JRA is hit or miss when it comes to AKs. I've owned a handful of different AK kit builds from them. Got a chance to visit and tour their facility in NC when I had a warranty claim and I wasn't impressed with what I saw. Pictures looked good online but the fit was lacking. Loose handguards, wonky rivets, walking trigger pins. I even had the rear trunion rivets walk out after no more than 50 rds on one rifle. Sold all but one, and that one is basically a collector showpiece that I would not trust my life to as a fighting rifle.
the selector markings are incorrect. that and the American barrel has me leaning towards a parts kit build by my builder. i might by a 68 kit to go along with my 69 kit though, why not
That's what irks me, they were right there and couldn't engrave them right? Especially for a $1400 rifle? If they used a Childers Receiver and a new AoA Polish Radom barrel I would have bought one.
@President Trump just look up russian akm selector markings. there should be two notches cut into the reciever for full auto and semi auto, this reciever has a more american comercial look to it with safe and fire options, nothing for full auto or semi auto
@President Trump AB is automatic and OA is single fire. The AB should be a notch just above the OA, not at the top in the safe position. The letters are correct, the AB location is wrong.
@@derrickhicksted2146 fit and finish is very good overall, but I haven’t been out to the range yet. The trigger is amazing. Crisp 3lbs. Windage adjustment drum is stiff.

Just recently stumbled upon your channel, therefore it was on my evening feed when I was looking at RUclips this evening. Thanks for the video. I have gone to the RGuns website, they have a 69’ Izzy build for $1750.00. Today is May, 24, 2022. Couple of questions if you don’t mind; you’ve had your AK for a year, do you like your purchase? Does it aggravate you that the markings on the receiver are incorrect? It would aggravate me,so it concerns me that if I purchase one of these builds from them, it’s possibly going to have the same issue. Would you say that you still highly recommend their products? Inquiring minds would like to know please. Thanks PS - I also liked and subscribed to your channel my friend.
Not that i have anything against JRA I think ill buy one of Rguns’s Tula kits and have it assembled myself, I think I’ll try out one of the FNH chrome lined barrels on that build too. That is a sexy looking rifle though, i wonder how smooth the action is in comparison to other AK’s with polished bolt carriers?
It’s smoother than my m92 and much smoother than my WASR. I’ve been very impressed with JRA. I was very hesitant due to all of the horror show builds I’ve seen. I don’t blame you for wanting the FN barrel though.
I’m no expert on the exact differences. From what I understand, all updates took place at Izzy a few years prior to being implemented at Tula and generally speaking the Izzy guns will have nicer fit and finish.
I was hesitant too due to their reputation, but I’ve handled 2 of these Russian builds and a Galil clone in the last few weeks and I have been very impressed.
Hey brother, just got mine. I am curious if you know the story behind these rifles? How did they manage to get stateside? Would really appreciate some more info as this is a fathers day gift for the old man.
I would rate this particular gun almost on-par with the old ATI builds from roughly 10 years ago (the ones advertised as Tula, but it was really just a mismatched Izzy kit with a Tula trunnion). The fucked up trunnion would really do me in and send it back, that's ridiculous...
I have an ATI 1968 Tula and it is all Tula parts and matching except the front trunnion. I also have a JRA and I would put the JRA a notch above the ATI build. The JRA is built much better but costs alot more. The ATI Tula back in 2011 was $400.
Dear god stop talking about AKM compensator as "MUZZLE BRAKE"...It is not muzzle brake, it doesnt brake anything, it compensates for the up movrmrnt while firing, so its compensator
Dear god, if you are going to argue about semantics, at least be correct. A muzzle brake is quite literally a recoil compensator, in design and purpose. Defined: a muzzle brake or recoil compensator is a device connected to, or a feature integral to the construction of, the muzzle or barrel of a firearm or cannon that is intended to redirect a portion of propellant gases to counter recoil and unwanted muzzle rise.
American AKs, unless they're from custom shops, are generally hit and miss hot mess junk. Get a WASR and straighten out the canted sights or 922r Zastavas and WBPs. JRA is amateur hour which makes replicas, not firearms which hold up.
I love my Zastavas. Absolutely been blown away by them. Now that Zastava usa is involved they’re top of the line

Got JRA Tula. Was satisfied. Thanks for your video
The action and trigger sound extremely smooth and clean.
I just bought a 1968
I like it a lot

Mines just like that but a Polish circle 11. Jrak custom build and it shoots great! Can't go wrong with import AK rifles. So vska can just blow off!!
Just ordered a JRA AKM from RGuns in part based on your reviews (2), thanks.
how was the rifle any good?

Hey is that an original Rodriquez Blue Dog painting on the wall or a print ?? Can I ask where you got that?

Why its singil shoot.. From iraq baghdad thanks
American gun laws. It is semi automatic meaning it will only fire once with each trigger pull. Thank you for watching.
Just picked up my second one, went with the Tula build to go with the Izzy
Very nice! You’ve got the bug as well.
Where did ya find a tula?
@@FluidSack if you look at Rgun’s gunbroker page they have 8 1968 Tula kits for sale. Their website isn’t up to date.

Awesome gun
Don't be sad about the trunion. My kit Izzy kit didn't have it or a cleaning rod. Had to buy a bulgy trunion
Nice rifle. Where did you find that barrel? Are you happy with that barrel?
I have one in my cart. Saw a bunch of bad china parts builds on youtube JRA did and now I am nervous to purchase :(

Just about 200rds through it. Everything is still great. Love the trigger. I'll eventually get around to a formal update on it.
Hey man I need some help figuring out a design on the side of my Izzy

I don’t have the full story. RGuns imported the kits (demilled guns) and then had JRA build them out.
