I’ve been saying “this too shall pass” on a daily basis recently. Right now it’s the only way I can keep from losing it.

As a full-time nurse, mom, and small RUclipsr, I love this! 👏
I work in hospice nursing, and without a doubt believe that self-care and caring for my spiritual health are a MUST.

T.S. Eliot said "If you're not in over your head how do you know how tall you are?" And I used that daily to keep myself from quitting a toxic work environment in a scene causing way. Two years later that experience has launched a side hustle that may become the key to becoming self-employed (meanwhile I am in a much healthier day job). It is those periods if extreme stress that refine us in ways we can never fully appreciate in the moment. Thank you for your thoughtful and holistical approach to improving your life. You are now my favorite space on the internet.

Thanks for this insightful comment. It’s so interesting how we can use famous quotes or reasonings to tolerate a lot. This is such a good example of that, but also of breaking free of those preconceived notions of what life needs to look like and finding something better. So happy you found meaning in what you’ve been through and where you’re headed. (And thanks for the kind words!)

self care is a concept and term taken from Black lesbian feminist writer Audre Lorde in her essay "the care of the self." her essay actually speaks a lot on how self care is meant to be revolutionary and towards collective liberation but we've decontextualized it so much people have coopted it into a capitalist ethos.

It is ok, to just put your oxygen mask on for a moment and pause "be still and know I am God"
From cancer and trauma Surviver, Respiratory specialist, lone parent who has just been vindicated of false allegations in a court battle to maintain safety of my little ones: safety found by fleeing everything via a women's refuge. I've just lay down to watch this, there are a million things to do, but that's ok. Breathing is beautiful. There is power in the Name of Jesus. Take time beloved, this too shall pass 🙏

As a person who has been practicing minimalism for close to a decade now (😅) your #3 and 4 really resonate with me. I found after I decluttered a lot of the physical in my life I was acquiring more clutter in the mental and emotional to make up for that newly acquired space with what I was putting on myself in the forms of relationships and work. It seems, in my case at least, that’s where the real work starts with minimalism in reducing the to do lists we acquire for ourselves and how addictive productivity and doing more can be just as debilitating as acquiring more physically. And self care can often be the very not fun things in life of saying no to opportunities and addressing those that need to be finished first.
Anyhow, I really enjoy your channel and find a lot of inspiration in the shape of individual journeys with minimalism. ❤️

Hmm this is interesting! I thought with decluttering my objects I would automatically declutter all other dimensions too. But I guess you are right, when we do Not eliminate the core issue why we are filling ourselves up with mental emotional and physical Stuff, it will pile up and find some way into our life.
And maybe we recognize the mental and emotional Part even more when the physical Starts to minimize.
