You two are really good influencers for the Ranger boats....as to what can be done with one. Even pull it across the states to Florida to visit the Bahamas! You've shown that Ranger boats are very capable little boats. I'm liking them more and more after watching your videos. Y'all do everything so safely! I can't wait to see how your Ranger boat handles crossing from Florida to the Bahamas.
Thanks TMac we really love the boat . The Bahamas trip was fantastic. I must admit I didn't do the best job recording each spot because everything was so new to me and once it passed I often thought ...oh no, I should have filmed that ! Michael was busy handling the boat .... I'm still in awe of these channels that record all the action....we are a couple of old dogs learning new tricks every day. Thanks for the support.
What works better for me when strapping down our C Dory 25 on the trailer is to use one long strap that goes over the aft part of the cockpit and is hooked to the trailer frame port and starboard and tightened from the cockpit. I used to use the same system you have with straps port and starboard to the cleats (on a C Dory 22). The one strap system is easier and avoids any metal contact with the boat (the one strap system came from the previous owner of the boat). Just a thought. Thank you for your informative series of videos.
Hi 🙂 I just found you this morning. Nice low key show on the water. I love your boat. Mine is a Sea Ray named, Sea Jay. It's a 300DA berthed at Bridgehead Marina in Antioch, CA in F shed. 18 minutes from home to boat right at the gangway. Super easy access. Our area is the San Francisco Bay Area and the California Delta. Coastal cruising to Santa Cruz and alike. We can't trailer our boat due to beam, weight and height but we would really like to. We did hire a company to move to Lake Oroville one season but, the lake is too small for boat this big and had them move it back. That was an investment we don't want again. The big thing here is no bugs! ~ Well a few. Full camper canvas prevents the hassle. Thank you for sharing. Cheers
Hello Jay, so glad you found us ! Your neck of the woods is beautiful and so different from ours. Julia has had family out your way and loved the SF Bay Area. How lucky to have access to your boat so close to home. We truly feel it helps us decompress from life . Thanks for your comments and stay tuned for more episodes
Look at getting a Bluetooth Tire Pressure Management system, (TPMS). Simple to use, and will give you current tire pressure as well as temperature . Early warning to tire or bearing failure and can get decent ones for less than 200 bucks. Sensors just replace the valve cap. I like the plastic on the hull and windshield you used. Thanks.
nice video have subscribed as I love boating channels like tally ho Leo's Boat and ship happens as these are boat restoring channels and sailing Melody and Sailing Flying Coney and many more so I will be back watching all your videos I will put a like and comment on all videos so all the best from John from Rugby UK.
B&C, how wonderful to have viewers in the Netherlands other than Julia's family! The foot is healing slowly . We have learned that spider bites are nasty and can take a very long time to get through your system. The Bahamas trip was fantastic. Stay tuned for more episodes soon....tot ziens!
Thanks for sharing. Its good to see whats possible, and nice to see two people share the same retirement dream. Quick question about your trailer and tow rig. What do you do with it for the 3 months you’re at sea? I’ve heard nice secure marinas in FL charge $20-30 a day storage. That may be fine for a weekend trip, but thats quite an expense for months. Less expensive options do not have a good reputation for security, again so Ive heard. What is the best option you have found? Thanks.
Hello Gary, we are fortunate to have friends in the Keys where we store our things. It is very challenging to find anything safe and affordable there to store truck and trailer. Sorry we cannot be more helpful.
@@expeditionseanest No problem. Thanks for the response. That is a good option. Now to just purchase a live aboard, make friends with Floridian’s, trailer across the country and hit the Bahamas. Maybe one day. Ill just keep watching your channel until then.
We have parked the van and trailer at several commercial lots but are currently parking on the property of a friend. We would definitely recommend doing your homework as it is very, very difficult to find an economical and safe place in the keys due to its proximity to Miami and weekenders coming to the Keys. Good luck
L, the towing capacity of the chevy express is 7,400 lbs . Not sure how much the boat weight would be fully loaded, sorry . Dry weight is 6500 lbs from the website.
We currently park at a friend's place. In the past we scoured the Florida Keys and have used commercial storage. Lots of options but none of them are perfect. They cram you in like sardines.

I saw my first Sea Ranger in Northern MI last summer. I've been intrigued ever since!
Yes , we are often stopped by people who see us at anchor, on the dock or trailering . The Ranger Tug is quite a unique design. We love it!
Can't wait to hear about the Bimini trip!
It was awesome Ralph, stay tuned!

Watching with my wife, here in the Netherlands. Curious on your trip to the Bahamas. Thanks for your efforts, and get well soon.

Planning a keys trip with our Ranger 25. Where did you park the truck and trailer for such a long trip? Thanks for all your fabulous videos!!
Parked at a friend's place. Enjoy your trip
Love ranger tugs! We have a cottage on Georgian bay. Are you planning on coming up again this summer?
We absolutely plan to return to Georgian Bay again this summer ! Such a wonderful place . Lucky you to have a cottage there!

What bracket do you use for your dingy motor on the transom?

Wondering if you used the same plastic film on the windshield. Did you have any padding underneath to protect the windshield?
Same plastic on both . But, we are considering making a bra for the windshield to protect it from stone chips. So far nothing has gotten that high.
That plastic seems like a great idea - can you share where you got it?
Never mind- I see you included it thanks
Glad you found it.
Great video. How heavy is the fully loaded boat plus the trailer all together? Can you share the towing capacity of your van? Thanks so much!
