Nicole is the perfect match for the group, funny, comfortable to be with and a great camp cook..hope to see more of her on the trail with the Archive guys..thanks for the enjoyable videos
Nicole really brings a different dynamic and positive energy to the episodes she has been on. I really like her. Hope she tags along other episodes with you guys.
BREATHTAKING BEAUTY VIEWS COLORS SCENERY LANDSCAPE & AWESOME FOOTAGE 👌 GORGEOUS AREA ! YOU'LL HAVE SOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN ! THANK YOU 🙏 BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS 🙏 ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨
Thank you guys so much for shedding some positive light on my home state. A lot of people just see the bad in West Virginia and overlook the beauty that still lives here. Keep up the good work!
Your videos are great, you are like a hidden gem on RUclips. Please, keep making these videos! Also, you should travel to Northern Minnesota in the fall to hike the Superior Hiking Trail when the leaves are all changing :) Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures!!
This video was great on so many levels. First, you always eat much better meals when Nicole is on the trips, and I love her sense of humor. The scenery on this trip really beautiful and Robbie's music was so perfect, especially the Renaissance style counterpoint with those haunting intervals of fourths and fifths. The philosophical musings were appropriate as well. As humans we do need the experience of wild nature, especially in the Spring season to restore our souls.
Wow this episode was incredibly entertaining! Next pay check I will donate to your Patreon page! Keep up these group camping / hikes! Also it was nice to see a female addition to your adventures. She seems like a quality individual.
There's few instances in my life when I know I'm going to be the most relaxed and at ease that I can be... when I'm going out on my own adventures, and when I'm watching the amazing trips you share with us. Nicole hit the nail on the head, and its something I always try to keep in mind, the simple things in life are often the most satisfying. Thanks as always for sharing your adventures and for continuing to inspire us to get out and enjoy life's simple pleasures!
Thank you so much for the kind words! It is true, simple things can really make you feel very fulfilled and happy. Cheers, and thanks for watching! -Andrew
Horse hoof fungus were used in ancient times for transporting fire. You can place a small ember in the center of one, wrap it up with moss and it'll smolder for a long time. These embers were then used to start the next fire. Another great video...bravo!
I have only recently found your channel. But in the last couple weeks I have watched most of your content and I think it's amazing. The cinematography, the narration and general camaraderie between you guys is inspiring and SO enjoyable to watch. Question, have you ever thought about coming over to England or Scotland for one of your adventures? I can definitely recommend it :)
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you've been enjoying the videos :) And yes, absolutely - we would love to roam the English countryside, or to hike the Scottish highlands some day. Do you have any favorite places? Cheers! -Andrew
Your welcome Andrew! I've lived about a mile away from Dartmoor which is in the SW of England all my life and that landscape still takes my breath away to this day, I've hiked in many places but there is just something about Dartmoor, I think you guys would love it! And with Scotland you will be spoilt for choice, areas around Loch Lomund is like being put smack down into The Witcher 3 landscape, utterly beautiful! Can wait for your next adventure!
DUDES & DUDETTES! I'm a little late to the party, but this episode is just SO amazing. This is the second time I've watched it, and it just gets better the second time. Thank you for all the hard work. And Nicole is a great addition to the group....she fits right in with you guys! Only positive thoughts for your efforts.
Y'all seem like awesome friends and people to go camping with! When you were trying to make the perfect cup of coffee (or tea?) was so adorable. Y'all are the greatest.
Your videos are truly a gift. You have an uncanny ability to make me feel like I am going on the adventure with you. The universe being benevolent theme came to me at an interesting time in my life as I struggle to believe it sometimes. I admire your optimism. Your videos always put me at peace when I watch them.
Also violet tea and violet vinegar. It's best to dry the flowers for the tea. The vinegar can be used for a vinaigrette or it help to soothe skin irritation like sunburn. I don't know that any of your other episodes quite capture the essence of springtime like this one. I remember hearing the opening monologue for the first time and being moved by it emotionally. (Don't judge me!) To be in "nature's playground" is a beautiful feeling.
Thanks guys,,great stuff,,,my family has been in WV for 100's of years,,,so it is great to see it again since I have been gone for a long time,,,,,I hope as y'all grow older you still keep your adventures alive,,,life does tend to get in the way of them,,,,when you put something off today, you wake up 20 years later wishing you hadn't,,,,,yes it does go by that fast,,,,
Awesome video. 😎 25:24 That stuffed potatoes are a great idea, thanks.👍💯 My wife and I will definitely try it in our next camping trip. 🏕 37:38 Yeah, eating wild mushrooms is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. 🍄
Hey guys, I wanted to seriously Thank You for these videos. It was watching your hikes and hearing how you don't have to conquer the trail that finally pushed me. Instead of sitting here watching the outside pass me, I finally took my first hike today. I have had health problems related to my sedentary lifestyle and now I plan to beat them. If I had the money I would support you on Patreon, but alas, no cash, but again from the bottom of my heart, Thank You - Kyle.
Kyle, thanks so much for your comment! It really means a lot to us when we hear stories like this. I'm glad you went on your first hike, and I hope it was enjoyable! No worries at all about patreon, your viewership is enough, and thanks so much for watching! -Andrew
Your videos make me get out of the house and into the woods or to the water. Your videos make me smile. Enthusiastic innocence, unjaded eyes. Thanks guys...and girl who prepares such wondrous hobo meals and the only one of the guys that fishes( shame on you others). Pure inspiration! It's good to have you guys back home. The four of you are gonna make some awesome videos. God Bless
After a 3 months long road trip and random hikes in the west I'm happy to be back home to watch your videos and feel at ease again as if I was back in the mountains :) GRAZIE
We LOVE watching your videos of our beautiful West Virginia wilderness. My hubby and I just found your videos and when there isn't anything on TV we go to RUclips. The video is beautiful and the information is great. You are teaching this old teacher a thing or two. Makes me wish I had your adventures 40 years ago. For now we will camp and hike with our class A RV and watch your adventures.
Thank you so much guys...and gal. I recommend watching this twice: once just for the beauty of the experience and once to appreciate the technical artistry of your filming talents. A++++
Backpacking >25 years and still learning. 😀, always a good time when I can learn something new. Gonna try out those recipes and your firestarter. Thank you.
These videos are becoming more and more epic. I think you've found the fourth hobbit. Better keep Nicole, the girl can cook! I love the easy camaraderie among you.
I vibed with the campfire discussion. I work at a big company in a big city and I'm no where near as close to nature as I want to be--and more stressed out in my day to day than I have to be. I moved into the city for important career moves but I always have my eyes on the prize to get back to being close to nature. Your talks are vital and help me stay focused on getting back.
Thanks so much for the comment! I'm glad our video helped. It can definitely feel stressful living in a big city. Sometimes even finding local greenspaces can help escape for a bit. But we definitely set out to make these videos something people could enjoy when they're not able to get into nature themselves. Thanks for watching! :)
Another great video! And it's nice to see Nicole again. :) It's interesting, all the nice things you have to say about spring. Spring has always been my least favourite season, and I associate a lot of the 'all is right with the world' feelings with fall: bringing in the harvest, settling down for sleep, making a cozy home.
I needed that great journey with you guys and nicole. If only the philosophy of it was put to realization of the world we would truly be united Thank you
Finally finished and still humbled by the beauty of this video. I can see so much effort went into capturing every aspect. I appreciate all the scenes you must've had to film twice like the waterfall scene and capturing all 4 of you walking on the bridge. There are so many things that are well though put out and then there is just mellow majesty of the nature you captured. I like all the botany mixed in, trying plants and mushrooms. Most of all I just like the hangin parts where you guys are being yourselves. Nicole with her high fives, all the bits of silliness and wisdom you all drop. Just cool guy, thank you so much for filming this and sharing it with the world. Keep up the great work!
Man I really enjoy this channel. The videos that get put out are produced very well. And the group is very fun to watch. Andrew dropping bomb knowledge on those plants and fungi.
I’m always amazed at the stuff that comes out of your packs. Sometimes it’s a giant frying pan or a full size aluminum foil box but it always makes me chuckle because you guys take what makes you happy and what will make your trip better. Great work guys !
15:43 Ha! 19:27 always making me hungry. Lol @ the coffee talk. #spudplug. You need to do a spin off channel for just the food portion. Another enjoyable vid folks! Cheers!
I visited the New River Gorge bridge with my family and then we ate at the same pizza place afterwards. They have root beer on tap and it was literally the best root beer I have ever tasted in my life.
What a wonderful variety of wildflowers! I never see anything like that in the Spring in NW MO state parks and conservation areas-very few wildflowers and not a lot of variety either. Of course, there is nothing to compare with the scenery in New River Gorge either, having no gorges to speak of, being mostly farmland. And Glade Creek was really nice with all its rapids and waterfalls and being right next to the trail the whole way. Thanks for the nice adventure.
Gotta be in a pretty dark place to click thumbs-down on this. EPIC stuff guys. So glad to finally enjoy this one (was saving it for a month). Well done! Eric
This was a great video.. uplifting, good to see such a close group of friends doing what they love to do and sharing it with us... you are very lucky :)
Loved the episode! Beautifully shot. After watching this, I'm itching for an overnight hike :) Really enjoyed all of the plant and flower information in this episode too. You guys should bring Nicole along more often because she's awesome. I'm always looking forward to what food she's going to make!
doing this trail next week for my 18th birthday thanks to you guys. Y’all got me into backpacking when i found the channel last year and i’ve been doing it ever since. can’t wait to try to trail. fantastic video as always. you guys are so criminally underrated.
Bravo, guys! Really enjoyed this one. I especially like the 'surprisingly seductive tan lines' on the toast. hahaha And I'm always amazed at Andrew's encyclopedic knowledge of the local flora!
May I add to Devon Bumpkin comments on your " cinematography, the narration and general camaraderie between you guys ". You give a good balance of information with views, plus you share your camp site set ups and cooking which I find as interesting as any part of a backpacking adventure. I other words I don't feel like it a waste of time to enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work... When I was your age hiking we didn't have all the video options you get to enjoy today. Add a few GO PRO's to hats or chest rigs to get some extra editing options (as it you need them). Just saying take advantage of everything you can to keep the memories alive. OH and again... thank for sharing.
Thanks so much for the kind comments Steve!!! I really would like to look into a simple GoPro setup for when we get into situations where filming or setting up a tripod shot just isn't practical. ~Bry
How wonderful to share nature and human companionship with all of you. Love the videos. My family was from WVA so I miss all of this. Thanx for such a refreshing video. gigi
Oh my that top shelf Ramen... mmmm! Another great adventure! This is gonna sound stupid but I never noticed a snake breathing in real life.... very cool!!!
Your video is totally fun to watch. I just subscribed! love to watch it more... I'm very impressed with Andrew's knowledge of the flora, mushroom, and greens.
WOWOOOW.. Andrew...how can you know sooooo much about flora and mushroom?? very IMPRESSIVE!! If I'm to get lost in the WILD.. I want to get lost with you. haha.
Finally got round to watching this with my new headphones, amazing music as always, well done and hats off to you guys, loving the campfire vibes too, I always feel just as excited as you guys when that fire starts, Andrews speeches always gets me teary and reminds me that I'm not alone xx can't wait to see the next adventure as always. P.S please take Thomas with you, drag him if you have too, peace
I had such an exhausting first day of my internship where I had to clean the office car after relocating 300 frog tadpoles from a construction site. So thank you so much for this
New Patron here! Been watching you guys for the past couple months now, keep up the great work! I know someone has already mentioned it, but you guys would kill it on the north shore of Minnesota. Superior hiking trail to be exact, very underrated area. Thank you for such great content, it's been a pleasure to watch!

The morning coffee making was quite funny.

You guys had me geeking over the coffee, pure happiness:) I'm getting ready to go out in the woods for long-term. I need a break from society

Nice job again guys. Nice to see Nicole again as well, she adds good perspectives to the videos.

ROBBIE, you make this music???
You're the man.
Another great video! And it's nice to see Nicole again. :) It's interesting, all the nice things you have to say about spring. MORELS!!!!! Now help me find some in cbus. Only once have I found them here in 10 years. It was while riding my bike funny enough.
I visited the New River Gorge bridge with my family and then we ate at the same pizza place afterwards. They have root beer on tap and it was literally the best root beer I have ever tasted in my life.
Love the New River Gorge! White water rafting is a must down there. Pies and Pints for the win!!
55:20 Love the NASA shirt!
I love the music in this one! It sounds like the perfect soundtrack to an epic rpg of old.
AdentureArchive... you guys are lucky to have NICOLE on the journey. She's an amazing cook.
Thanks Guys for a wonderful episode, the quality of picture and sound is outstanding

A good cook from the fire pit is totally deliciouuuuus..
Gotta be in a pretty dark place to click thumbs-down on this. EPIC stuff guys. So glad to finally enjoy this one (was saving it for a month). Well done! Eric

I had such an exhausting first day of my internship where I had to clean the office car after relocating 300 frog tadpoles from a construction site. So thank you so much for this
Really glad we could help with a stressful day! Hope your internship is less exhausting now, and thank you for watching! -Andrew
Robby was right, the narration is phenomenal Andrew :)
We'd love to do the Superior Hiking Trail some day!
