- Melvin Smiley, a friendly hitman, is frequently deceived by his ruthless coworkers in the deadly profession. When he and his fellow assassins abduct the daughter of a wealthy electronics tycoon, Melvin ends up taking the blame when their major operation goes awry, as the girl happens to be the goddaughter of the gang's unforgiving crime leader. Despite evading gunfire, Melvin must also conceal his true occupation from his unsuspecting fiancée, Pam.

This might have been the most pure Hong Kong Cinema style movie Hollywood made with all the HK directors that came to U.S. in the 90s. The over the top characters would have been normal for a HK action/comedy.

It's cheesy af and the main plot is super predictable, but it's still always been one of my favorite movies that nobody has ever heard about. I love some of the dialogues.
Right? Those cheesy movies are the best! They just hit different, and the dialogues are pure gold!
