The greatest performance of El Gran Campeón's incredible career! Julio Cesar Chavez put on a dominant display against the great Edwin "El Chapo" Rosario in their 1987 clash for the WBA Lightweight title. Chavez landed a staggering 450 out of 743 punches (61%) and totally outclassed the great champion putting on a complete masterclass in offensive fighting. Rosario later went on to win another title at Lightweight while Chavez dominated his era for many years. J.C. Superstar at his absolute peak! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod
@@Bankai_Musashi1I’ve already got a Hearns jab highlight and I’ve covered Leonard’s defensive skills, you should see some great footwork in that video.
The greatest Mexican boxer of all time. 88 straight wins 94 fights unbeaten. Only Patrick Fareland at 98 wins 112 unbeaten. ❤the greatest Irish boxer. 😂
This was a pressure fighting master class Chavez for me is the greatest pressure fighter I’ve seen calm poker face greet chin great body puncher knew how to be the boss in the ring great head movement whilst coming forward knows how to control and smother you using his head belt his eyes open in traffic, he would perfectly build pressure up each round. Defo my favourite all time fighter
Aww man then do you have a vast history to look after my good man. Yes Chaves is the most technically sound pressure fighter but there were some that their opponents said it felt like they were literally suffocating in there. Dudes cut off the ring so well the oxygen levels in the ring went down cause it was like they was sharing a breath how close they were 😭
@@HaraDuran I love Duran he’s my 2nd favourite fighter I found Duran to be more of a aggressive counter puncher but could defo be a great pressure fighter if he wanted but I believe Chavez was a better pressure fighter but Duran was a better all round fighter and would’ve beat Chavez imo
Many people just focus on just the knockouts, but Chavez was a complete fighter. Power, defense, bending, footwork, granite chin etc. That Rosario fight was a legendary clinic.
Chavez’s tour de force performance. This is the quintessential display of in-fighting. Every boxer should watch this fight if they want to learn how to properly fight in the pocket, especially against a bigger puncher.
Really appreciate this style of HL, showcasing a specific beautiful boxing performance! Keep working hard, you're my favorite creator on RUclips, your eye is excellent.
His bending was so underrated. One of boxing finest. Chavez was a master, the way he slipped punches in the inside at a very close distance is poetry in motion, his bending was so good he didn’t even require footwork to angle off.
This was the 1st time i ever saw or heard of Chavez! When ITV used to have a REAL commitment to boxing excellence. Id heard of Rosario and knew him to be a good or at least very decent fighter with a good punch. And Julio, basically, just took him APART! Piece by piece. Round after round, & reassembled him into smaller, neater pieces. I was impressed then. And im impressed by the work now. Respect Hanz
Este Chávez en ligero era espectacular. En superligero le llegaron las grandes peleas pero en este peso era imparable, me hubiera gustado verlo contra Whitaker en ligero
One fact adding to the greatness to this fight is that Rosario's landed his fair share of heavy punches although way lesser than Chavez but none of them seem to bother Chavez who at the end seems like he just came into the ring before the start of the fight and Rosario seems like he had 20 people beat him all at once. Tremendous heart from Rosario who never backed down from any exchanges.RIP Chapo Rosario
I bet many of the fighters Chavez fought (and beat) WISH he had one-punch KO power-because being KO’d quickly would have saved them from the tremendous beating he inflicted on them round after round.
I saw Rosario take apart livingstone bramble a very tough Jamaican fighter and Rosario did short work of bramble , so I thought he would do the same to Chavez , but that’s when I discover Chavez was no scrub 😮😢
Aged out Chavez? 😂 Chavez was only 2 years older than Pernell & was 87-0 & Pound-4-Pound King when Pernell whooped his ass for 10 rounds. If the fight were sooner Chavez would've won about 4 rounds, same outcome 🤣
@@Bankai_Musashi1 2 years older with a lot more mileage, moving up in a weight he was never meant for, and drug addicted. Whitaker was given a contract to unify with Chavez should he beat Jose Luis Ramirez in 1988. Whitaker and his team refused to sign it and that's why Whitaker didn't get the decision in that fight. Whitaker also practically skipped 140 because Chavez was there. Whitaker ducked and aged out Chavez, sorry man.
@@Moistureslife he didn't skip 140 at all, he literally won a title there & was interested in bigger fights at 140, keep making excuses. A win is a win, he made Chavez look like an amateur for 10 rounds 🤣 try to make ur own narrative all u want
@@Bankai_Musashi1 He went to 147 as soon as he won the title at 140. I'm guessing you never watched his post fight interviews. You can be lenient on cowards and ducks all you want. Whitaker will never get full credit for the Chavez fight and he shouldn't.
Rosario was tailor made for Chavez’s style. Little head movement, not much footwork, and absolutely preferred to be working on his front foot. Bad, bad, bad.
Rosario had the frustrating habit of infighting when he didnt have to, he played right into Chavez, similar with his 2nd fight with Nazario, he he used the entire ring he was devastating for eg: with Camacho,Bramble,Garza,Nazario 1,even with Ramirez in both fights

Can you please do a video on Philip Ndou or Cassius Baloyi.
You ever consider making a Leonard footwork edit or Tommy jab edit?

Nobody threw that left hook to the body better than Chavez.

In his prime, with his pace… he was basically impossible to prepare for. He had the best inside hand defense EVER.

Always surprised me how tough Rosario was, how did he even manage to make it to the 11th round?

Chavez best fight in his prime. Against a powerfull puncher
Chavez has the scariest will to fight I have ever seen in a boxer ….true fighter 💯
