      It's funny you mention that ... I was just thinking today about how much the algo (the ultimate black box of human psychology) pulls the strings of the world. There is no monetary incentive for making these videos, so I emotionally live and die by anything that appears to be enjoyment from the masses. On rare occasions, I can please the algo with my sacrifice and am rewarded with 48 hours of fleeting publicity, for which I am always grateful.

      Yeah- I've got to be careful ... now that I have a proper flight stick, we may be seeing a lot more like it. 😎

    Never even considered flying out here, now it's on my todo list in the sim!
    BTW, TSD stands for Tactical Situation Display, and the "bullseye" in the hud as noted by a previous commentor is the velocity vector! Military stuff is a whole new can of worms when it comes to acronyms and phraseology

    • @MSFSFlightPlans
      @MSFSFlightPlans  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I'm just dipping my toe into the modern fighters. Once I get my flight stick, I'll probably enjoy it even more. Do you know if they have any shorthand for the velocity vector, or is that as short as it gets? Those guys have acronyms for everything, so I figured they might have one for that thing, too. Also, it the TSD the whole HUD "picture" or something more specific?

    • @LingTheBug
      @LingTheBug 10 месяцев назад

      @@MSFSFlightPlans it'll be MUCH more fun once you have a stick! I personally run the X56 with Saitek pedals, so much fun.
      As for the velocity vector, I'm honestly not sure if I've seen a shorthand. I've always just heard it called a velocity vector.. but I'm also fairly new to the fighter scene too, with only some to moderate experience in DCS and VTOL VR.
      The TSD is specifically a page on the multifunction displays that the fighters have, you pulled it up on the display of the aircraft on the right side @4:53 in the video, and it offers an overview of the tactical situation at a glance. Things from known enemy and friendly positions, radar pings sometimes (afaik, depends on the aircraft?), bounds of Area of Operations (AO) that you're operating in, etc.
      Welcome to fighters, it's a new and wild world you're jumping into!

    • @MSFSFlightPlans
      @MSFSFlightPlans  10 месяцев назад

      Ahhhh - okay, I know what you're talking about. I think I even said, "TSD-1 ... I don't know what that means," which I'm guessing is what prompted you to TELL me what it means ; ). Yeah, I'm already fantacizing about flying these things in VR.

    Great looking landscape, especially when you account for South America has not gotten and World Updates yet. The ASOBO team has said there is one in the works for 2024, but they said that for 2023 too.

    • @MSFSFlightPlans
      @MSFSFlightPlans  10 месяцев назад

      Yep. And it's a little hit or miss, too. A good chunk of the Andes are easily the best mountains in the sim, but then you have cities like Sao Paulo which are disasters. If you haven't checked out our Tajikistan flight, give that one a peek. Another hidden gem of mountainous beauty.
      I'd say I'm eagerly awaiting 2024, but ... well, you know.

    If what you called the bullseye is the thing on your HUD that shows you where you'll end up if you keep flying, that's the flight path indicator

    • @MSFSFlightPlans
      @MSFSFlightPlans  10 месяцев назад

      Yes! Thank you. I figured there was probably a much more technical name for that. I can only imagine what kind of processing power goes into working that kind of math out on the fly (pardon the pun).
      So I guess it would have to figure in ground speed, air speed, vertical speed, wind direction and speed ... anything else?

      @@MSFSFlightPlans Mostly da62 but occasional substitutes for c414 and c310r on some legs for the fun of it. Going from Australia eastwards around the world hitting almost every single country and zigzagging all over the place for interesting landmarks. Just coming north into the southern Caribbean at the moment.
      Keeping a spreadsheet to keep track of total flight time, fuel usage, fuel efficiency, etc.

    Awesome area! I may even have to get this plane. I don’t normally fly fighter jets because they’re so complicated but this one looks easier to learn, and VTOL is super cool. Thanks for another great one!

    • @MSFSFlightPlans
      @MSFSFlightPlans  11 месяцев назад +1

      It's definitely a neat plane. It does way more cool stuff that I didn't get into in the flight, and if you get it from anywhere but the MSFS Marketplace, I heard it comes with weapons ... just in case you want to blow up a mountain.

      I've been trying to think about whether or not I've seen one in real life yet. They have a big airshow out here in Jax every year, but I don't recall seeing one in their lineup. You're right about the poulation thing. The cities ... yeah, a little stuffy. The rest of the world, not so much. If the ice is gone in another 100 years, that'll take care of most of the coastal density. Maybe we'll reset the board a bit then.
