- What’s happening in this Breaking Bad clip?
Walter is brought to the desert where Gus confronts him. Gus fires Walter, warning him to stay away from Jesse. Although he will not kill Walter because of Jesse's loyalty to him, Gus assures Walter that Jesse will prove disloyal and side with him, effectively eliminating the little protection Walter still enjoys. Gus also says that, because Walter failed to stop Hank's investigation, Hank will also be killed; if Walter interferes, Gus will kill Walter's entire family.

What’s the TV show Breaking Bad about?
Walter White (Bryan Cranston from Godzilla and Total Recall), a chemistry teacher, is diagnosed with lung cancer. He decides to make and sell methamphetamine to repay his medical debts and secure his family’s future.
Season 4 of Breaking Bad:
Gus (Giancarlo Esposito from The Mandalorian and Maze Runner)tightens security at the lab after Gale's (David Costabile) death. Gus and Mike (Jonathan Banks) work to drive a wedge between Walter and Jesse (Aaron Paul), seeking to coerce Jesse to be their solitary cook by capturing Walter while at the same time eliminating the Mexican cartel. Skyler (Anna Gunn) accepts Walter's meth cooking, and works with Saul (Bob Odenkirk from Better Call Saul and Nobody) to launder his earnings. Hank (Dean Norris), while recovering, tracks Gale's death to Gus and the drug trade. Gus releases Walter and plans to kill Hank. Walter tricks Jesse into turning against Gus, and convinces Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) to detonate a pipe bomb in the same room as Gus, killing them both.

Man after gus's story in better call saul its crazy to come back to breaking bad and see how walt just threw a giant wrench in everything. Ruined Gus's decades long plan for revenge against hector, tore down the biggest meth empire north of the border, and blew off half his face. Nobody could have seen him coming. Not Saul, not Gus, not Mike. Nobody was prepared for him.
It doesnt ruin his revenge plan, he killed everyone hector known about, and he did die with hector
walt actually helped with the revenge plan tbh, he got tuco killed and the twins were killed because they wanted to go after walt and instead they were told to go for hank cause gus didn't want walt to die by that point
@@Benjamslikestrainsand jesse straight up killed joaquin
Gus is a morally right character with absolutely no flaws. Walt ego high. Got it
As Nacho's dad said: Everyone involved is the same.
Gus : "I do not find fear to be a effective motivator"
Also Gus :
This is Fear as a deterrent.
@@hansolo235 Still ineffective
Just shows how Walt brings out the worst in people
It was Mike who told him this in the first place, Gus just repeated it without really believing it to shut Mike up.
I think you're missing the point. The threat was not meant as a motivator, it was a statement of fact. Gus never threatened Walt's family to force him to cook when they were on good terms. Even after Gale was murdered and the terms their engagement changed, Gus did not threaten Walt's family. It was only when Walt gave the vibe that he was going to interfere to save Hank that Gus finally threatened Walt's family. This is because the "simpler matter" Gus was talking about was not a matter of business with an employee, or competition with an enemy, but a matter of vengeance against a snitch. The rule of honor does not apply to snitches as it does in all other situations.
2:45 this is the moment where walter becomes a dog.
I always wondered why Gus suddenly flipped to be so much more unhinged this episode, especially since he’s gotten his revenge on Eladio, and I realized… it’s because Mike is out of the picture now. Mike was loyal but would have absolutely drawn the line at Gus threatening Holly, but with him unconscious in Mexico Gus can finally make the threat he’s been waiting to make
yeah. He was ready to do that easy with Nacho father but Mike was just too powerful to let it happen. Mike was a scumbag like all of them when comes to ego, but he didn't crossed the REAL black line called "killing kids", which capable are prolly only psycho and sychopaths. I mean i would kill a regular guy if he in "game" but kids...
When Mike heard Gus died and went to confront Walter, Jesse told him he threatened his family and Mike said "So?"
Maybe because Gus is a monster which is something a lot of breaking bad fans can’t except
I think he was going into panic mode tbh. Usually when people don’t know what to do they end up calling out all the shots and trying everything. Him threatening to murder a baby is probably him just doing that.

Never threaten a man's family unless you plan to do it then and there, otherwise you've pretty much just given them their call to arms.
He thought about doing it if Walter interfered in Hank's murder.

Gus’s most spine chilling line ever
If you watched BCS he had another sweet line.
This is one of the scenes in Breaking Bad where i appreciate the editing most. That Cloud that leaves most of the valley in shadow and then goes away in the time it takes for walt to challenge Gus to kill him. Its an accident that came at the right exact moment and the decision to let us see the change of lighting from the wide angle without ever interrupting the scene is so great. It makes it much more thrilling.
Fun fact : The cloud here is 100% natural
No clouds were harmed in the filming of this scene
People hate Heisenberg's ego but love Gus, who is capable of 2:18
Gus is not my favorite, but here he is only threatening, he was never seen doing something like that.
Walt is much worse. Gus is an “honest” man, he was never seen harming an innocent person, he respect his workers, he does not think of himself above anyone. You can watch Better Call Saul to know a little bit more about him. Walt, on the other hand, is megalomaniac hypocrit, he thinks everyone is below him, he does not have standards, he will harm anyone, of any sex, of any age, in any way possible, if that means profit to him. All of this while repeating to himself “I’m a good person, I’m doing this for my family” so that he can sleep better at night. He is a coward of the worst kind, he is not even a human being anymore.
@@Stoirelius I mean he has pretty high iq why wouldn't he think everyone is below him
@@Stoirelius I'd like to live in that world too but that's not the case
They're interesting characters but they're both evil scumbags. The difference is when he's not putting on the "innocent Los Pollos Hermanos owner" act Gus acknowledges that he's an evil man. Whereas Walt's an arrogant prick who does what he does for money, power and to get back at people he feels have crossed him while deluding himself he's a good man doing it for his family. He could have been set for life if he'd stayed at Gray Matter but couldn't handle Gretchen being richer than him. And if it hadn't been for his pride and bitterness about leaving Gray Matter before it was successful he'd have let Gretchen and Elliot pay for his cancer treatment and wouldn't have started making and dealing meth.
Giancarlo Esposito is an amazing actor
Remember when Walt explained to Jesse that he’d cook and Jesse would have to pedal meth on the streets, and Walt being the silent cook. Good times

0:54
this is the moment walter white became mike
Gus took a half measure. He and Mike always went on about half measures and taking full measures. But they always took a half measure with both Walt and Jesse even when the two got serious.
They kept underestimating the duo, and it killed Gus and his drug empire just after he took revenge against the Cartel and for a moment, allow the rise of the Heisenberg Drug Empire before it also fell apart not long afterwards.
Its called writing they would have killed them and went back to their normal operations. But it's a TV show
@@alanarichards1100 There are no normal operations if Jesse doesn’t cook at this point. Gus previously got all his meth from the cartel, he hired Gale so he could have his own cook, but now with Gale dead, the cartel all murdered, and Walt untrustworthy, the entire operation would fall apart without Jesse cooking.
I don’t care what anyone says here, Walt won this arguement even when he didn’t get the last word. I love how shocked Gus was when Walt said: “Or else you’ll do what?”
