In January 2023, he pursued an opportunity to join the Pittsburgh Maulers in the USFL. This would turn out to be a positive move for Foster, who started in all eight games and racked up 53 tackles, five pass deflections, and an interception.
To no fault of his own, the Maulers folded when the USFL merged with the XFL to form the new United Football League (UFL).
In early 2024, Foster was picked up by the Houston Roughnecks in the UFL dispersal draft. He put up solid numbers once again, playing in eight games and recording 30 tackles, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and another interception.
But history has a way of repeating itself. I’m not sure what caused this, but he was put on injured reserve later that year. By August, the Roughnecks waived him but quickly claimed him by the Arlington Renegades.
During the recording of this video, there isn’t much about his transition to the Arlington Renegades … but wherever he ends up, I am sure he will find a way to make plays on the field. Now 30 years old he still has a handful of years to ball out on the field, I don’t anticipate him making his way on another NFL roster, but crazier things have happened. Although he has a rocky past, I still respect his work ethic and will always remember this guy as the Hardest Hitting Linebacker in College Football.
