Well bugger my old boots, you've done again, found a full history, seemingly rust free, gun barrel straight example of one of the best motors in Britain. Hands up I am biased, I have personally owned and ran four Range Rovers over the last 30 years, because I always bought only full history examples, including petrol, propane/petrol conversion, and of course my personal favourite, turbo diesel. I currently run a 2016 V8. I can categorically state, for the benefit of all the nay sayers, Know alls, and no nothings, if looked after properly, Range Rovers are totally reliable. Furthermore, if you do not have the need or requirement to run this type of powerful 4x4, that can tow three and half tonnes, please buy something else, the World is your oyster. Stop criticising what you really know nothing about. Well done Johnny good shout, I hope it serves you well, what a smart move, keep us posted Buddy.
Thats a great buy. If you chucked in new turbos and EGR's and an inlet + sorted gearbox that thing would keep on going for another 100k miles and pull anything day in day out.
Those wheels with a medium profile tyre is a perfect combination for the L322. It gives one an option for a bit of deflation where required and improved comfort over corrugated dirt roads. What a magnificent car. The gearbox probably just needs a service. A beautiful CAR.
Totally fantastic Johnny. Stunning car, excellent value. And such a fine companion you have, a great looking dog. Great music too. Thank you for sharing.
The intermittent airbag light on the dashboard is normal on older vehicles. Just clean the electrical connectors underneath both the front seats first. If that fails than it's just the clock spring in the steering wheel. Easy fix that, and i hope a cheap one for that Range Rover there. Cheers m8.
I’m in the same boat , bought a late 2010 Autobiography Black TDV8 4.4 with 153k a month ago out of BCA, was a big risk however I’ve done 1300 miles so far and it’s been a beauty! Bought it to sell on but right now I can say il be keeping it for awhile it’s that good 😎
That´s a FREE example. If you give this one the care you give other Cars, starting with a proper indepth inspection and then attacking all the Range rover specific issues (experience helps), then you have yourself a Luxury vehicle/tool for a decade to come!
Its a lovely looking Range Rover, they are cheap because of the running costs, road tax and cost of any repairs they may need, and that puts a lot of people off them. But is you can afford the running costs and repairs then this one that has a massive service history may make sense, and I hope this is the case for you Johnny. 🤞
I had to smile when you told us the price you paid, I thought you were going to say something around £5k but let’s see what it’s cost you after the repairs.
The repairs wont be cheap (almost certainly), but it's such a lovely thing that i don't mind investing semi respectable money into it if it gets me a healthy, ready to work TDV8!
The L322 is a timeless design. I would say the most iconic Range Rover shape, even above the original. They are not my thing personally - but I agree, for the money, you can't argue, it's fantastic value, especially if you are willing and able to DIY a lot of the maintenance and gremlins.
You are absolutely correct - i should've known this (having had an IS Range Rover in the family before), but its been a few years since i've seen one and could've sworn it was a more bronzey gold than this, but upon investigation you are 100% right and this TDV8 is indeed Ipanema Sand!
Agreed about being a good winter run around, that said a submarine might be better in the winter weather we get nowadays. The price you paid for that is fantastic imo. With your knowledge, skills and connections you should be able to keep the costs down and if it is that good an example I would definitely keep it.
I have exactly the same model beautiful car to drive and tow with and probably the best model rangerover made with the usual built in love hate relationship . I think dampness in the electrics has a lot to do with lights flashing on the dashboard and once you understand rangerovers the nigly bits are just part of running one
I think you're right. Im currently in the 'deep dive' investigation stage at the moment so I will get a video out soon (hopefully finding a few culprit issues!)
These wheels were standard for HSE other trims had 20" alloys. Name of the Color is Ipanema Sand. Regarding infotaiment display. There cars where fitted with dualview screen. If it has been changed, it is very likely that new diplay does not have dualview feature. A bit strange part are black parking sensors, should be in color of the car.
I am guessing but the gearbox needs filter change and oil refresh The adaptive dynamic sounds like suspension issue the pump under the bonnet that lifts suspension might be on way out Edd China on wheeler dealers changed one He just bought a pump not a complete package it worked out loads cheaper or he may of reconditioned the pump motor 😊
You're absolutely right there - The 405 is a much more refined and overall more gentile feeling machine, but in a way that's what i really like about the 322 (Especially in it's role as a towing rig / yard shunter / winter runabout)!
Right place at the right time Johnny 😊 I'm curious to know what camera you use in the car as it works really well with stability etc. Thanks in advance &. I look fwd to future tweaks this car needs 👍
Love these cars but too afraid to own one 😂 The airbag light might be the sensor mat in the driver’s or passanger seat. Assuming this is BMW tech, these are sensitive and often break.
You’re probably right 😂 As you may know, I ADORE Toyotas (especially LandCruisers), but there is just something about a Range Rover…I can’t put my finger on it but no matter how troublesome they are, I still like them!
The killer is when you go to tax it. It is downright criminal to penalise, what is probably one of the safest cars on the road, just to supposedly appease the god of net zero. Especially when you think of the fuel duty being returned to the exchequer.
Get the best diagnostic you can on the airbag light, I have an intermittent on my Laguna. Odds on a dirty connector block by all accounts, under the seat or under some sill trim. Not enough to bother me as yet but could be the same for you, gotta be worth a look. Lovely ride, jealous ...🤗🤗 Edit: I took one look and said that would be a complete steal at 5 grand all done at the auction. 3????? Do me a favour 😂😂
I've got a very reputed specialist on it at the moment so hopefully I will have a clearer picture soon! The sub £3k price is 100% genuine, I promise! I always give completely accurate pricing on my channel (just because there's not much point trying to pull the wool!)
Hi . A few months ago I bought a late 2009 facelift L322 TD V8 from an auction for £1745 plus fees . The front suspension was down ,which put a lot of people off. Turned out to be a broken height sensor. The adaptive dynamics fault was the wires on top of the front struts . About £100. Each from Rimmer’s . My next problem is the heater doesn’t work . Any idea on that one
I’ve just bought the same 3.6 2011 model I have adaptive dynamics fault and restricted performance faults , mine isn’t as tidy as yours cracked headlight and bumper and bad scuff in rear bumper however I paid £1400 private sale 😬
@@martinilavsky2553 well of course every country has different specs!! We are in England so you can’t compare different countries specs to an English car!! 😃
Ridiculous money - 3k and it may be thirsty, but what a lot of car for the money. Put a private plate on and set aside a grand for a good service and another 2k for issues.
It certainly seems unfairly high, however my thought is always that if a car is cheap enough to begin with, the costs of servicing and tax can be somewhat offset against that original, lower purchase price.
Only just discovered your channel. I like it. Nice car. Nice dog. I would like a RR but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to buy one. At present, I have a 2013 MB E Class Coupe and both my better and me love it.
I'm assuming if it is leaning a bit, that'll be related to the Active Dynamics Fault. Hopefully the specialist will be able to throw some light on that one!
I'd have that for 3k any day excellent buy and this comes from someone who's about to hand back a nissan cashcow in the next couple of months on a pch which has cost me with a service about £7.5k over 2 years

They look so good in unmodified, untinted spec. Great colour too!
Thats a great buy. If you chucked in new turbos and EGR's and an inlet + sorted gearbox that thing would keep on going for another 100k miles and pull anything day in day out.

I had a Sport with the TDV8 in it. What a superb engine, it just pulls and pulls. I'd have certainly bought it at that money.
I polished my headlights today. Really made a difference. My older vehicles, no plastic, the older the better.
Defo a keeper if required...!
What a solid, reliable strong truck and cheap as chips..!!
