Mike's relationship with Jesse over the course of the series is kind of like a dad who's really against getting a pet dog but then ends up loving it more than anyone.
A dog? Like Old Yeller?
A Rabid Dog, you could say.

Mike and Jesse would’ve made one hell of a duo.
Imagine if Walt died after poisoning Brock. Mike and Jesse could have just kept working under gus together. Jesse would be loyal to mike, and mike would protect Jesse against Gus (probably) they would loyally make millions under Gus.
@@munchymonk9021 Id like to see a fan write up of an alternative season five with just Gus, Jesse and Mike.
@@munchymonk9021 He doesn't even have to be protected from Gus since Gus wanted to take Jesse as one of his trusted employee and get rid of Walt causing all the problems
He would take him under like a son and teach him all the tradecraft, kinda like in el Camino Jesse shows what he’s learned through experience
Gus would have eventually killed Jesse after he got someone to make meth. He always said you can't trust an addict.
Mike should’ve left the minute Walt killed Fring, he was a smart man but he underestimated walts ego
Underestimated more than his ego. Mike never saw Walt as a threat (physically). A grave mistake
Mike had to get rid of the laptop and hard drive.
@@tankdogization Fring should've arranged to have the laptop destroyed the moment he was killed or arrested.
mike with his half measures
@@Alknix Fring didn’t have to do that. The laptop was uncrackable. Or at the very least it would have taken an algorithm about 50 years to be able open that Laptop.
The sad thing is this was the first time in Jesse’s life that someone had shown him any kind of appreciation.
What I find so ironic is how Gus was so ready to get rid of jesse from the start but here after just showing as you said some appreciation, jesse became more loyal to him and mike than walt for a while there
@@Ashtasticle94 gus started to respect jesse after jesse stood up to gus using kids in their murder game.
Walt showed him appreciation many times, man. Walt truly cared for Jesse.
@@bradleye660 Yes but Walt's a narcissist. He hurt Jesse as much as he cared for him.
@@deathrager2404 I don't think that's the case at all, if gus would respect that sort of thing then he wouldn't allow kids to be used in the first place. I don't think gus cares that kids were used at all. He just knew that jesse and walt stick together so he can't get rid of one without at the very least making the other extremely difficult to manage. I honestly don't think gus ever really respected jesse and just saw him as part of the cost of working with walt
Jesse showed no ego because he was completely oblivious to Gus's plans of this "hit" being staged (later to be revealed to Jesse when Walt questions him about it). This is the moment when Mike knew that this is THE guy.
I think he knew when mike said i saw and told him to smoke up
This is most likely staged but it is possible it wasn't right? Just because Walt questioned it doesn't definitely mean it was. I got my money on staged but there is a possibility it was the Salamanca's.
@@Anomaly-pn2pg not at all, what are you on?
@@Anomaly-pn2pg I thought there was a scene with Mike confirming that it was. Though I can’t recall having not seen the series in awhile. Know what that means….
@@811chelseafc Again I'm pretty confident it was all staged but I don't think there's any scene where it shows it is, it's just Walt's intuition which is most likely correct but we are all assuming.
The way that Mike says I saw it’s just like a dad talking to his kid who wants attention.

Cool videos on your channel btw; raw science is love 🥰
@@NotoriousBroadcasts Wasn't aware we were playing for pink slips, lol. It's just that transistor symbols tend to gender stereotype the person using them as their av - my mistake and my apologies for that. Do have to ask though, why would anyone have a transistor as a tat, particularly a PNP transistor? I can think of some pretty nerdy yet deep reasons but curious to know your perspective on that.
Science is my one true love, and I have never found a branch of it I didn't find absolutely fascinating. I found it when I was just a kid, and it's never left my side when nearly everything else has at one time or another. It's a soulmate thing. Reach for the stars, if only to move them aside to reach even beyond them. ;-)
Off to go see whom it is I lost to. Only seems fair.

All in good fun, mate. Interestingly enough the only other person I’ve ever seen use the symbol is also a bizzaro mirror version of me from the same local scene. The universe is a strange and fantastic place for people like us, and I am glad to have crossed your star along the way. With blessings and health. 🙏
When you earn Mike's trust, you smoke up.

@@2Sor2Fig my nuts feel like they are on fire
I believe at first Mike was pissed off thinking Jesse had run off in panic and that's why he looked and sounded pissed off when calling for a cab. But when Jesse came back to pick him up, he realised that not only had Jesse managed to outrun them (Id imagine they gave chase for a while to report back to Gus what he did) but he did it to protect the dead drop. Mike literally went from "Jessie is a junkie and a loose end," to "No one can replace my dead son, but..."
And then Mike blamed Walter White for ruining everything. But if Walter White did everything he was told, Jesse would've died from those two thugs that killed a child.
The look Jesse gives after Mike gives him permission is priceless! 😂
To me it was a powerful scene. Jesse is so used to being berated and criticized by any parental figures and mentors he's had (both his parents and Walt).
The look of confusion and uncertainty when he's being praised and accepted is heartbreaking because he's not used to being treated well.

If u think Mike and jesse were decent people, you're stupid
I've always enjoyed the duality of Mike and Walt, they're both polar opposites and despite both being father figures to Jesse, Walt is the Father who wants his son to do bad and stay in the game, while Mike is the Father who wants Jesse to leave and start fresh.
@@rE-jq9ou Well, I guess Mike’s wish is the one that came true
I think Jesse was honestly Mike’s biggest second chance. Mike had lost most of his humanity at this point, but Jesse helped him re-find some of it, even if either of them hasn’t realized it.
Jesse wasn't decent, he gave meth to a teenage girl working at a gas station just to pay his bill.

I noticed that after Jesse and Mike formed this strong bond that Mr White almost seemed jealous of him no longer being Jesses father figure
When Walt killed Mike is when Jesse really started resenting him.
Mike: Cancel that
Jesse: *Having second thoughts thought Mike was super pissed and drove away again*
Mike:
I salute the dedication of the guy who approached the car from behind. Risking being run over, just for a ruse.
Loved Jesse and Mikes bond through the show after this scene
After watching Batter Call Saul and knowing Mikes’ background, it makes the relationship between Jesse and Mike stand out even more.
This is the exact moment Mike allowed Jesse to smoke up.
Mike's like, sure smoke in my car, you already totaled it
Not only trust, but also respect. Not an easy thing to earn with a guy like Mike. Bravo, Jesse!
Mike allowing Jesse to smoke is an allegory of how he appreciates how he handled the situation.
It was a frame up. He was not sincere.

Everyone in the show would've been amazingly useful to certain roles if they had different paths in life.
This is the moment Jesse earned Mike’s trust
Are you telling me that a man just happens to try to rob a car like that? No! He orchestrated it! Gus!
Mike respected Jesse, Walt used Jesse
Mike was calling Jesse a junkie and blamed Walter White for "ruining everything", even though Walter White is the one that saved Jesse.
Because of Walter White, Mike would've NEVER gotten to like Jesse out of the blue.
Jesse "Navy Seal" Pinkman
2:10 What is going on with Mike's face here? His cheek lifted up and his lips even curled up a little bit. I've never seen him do that before I think something went wrong maybe there was a glare in the window or something that made him look different. It's almost like when someone is happy and their lips curl upwards you know?
Wait so these 2 guys are Gus's men who trying to chase Jesse?
Yes it was all a set up by Gus and Mike was in on it. It was an elaborate set up to test the loyalty of Jesse
This is the exact moment Mike became a secondhand smoker
This was the moment Mike had to be picked up.
If you look closely you'll notice the rear quarter panel of the Chrysler bends down after hitting the Cadillac. Not saying the car would be undrivable, but there would definitely be noticeable body damage and possible frame damage essentially totaling the car.
Plot armor and any body shop can fix a beater.
This warmed my heart in a strange BB way.
I really like how Mike became a mentor to Jesse in the later episodes
This is the moment Jesse officially became Mike’s guy.
Read the speed of trust.
This part was staged but Jesse definitely did prove himself later on and Gus and Mike both saw him as a better asset than Walt.
This is the exact moment Marie became a mineral
Love Mike, such a tortured soul, but the kind of buddy you could never do better.

People say Walt & Jessie had the 'Like a farther' type role but, tbh I feel like that is more with Mike & Jessie

How did they find each other, I’m assuming he was calling someone else
Jesse drove around until he saw mike
After BCS I wonder what would happen if Jesse met Nacho because both of them had Mike's respect and were so lost and conflicted inside all this time in their series.
Nacho might have initially disliked Jesse, since he’s just another one of Gus’ employees, but they might get along well as time progresses
@@juanjoyaborja.3054 I meant that they would be great partners due to them being their own counterparts in BrBa and BCS. Two men who wanted to act tough and be in the game but later they seemed to be so kindhearted and this is the reason why we loved them eventually .

They need to now make a spin off all about Gus and his origin story. You got to see more of him in better call Saul and I know it would be a killer series
My canon is that Mike went to hospital and survived, then went to Alaska, the kid named finger is very tough
This is the exact moment when that cigarette became Heisenberg
I think that Mike saw of bit of his son in Jesse which is why he likes Jesse over Walt
Mikes like “ where tf did he go?” “ I only went to get a bag of pimmento cheese sandwiches”
For someone with bad knees to be running he must have been rly mad
