One of the greatest body punchers of all time! Alexis Arguello was an incredible fighter with near perfect fundamentals. El Flaco Explosivo! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod
Love Arguello, one of my all time favorite boxers. Pure class, skill and a beautiful fighting style. Every punch he threw was picture perfect, like watching an artist in the ring.
Growing up in a Nicaraguan American house hold Alexis Arguello was Boxeo. Thank you for Always giving all these great fighters the recognition and respect they deserve!
To this day, I still think Aaron Pryor vs Alexis Arguello 1 is the best fight I have ever seen. It had everything a boxing fan wants to see. A true classic.
This is the finest and most over looked fighter of the last 40 years, at least. 14 knockouts over former, current or future champions and that was at a time when being a champion meant you earned it. A devastating fighter, a gentleman and, unlike so many " champions", when he said anytime, anywhere, he meant it. With all do respect, I heard F. Mayweather say he would have loved to have fought Arguello. Props to him for saying it but, given his history, there is NO WAY Mayweather would have been talked into getting into a ring with this man. This is a man that was robbed of history by a drugged out punk and the boxing commission. On a personal level, years ago I had a daughter that was born far to early. I asked the doctor what her chances were? He explained that there was little hope but she was a fighter. I named her Alexis. RIP to both of them!

One of the best boxers ever in terms of using his reach. A lot of people think that reach is only a use defensively, but Alexis was elite at hitting guys on the very end of his punches, to the head and body
Arguello had a complete offensive arsenal, all his punches had perfect form, and he knew how to use his height. In his prime, he was the perfect boxer.

Never ever seen a more powerful strait right. For his weight I think he was the most powerful puncher ever. I dont even think duran had the same zing to his punches. If Alexis was a natural heavyweight, he would have been the most powerful puncher in the history of the ring, in my opinion. Even harder than Marciano, foreman, and anyone else. Very powerful, athletic, and a really good fighter to boot. That strait right he gave kevin rooney tells the story of his power. Just listen to it! Like gettin hit by a rocket!
One of, if not my favorite boxer of all time. He met his rival in the Hawk Pryor, but Arguello had it all. Razor sharp offense, responsible defense, and class to boot. It didn't get any better than "El Flaco Explosivo."
The greatest Super Featherweight ever! A true ATG. Should’ve beat Pryor if not for Panama’s scumbag tactics. Alexis vs Duran and Chavez would’ve been great. Awesome vid!
El mejor de todos, simplemente EL CABALLERO DEL RING el gran e inolvidable Alexisis Arguello....faltaron los combates con Alfredo escalera, él de su 3er titulo y algunos con mexicanos. Saludos.!!
I remember asking my coach who I should study in order to learn how to throw body shots (I was tall for my weight class) and Alexis was who he referred me to

Great video! It’s just a pleasure to watch body punchers do there thing. Some fighters just take to body punching naturally. Like some fighters love the left hook. Most body punchers just have a resilient nature about them. Guess you have to when fighting in the lions den.🦁
Crazy how I just came across this guys name and looked him up, saw the 4yr old video and didn't like the formatting for it, scrolled down and see you dropped an updated one a day ago. I'm lucky you're so consistent.

If I want to quickly check out a fighter that is appearing on an upcoming card I always swing by here to check them out and am never dissapointed with what I find. Recently I've been looking for a video that compilates masters using pull counters, so if you have the time and energy that would be a beaut! Many thanks and great job!
My fellow country man and neighborhood hero Alexis Arguello i got the pleasure to meet him as a kid around 6 yrs old. My older brother trained at his gym.
AA’s keys to victory 1. Head over lead knee when throwing to the left hook to the body. 2. Head over right knee while throwing to the body. Understand Alexis wasn’t a stand up fighter.
Arguello’s legendary stature as a boxer wold be even greater but for that bottle of ‘water’ mixed (Why does pure water needs mixing?) by the crook Panama Lewis.

What a fighter. Equally hurtful to the body with left and right. A true gentleman of the game too.
Amazingly accurate with hooks to the body.
I love nice body work.
Ray Mancini called him the nicest man he ever met outside the ring and the most dangerous inside of it.
Truly a legend.
Love Arguello, one of my all time favorite boxers. Pure class, skill and a beautiful fighting style. Every punch he threw was picture perfect, like watching an artist in the ring.
That was a fighting gentleman, make no mistake about it. His timing and punch selection (an underappreciated talent) were absolutely perfect.

If you haven’t already then James Toney vs Mike mcCallum is also a very good fight!
And crack.
Pryor cheated. See Luis Resto interviews. Also trained by Panama Lewis. Arguello was the real champion.
Cheater
The only flaw in that fight is that Alexis lost.
