Flame effect in Blender 2.82

- In this video I'm going to show you how to make a flame effect for your gfx in Blender 2.82 (or later)
note: i DO NOT own the original method of making this shader, the original method was made by CG PATRICK

To the people who can't select the arm (Most of the people), if you're using Blender 2.90, On the top right corner, click the potion, then under Restriction Toggles, Click the MOUSE icon.
This will show up the unchecked mouse icons in the object tab. Check all of them, if you're using PaintRigV3_1, then your left arm and right arm will be Mendula8 and Mendula6.
Now you can select your right and left arm. Alex pin this so people know.

I also had this issue because it says "Pass Index," "Multiple Importance," "Transparent Shadows," "Sampling," "Interpolation," "Homogeneous," and "Step Rate." Please tell me how to fix this lol

for people who dont know how to get the node wrangler (ctrl T part) , go to edit, scroll to preferences, go to add-ons, and scroll until you find node wrangler

Quick note: thanks to valentine pro, he commented that if you don't see the blend mode then go to the radio thing then instead of cycles render, change it to evee render

for people that are stuck with the node wrangler (cntrl t part) go to edit prefrences, then go to add ons and search up node wrangler. it should be unchecked, make sure to check it and your problem is solved

Okay, so if you are unable to find the blend mode and shadow mode options, you need to set your render engine to evevee. It took some time to figure out but it works. My version is 2.83.3

help at 2:10 when i change it to alpha clip it became invisible but the flame effect is still in there

Hey, if you cant select the arms you can see on the top right there you can see a outliner now you can see that kinda light grey bar on the top, now put your cursor there and scroll down, and click that arrow thingy beside the small marketplace logo after that make the checkmark, cursor, eyes, monitor, camera blue by clicking on them now click anywhere and click the arrows that isnt highlighted and then now you can put fire on your rig, if you dont understand then oof

alot of people are stuck with the changing settings part, you have to change your render mode to evee

I was wondering if you could help me, or anybody in the comments.. Whenever I click 'N' the active tool shows up but only shows the 'Tool' , 'Item' ,'Options' and 'View' tab, the options tool doesnt show anything about a blend mode! Help meee hahah!

I'm using the Blender Rig that's Blender 2.82 bc Using Blender 2.90 only had 1 Tourtail , I was able to make what I was trying to make but Render it took 8 hours on my Laptop (Bc I set the render to 2.5k and my Laptop is trash) so yea Now I just use the Paint RightV3

I've done it
Toward the end once I’m sliding my black slider back, my normal arm isn’t there/invisible. The flame effect is still there it’s just you can see through it

yeah bruh
Select the outliner option,
First go click on the funnel icon above scene collection, then select the cursor icon.
Then go to scene collection and select mendula parts and click the 2 triangular lines for all the mendula parts, then they will turn into a cursor icon.
Done! now you can select the parts

you go to edit on the top left corner next to file and render. then click on prefrences and then go to add on's and type in wrangler to the search bar and then enable it.

hey alex when i change it to alpha clip it turns into transparent texture how can i turn it into my avatars texture (arm not the whole body)
it SHOULD be that, you have to duplicate the arm and scale it up before doing it

When you importing your charecter in import menu select geometry and split by group.

OK so when I am in options at 2:09 it doesnt show that stuff
cuz you're using cycles...
don't worry, you don't have to do that part when using cycles, it won't effect the node at all

guys i have found a new word *sclae*
When i put in the shader things on the side, my arm doesn't start glowing it just stays the same. I assume i'm doing something wrong and its just gonna be some small issue lol
