- My name is Josh. This is my second Dimash reaction and he wowed me again with his diversity, singing English and showing off his lower register. Of course, he moved in and out of the vocal upper stratosphere as well. He can do whatever he wants with his voice and we are just along for the ride and I'm enjoying taking this ride with you.
Again, I'm looking to mix it up with some "cool" pop/rock/r&b/alternative music from today's leading artists. I am also open to reacting to videos from Pentatonix, Voice Play, Home Free, Voctave or similar, if I haven't seen them. More Dimash also, please.

Dimash recently successfully defended his thesis in Master of Music Compositions. He has been recommended to go for his PhD....doctorate. How many singers/vocalists on earth hold masters or doctorate in singing and music? Already a maestro at 26 y.o. He has worked hard, persevere.....full commitment and discipline.

He never interested discussing his range but many suspect it’s much more than 7 octaves. So far from what we observed, he is pretty much in comfort zone in all his ranges from his lowest growl to highest whistle. Imagine what are the notes he would really struggle with.

There are 3 beautiful songs from the "Singer" series that have Very important True back-stories. They are :- "Autumn Strong" "Daididau" & "Daybreak" it is Vital that you react to these songs on the Gloria Wu channel! Her versions include these Back-stories which not only tells you about the songs but also shows how Dimash approaches these special performances. This will show you that Dimash is the best Story-teller as well as Singer/Performer. He doesn't just Sing songs, he Lives them. 😊🏴👍

@Italian dear 4ever while I Apsolutely agree with Everything you said, I'm afraid you've missed 2 very important points. First is this reactor has already said he wants to go through the "Singer" performances before moving on to Dimash's later work. Secondly the Gloria Wu channel versions which I have recommended have the all important "Back-stories." Without these he like many other reactors (even with subtitles) won't have a clue what the true meaning of these songs are. After he's finished with the "Singer" series he can then watch the Bastau concert performances if he still wants to continue his Dimash journey in chronological order. I'm really looking forward to his next reaction. 😊🏴👍

His mother is a classically trained singer, his father is a major music producer. They raised him in the tradition of "returning the son", which means his father's parents moved in with them and raised him as their own. Dimash is a cultural ambassador of Kazakhstan and speaks on behalf of his nation often. His parents/grandparents can only be proud. He says he will take a wife when he is 35. She will live with his parents and must love them first. Tall order as I would prefer to loved my betrothed first!! It's an amazing family dynamic!

It is mostly inspiring. It makes me want to work at my craft that much more and to perform. I really miss performing- touching an audience's heart, inspiring them and teaching them about themselves and what it means to truly love and give in this life. It's awe inspiring and a bit shocking still to see what he can do.

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dimash strain. He got close with his D8 at Gakko.
Even then he still made it look easy! Phenomenal! ☺
He did strain in some performances like Daybreak from the singer and his Earth song performance in China ( not the duet but the solo one ) but he was really sick both times espicially in Daybreak where he had to take 4 shots in the neck in order to be able to speak again let alone sing , and the Earth song he gave his word a month before and got sick only 3 days before the date but he decided to go anyway rather than disappointing the fans .

One thing that makes Dimash special is that he turns every cover and makes it his own. You mentioned violins and orchestra, all his arrangements are made by his best friend Erlan Bekchurin and all of them are amazing

You might also like to know that Dimash is a great humanitarian and philanthropist, he has a programme to bring on talented children from Kazakhstan and each year, and they can participate in a contest he arranges called Baqytty Bala and the winners each year have been invited to perform at Dimash's recent World tour and his previous tour and concerts. He has also generously donated to various charities and to energency relief including buying at least 5 tons of food for needy families in this covid-19 epidemic. He is an exceptional human being and never speaks of this work. So humble, kind and just wonderful 💖💖💖

If you want to see all of Dimash's range, react to Unforgettable Day at Gakku concert. This man can hit a sustained D8 note. I ultra-strongly recommend this. You haven't heard ANYTHING until you hear his D8 whistle.

Thank you for your analysis, Josh!! You might wanna go back to "Opera 2", which was the 2nd episode of the Singer. It's one of the performances from "The Singer" one should probably not miss, along with "Autumn Strong".
Dimash held his first major solo concert in Bastau in 2017, just a while after "The Singer". In this concert, he included a few songs that he also performed on "The Singer", like "Daybreak" and "The Diva Dance", but in Bastau the performances are undoubtably superior to the "Singer" ones. So, my suggestion is to go for "Opera 2" and "Autumn Strong" from the Singer and then move on to a couple of must-see performances from Bastau (definitely include "Daybreak").

At this point in his life Dimash's english was basically only 'hello my name is Dimash', and we Dears still love his broken accented english, though it is much improved and he is so happy when he is told so. The musicians in the Singer series are phenomenal aren't they? Glad you're enjoying the journey.

P.S. during "The Singer" he was only 22 yrs old and did not know any English but a couple words. So his English songs during the competition were a little "muddy" ---- but we "Dears" (what he calls his fans) love his "DINGLISH" and he puts so much of himself into it you don't care about the pronunciations!! :) :)
I agree with you, it's so nice to see how he just brings out the best in people and brings them together, so different, from different age groups and cultures, with professional musical training and with no understanding of it at all, he just touches your heart with music. You can see that not only in his fans, but even in all the reactions that people do. With him being so young and gifted beyond imaginable and with a lot of those reactors being well established voice coaches twice his age that were developing their skills all their life or young aspiring artists that would never be able to reach anywhere close to that musical ability. And you would think that you would see some professional jealousy and things like that but it's extremely rare that you would see even a hint of anything like that. Some people are so touched that are brought to tears. Some just smile like a child in front of a Christmas tree. He just doesn't happen to project this notion into the Universe of "look at me, I'm so gifted" that could have that reaction. He just shares his genuine love for music with his gift and I think people feel that. I'm grateful for his family and country for raising him right. And also really happy for him that he had an opportunity to start his career on a show that's really close to what he's about. Where despite it being a competition all the contestants just genuinely supported each other and shared their love for music.

At the same time I fell in love with Dimash's talent I really fell in love with his humanity. I can't quote him but he has said several times that if person allows stardom to rule their lives they are lost souls. He doesn't like show business. All he wants to do is sing.He wants his dears to feel joy leaving his concert. Dimash said he never gave much thought to his range. Range doesn't matter much to him. He assumed his range would drop but it didn't. He has travelled many countries for charity. There is a documentary showing how certain persons with cancer flew half way around the world to see him. If I find it I'll send it to you.
I hope you take Phil Harris suggestion below and stay with the singer, 2017. One song he didn't mention is Adagio, 2017. While looking for I am a singer performances listen to the ones interpreted by Gloria Wu. I know the dears want you to hear his later songs and I can't blame them. Dimash is an alien or a being from heaven. After you learn more about Dimash you will be convinced there is a special light surrounding him. Oh, one thing he said really surprised me. In an interview he said maybe he will stop performing by the age of 30! When asked why? He said he is not sure if he will have anything more to give. He was thinking of his dears not himself.
