Thanks for the informative review. I've been on the lookout for a wireless mechanical keyboard for a while now and while I liked first Keychron the initial height of their first models was a no go for me. This low profile model looks like it's exactly what I need.
I too loved the aesthetics of the thicker keyboard, but it quickly became apparent that it wasn't comfortable. Also I kept making mistakes on the different layout, and was a bit impatient to build the muscle memory.
@@LinChearReal My K1 arrived today with the Gateron Brown. It's gonna take some getting used but I'm a fairly heavy typer so I think I won't even notice within a few days. Love it so far though.
This keyboard is legit! I've been thinking about upgrading my current computer set up. Right now, I've been mainly just using my MacBook Pro for all my editing/YT needs though wonder what I'm missing out on with a better set up!
You know it's interesting that you're coming from a full-size blue (cherry?) very tactile keyboard to a low-profile less-tactile brown switch. I came from a k1v4 with the same low-profile gateron brown, then now I'm using a razer blackwidow with full-size razer green (equivalent of blue) on an aluminum chassis and the tactile feedback is just incomparable! Well it just boils down as you say to what each person is looking for.
you're right. It's impossible to really review a keyboard because some people might actually prefer the dome keyboard feel over fancy mechanical keyboards. I have coworkers that love the apple thin keyboard and others that are perfectly happy with a $30 amazon china special.
"Because it's a keyboard": underrated statement. 😂 Mech keyboards are amusing devices but at the end of the day, like any other object actually, you get used to them and they just become normal/usual. Also may I ask, what do you do with your other keyboards?
right now they sit at the side, but every so often, I might swap in a red keyboard if I want to do more gaming. I'm currently using the K1 now and gave the K2 to my son. I bought a razer orange for my wife but she really doesn't care. gaming keyboard go brrrrrrrrrr !
Great review! I'm considering buying this one too because RGB and Bluetooth, BUT mainly for the numpad for office work, not because it's low profile 😅 Do you think I could replace the keycaps with 3rd party non-low profile ones?
the switches actually have a different coupling interface than the regular gaterons. Instead of a +, they're more like two vertical slots, so I could not put my regular keycaps on them.
Hi, have you tried connecting it to a Windows PC via Bluetooth? Mine couldn't reconnect back once it goes asleep or connects to some other device by Fn+1\2\3 and i have to pair it all over again. I wonder if it's just me or it's a common issue.
Would be nice if you made sure that the voice volume is the same throughout the video. It was loud in the beginning, then quiet at 0:08 and loud again at 0:19. It's not very comfortable adjusting volume every 10 seconds. Just an advice.
I had the linear version which should be the lightest of the available switches for this board, and I found them too stiff. That is coming from one that used 55g topre switches and thinks they‘re fine and not too stiff. Weird key feeling on this K1, which is why I sold it again. Oh and Bluetooth had many hickups for me, like monster delay from time to time. Got really annoying and was only useable for me with cable.
Is it much better than the Apple Magic Keyboard? I'm thinking whether K4 or this one would provide better feel compare with the magic keyboard on my MacBook Air
I would like to have a mechanical wireless in my backpack to supplement the typing experience on my thinkpad yoga, so it needs to be designed around traveling in a backpack. The K2 V2 seems a bit tall and I dont want to carry around an extra wrist rest. Do you guys have any advice?
Keep trying to buy from their website, but they don't ship to US. Emailed customer service and they stated the distributor is in Malaysia...not sure why that would matter in terms of being able to ship the US.
@@LinChearReal Yeah, I imagine the K1 version 4 will eventually make it to Amazon and the US market...maybe soft release in Malaysia and other Asian countries. Based on the number of reviews I am seeing - yours is one of the better ones BTW - I would have thought it was more widely available.

Hello, are you still using the keyboard until now?? do you experience any trouble with it so far?? Cuz ive been looking into this keyboard since it was pretty as hell, but most of the customer reviews comments i've seen said they didn't like it, whether they received defected product, key registering before "click" sound, typos like "sssss" instead of "s" , and switch broke after 2 months of use . . Thanks in advance!
@@LinChearReal ahh thanks for answering man, such a breath of relieve, i got mine which is k1v4, it does flawless so far, and i used it with the bluetooth for typing and casual gaming, seems like no noticeable latency delay which is good, i hope this keyboard is a big bang for my buck since this was my first mechanical keyboard
Good question... I'll have to follow up on this as I'm actually using it as a wired keyboard for my desktop. I'll go a week on wired and see what happens.
I can't really say since I don't own the g915. BUT, the g915 is marketed as a gaming keyboard and almost $400 (CDN). I'm absolute trash at video games so I can't justify spending that kind of money on the G915. For pure typing experience, if you're looking at G915, that's going into custom built mechanical keyboard territory. It's starting to get into /r/mechanicalkeyboards territory.
oh man, I will go out on a limb and say Blues. HOWEVER, it is highly subjective so what you are looking for will be certainly different. The reason I say blue is because that tactile feel can help you type and actuate the switches before they bottom out. You just have to push to the click point. Browns also work as well , but they don't have the same level of sureness as blues do. Again, it's purely subjective and I came to these conclusions with my own personal experience and expectations. Good luck ;)
I appreciate that you don't have crappy music in the background
I appreciate how comprehensive your reviews are! Thank you for the great videos!

As far as width, you could go with the TKL version. Mine comes tomorrow. :)
How do you find it?
What would be the best way to lube these switches? Does anyone have any good videos on lubing these low profile switches that can't be taken out?
Great feedback. Any thoughts on the K5 in comparison?
Get the K5 now. I have the K1 and also K5 (two machines/workspaces) and prefer the K5 v5 over the K1 104, both RGB browns.
what's the different ?
@@lwtan7962 K5 is newer I guess.

Ah that sucks. Definitely these keyboards are all about the feels it seems, because the browns I have definitely feel more on the light side.
I want one, but they are out of stock

Can you lube these low profile gateron switches without desoldering?
Hi, Great video! In your opinion should I buy the K1 or a logi mx keys would be better? How’s the battery?
I've been using it exclusively as a wired keyboard now. But I will try and do battery only (since my desktop does not have bluetooth).
