The undertaker is a very simple character to understand. He’s a undead Undead zombie with superpowers, and was also a cult leader, and has a half brother they can shoot fire, and can disappear and teleport when ever he wants, and has murdered people live on PPV, and also became a baker for a couple years, and can shoot fire and lightning when he wants, and has druids, and can come back from the dead whenever he wants, and really likes wearing hats, and might actually work for the devil, and can drag people to hell when he wants. and is a proud American, and also just happens to be a pro wrestler it all makes perfect sense.
Ah yes, my personal favourite Undertaker was when he began baking for those handful of years. Seeing him cook bread and decorative those cakes was great television.
Never overpushed. Always a draw when the company needed him. Always willing to do what is best for wrestling. Respected by all. To me, he is the Greatest of all time.
He's had the most consistent, but gentle push since winning his first WWE title in 91. They smashed him over for a year then used him enough to get over but not dry him out.
As a burn survivor and being a kid at the time. I felt like I wasn't alone when Kane debuted. I still thought it was real. But gave me hope hey If he can do it. I can do anything. Thanks Glenn!
The fact that always astounded me most was how few championships he won and the relatively short length of those reigns. Its really how they should book the fiend.
He would get hurt; injuries shortened his reigns. So, they ultimately decided to use him has a chaser instead. Worked out both ways because he was an attraction without the belt.
@@partsFUNknown Same as Andre. A special attraction who was so over that he didn't need the strap to get over. When they wanted to elevate the title, they gave it to Taker.
This video really encapsulates the absolute legend of Undertaker so well! Even with the bumps in the road, he achieved a level of disbelief that so many wrestlers dreamed of achieving. He truly is the greatest of all time!
I still say that if the Undertaker debuted today it wouldn’t have the same weight as internet fans and the curtain being pulled back so to speak would have meant he’d be torn apart
Damn. This was amazing to watch. The Undertaker's feud with Kane remains my favorite even after all these years. Two big guys in the ring - with fire and fury.... there was nothimg better. Laurie did an excellent job here. Taker would be proud to view this, I'm so glad I got to see it early.
We are all truly lucky to have witnessed such an amazing character, legend, story & legacy. I feel privileged to have watched every second of it...From his days in Memphis & WCW in the 1980s...to his debut at Survivor Series 30 years ago...every Wrestlemania match, every title reign, every battle, every war, every foe & every step along the way. It has truly been an AWESOME RIDE! ⚱️
How dare this video be so esoteric, deep, and chillingly poignant. I've never thought about wrestling that way, but putting Taker in that light... Jesus that is awesom.
This series are amazing. They way you explain stuff, the lore... I get intrigued to know more about something I thought I already knew and I finish the video knowing more than before watching the video. It captivates my attention. Really great job, keep this videos rolling, rolling, rolling, they are great
First wrestling match I ever saw was Taker winning the title against Hogan. I was 9. It began a near 30 year obsession. I was enthralled with Taker. I hated Hogan. He's still my favourite wrestler to this day.
To me, Taker can be summed up in a single quote from Macho Man Randy Savage during WrestleMania IX as he made his way to the ring on the chariot with the live vulture/buzzard. "How can a man, who surrounds himself with so much darkness, shed so much light around the world?" For 3 decades, this man has kept, curated and established this incredible mythos that has effectively stood the test of time. What he has done for the industry as a whole, is almost incalculable. He added so much complexity and nuance, that he was impossible to ignore and the universe has embraced him and felt a deeper connection to him, than maybe some of the more "wholesome" characters. I for one, will be a devoted Child of the Night, till i die Thank you Taker
It's an overused phrase, but The Undertaker truly is THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Hands down...Words cannot describe how much The Undertaker has meant to the WWE, the entire professional wrestling world, and myself personally. There will NEVER be anyone else like him...and his legacy & legend will live on forever!
Great video Laurie 👍 Fave Undertaker moment its really hard for one single moment to stand out in such a legendary career. Theres the casket with Diesel, matches with Foley, the ministry, announcing Kane loves poontang. One thing that Id always remember is that chair shot he gave Maven after the Tough Enough rookie eliminated Taker from that Rumble. The boneyard match was a perfect way for Undertaker to ride off into the sunset in a blaze of glory too. Looking forward to the 2 hour special of Broken Skull Sessions and hearing more stories from the Deadman 😁

I like the fact that the word "Undertaker" sounds like someone who will take you, you know, under? What's under according to lore? Yes, Hell.. Sounds like someone that will take you to hell, I always loved that character, thank you Undertaker!
Despite the set backs I had earlier from watching this, I personally thought this was amazingly done! As for my favorite Undertaker moment, I guess it has to be his "revival" on Wrestlemania XX against Kane. From The American Badass back to the Deadman, the entrance alone already gave me goosebumps.
Please do Sting explained. I never watched WCW so I never quite understood the character and I would love to see you do a video on him. Plus it's good timing with his AEW debut.
The way you described him was SPOT ON!!! a aging demi god who must beat down and uplift the youth to keep his legacy alive and toughen up the new breed of warriors coming up while putting down the warriors of the past, never realizing or accepting when it was his time to go. For me, If the deadman has one more match, There is only two guys from the current roster who can represent times are changing and the deadman is not needed, Aleister Black and The Fiend
Brothers of Destruction live in Melbourne, Australia with the big lads stopping on their way up the ramp for the fists raised in salute will always be one of my most powerful wrestling memories. Great video as always Laurie!
The first match I ever watched was Undertaker vs Bret Hart at the Royal Rumble 1996 and I’ve been obsessed with the character ever since. I remember my dad and I always cheered for the Undertaker when I was a child, but he took Kane’s side during their initial feud and started liking Kane and I kept cheering for the Undertaker so we had a playful little feud over that during these first few Brothers of Destruction matches. Now that he’s gone, they are fun memories that I can enjoy, and it’s thanks to the Undertaker, which is a gimmick and a character that really helped a child cope with death. ⚱️
The fact that the man who was first described as "That Hamhock" is a living legend of this industry is all the proof you need that this is a weird and beautiful passtime.
The Undertaker IS my end all, be all! I loved him in WCW and when i saw him in 1990, at my favorite Survivor Series, actually i remember him a few days before on WWF TV, i was HOOKED! There wont be anyone that can ever be as mesmerizing as he was and is, not even Hogan! Taker is THAT ONE!
Massive respect for even trying to make this video, even more for executing it in a way that would make the deadman himself blush. As always and amazing video, didn't regret watching a second of it.
My favorite undertaker moment of all time was from a house show that me my brother and my dad went to in Memphis Tennessee at the pyramid the undertaker was fighting yokozuna and he grabbed him to drop him with the tombstone but he held him for a good 2 to 3 minutes just standing there showing his power it was amazing

I remember reading a rumour earlier in the day that he might be there and chatting about it to my mate who I went with, all the while not holding my breath because I just thought, why would he turn up at a random Raw in the gloomy mid autumn. Then as the show went on, it built up to Wyatt doing his eulogy which was the main event segment and I wondered why it would be the last thing on the show, still not believing he would be there. Keep rolling rolling rolling on in the sunset undertaker
Thx taker
My favorite undertaker will still be the original sorta
Cowgoth
Old west preacher/casket maker
I do wonder how close he was from being billed from Tombstone, Arizona
The intro to these needs to be done wwf ppv intro 97 style, black and white, deep voice over and classical music
Maybe they can hire Todd Pettengill to narrate?
@@DFloyd84 that would be amazing as long as it doesn't lead to a new 'countdown to wrestle(2)talk' and an extra 14 hours of weekly content 😆
People are saying Wyatt with his Fiend character are the next Undertaker. Mark even said it himself he was the future of the business. But to me there will NEVER be another Undertaker. Although I will say this. Maybe given time and the right material Wyatt could be a worthy successor to the Undertaker as WWE's supernatural legend.
Another truly exceptional and UNIQUE wrestling experience from El Fakador. Get in!
Roland Barthes and wrestling. This is a true WTF moment
Laurie has a phd in being dope, this series is fantastic
Wow a H.I.M. reference. Last time I heard that band was probably 2004.
LAURIE: I thought the reference would truly capture a moment in time!
