catalytic converter oxygen sensor) for damage and repair/replace them to see if the issue will still persist Clean the MAF Sensor, check for any exhaust leaks, and ensure that the fuel pressure is within specs.

check oxygen sensor harness probpably short causing high voltage and causing dtc p2196 before you replace the sensor go under vehicle visual inspect oxygen sensor harness see if theres any wire rubbing on the drive shaft or touching exhaust .its easy if you have a scan data then you custom list all 4 oxygen sensors and you look at the voltage and you start wiggling the harness you'll feel surprise seing sudden voltage change on the sensor that means theres a short somewhere

Hello, you may possibly have a bad canister purge valve that's causing a vacuum leak.

Hi EJ, this code is usually triggered by a bad oxygen sensor, and it happens in case of cold engines during winter.

I have P2196 and P0139 on a 2014 Hyundai accent, but I recently had my O2 sensors changed, any ideas?
I have a hyundai elantra 2006 changed my downstream sensor and i still have p2196, p2626 & p2097
Can a small hole in the resonator cause this to happen?
Or just replace the purge valve 🤷♂️

Canister purge valve ! Had the same issue and it fixed it.

Hello, the issue could be coming from the hoses, MAF, wiring/plugs or the 02 sensors. Kindly have them checked.
