Well considering what Teal'c has had to deal with for most of his life (keep in mind he would be 109 years old during this scene), dealing with 3 unarmed thugs IS a walk in the park for him. He led a rebellion against beings with technology far beyond ours after being a soldier for them for most of his life. He is also not human. Jaffa were originally created by the Goa'uld genetically modifying humans, but he is much stronger than normal humans, heals much faster, and has a much longer lifespan.
@Rohan Luke He takes tretonin though, which is made from symbiotes, and gives him most of the same abilities. Not *quite* as much as a symbiote did (in fact an earlier episode has him go through a sort of personal crisis regarding that), but it still definitely gives him most of the symbiote benefits.
Funny you should mention Zen. It comes from the Hindu word "Dhyan" - which means meditation. That, coupled with Teal'c's forehead mark, distinctly makes him resemble Shiva, the Meditating God of Annihilation.
Well when you hit someone with your head you try to angle it in the same well because the skull is very strong there. It hurts but when push comes to shove...
In MMA we often take a jab to a forehead, just block it with top of ur head, we dont do we when someone swings with all force, especially someone whos 100kg +, but i guess teal'c can :P
Tucking your chin and ducking is a real thing. Hitting the top of a skull is more likely to give a boxers fracture (very painful) than to cause serious injury to the punched
Done that way, it's effective. Fists are best used against soft targets, unless you've trained yourself to be able to hit hard targets, and the top of the head is a very hard target.
Apparently headbutting a punch is a sound tactic. It's actually something that boxers and MMA fighters do to deal with opponents who go for jabs a lot. The reason is, your forehead is the strongest part of your skull, and your attacker is far more likely to damage their hand than cause you any real injury. Plus, as we know, Teal'c has a tattoo on his forehead made of solid gold. That's gonna do some damage.
It’s not just about how hard your skull is in comparison to a hand but the mechanics behind punching. Simply put the most amount of force behind a punch is at the when the full movement has been made and connects to a target. Stopping the momentum halfway through the process your body goes through to actually throw a punch drastically reduces its effectiveness. It’s not a hard and fast rule because everyone is different so force generated during the process is different for each person.
Legend has it that Ryu and Ken trained under Teal'c to learn the Jaffa Uppercut. Neither could master it, but used their training to develop a lesser version that became known as the _Shoruken._
Was this the episode where he moved out of the SG Command and moved into an apartment? Where Teal'c was getting to know his new neighbors? Best Sci-Fi show hands down, they could have branched off so much more than what they did do. Like lets say.....SG2 and so on and so much more galaxy's to explore and new enemies to fight man the list could go on for decades to come!!! LOL
*Teal’c* moves to the hood where he meets a human named *Krista* then *Teal’c* begins confronting and beat-up the bad humans, then *Krista James* and the nice humans begin feeling happy because *Teal’c* decided to move to the hood, then *Krista James* naturally begin feeling affection for *Teal’c* then naturally *Krista James + Teal’c* begin having *sex* etc.
?? How is he not besides him speaking perfect English with no accent is he so different from some of the older generation immigrants who came to the us
When Teal'c's hair looked good. I usually find Chris Judge an odd looking fellow, but when he keeps it simple (i.e. no makeup, weird man bun or hair relaxer), he's a handsome guy. It was so cool how the rest of SG-1 rallied to help Teal'c later in this episode. They had a really nice dynamic as did the Atlantis cast.
I will never not like Teal'c's subplot with interacting with common society. A hardened Jaffa warrior who served a false god looking to live a peaceful life and helping those in need.
The music is so fitting lol ^_^ If I were teal'c, then those guys would be lucky they didn't continue, considering that I'd probably ended up snapping necks so I could dispose those garbage away >.
As one who lives in the place where this was shot, I'd just like to point out that Teal'c lives in an extremely choice building off a busy, but nice street with a great view.
Lol !!! These knuckleheads had no idea they were picking a fight with the greatest martial artist in the entire galaxy !!!! 🤣 Teal'c is one awesome dude, and defintely needs to return in any future Stargate series !!!!!
Stargate GTA1
Lmao!
That's actually a pretty good title. 👍🏻
Main character Teal'c goes around PREVENTING car jackings and doesn't go on silly freight stacking missions. Nope, he goes kicking some Goa'uld ass.
This is pretty funny
"You messed with the wrong Jaffa, fool."
Love the zen smile he has plastered all over his face. It's like he's walking his dog in the park on a lovely summer day.

The Teal'c upper cut...the most devastating punch since the Klingon backhand.
Kalentros rivaled only by the Vulcan nerve pinch and Jason David Frank’s triple roundhouse kick
Second only to the Kirk double fist.
Tiger .... Tiger... TEALCERCUT!!!!
Don’t forget the Roadhouse Patrick Swayze kick…..Rooaadhouse!!

Dunno about you but to me he looks like Luke Cage

I guess having a reinforced forehead helps when you block punches with it.

I was actually thinking along those lines. I read about that as well somewhere before.
The front of the head is actually extremely well fortified compared to every part of the human body
Top of the head is supposedly the hardest part of the human body.
Can we all just appreciate that Teal'c chose to block a punch with, of all things, his head?
Tucking your chin and ducking is a real thing. Hitting the top of a skull is more likely to give a boxers fracture (very painful) than to cause serious injury to the punched
There is a great movie called "Gladiator" (not Russell Crowe) "Top of the head kid; hardest part if the body."
I bet hitting that gold emblem hurt
Done that way, it's effective. Fists are best used against soft targets, unless you've trained yourself to be able to hit hard targets, and the top of the head is a very hard target.
Teal'c is the only who can block a punch with his face and look like a badass doing it.
Apparently headbutting a punch is a sound tactic. It's actually something that boxers and MMA fighters do to deal with opponents who go for jabs a lot. Not a face but top of the head and its a real thing. Skull is very thick there.
@@chrisevans6548 this kind of punch can destroy a man's Fist.

To be fair: he tried to deescalate and requested correct procedure, they _all_ swung first. He's 100% in the clear.
not in current year. Criminals are the ones who are defended in court.

that final cut away with Teal'c in a power stance, wind blowing his fit gently, with bodies strewn around him. chef's kiss
