    I made this a few weeks ago and it was great but I wondered if I could make a lower calorie version by swapping the sugar for Stevia. I made it yesterday and it worked. The taste is the same but I estimate that the calories per portion drop from 246 to about 178. Having both almonds and sugar in it will always load the calories but removing the sugar might make this available to the weight-watchers out there. Just use the same volume of Stevia to sugar (i.e. a cup for a cup). Enjoy 😊

      @@junglerednyc Bought it from Lidl but you can get it from most supermarkets and all of the packaging seems to be the same except for the label so I suspect it all comes from the same supplier.

      you need calories, if you decrease calories, you start to starve. you should instead chose your calories so that they don't spike your insulin and stuff your self on protein

    I have no issues with gluten, but I sure do love almonds and their nutritional value! Why use bland starchy flour when one can use a tasty powerhouse of nutrition like almonds?
    Once again, you are giving us a delicious way to make something great with very few ingredients. I'm going to use limes, because it's what I have right now.
    I have been cooking for almost 50 years, but I learn something new with each of your videos; a new recipe, or a new ingredient, but what I love best are the techniques I continue to learn from you that guarantee success, and save time while making it look like I have expertise! I always sing your praises to others when I get compliments.

    Pro tip for lemonade, the day before peel the lemons with a potato peeler, and cover the peels with the sugar you will use. The sugar will draw out all the essential oils and flavor. The Roman's called it oleo saccharum. Also works for lemon bars.

    thanks for the recipe. we live in crete and our lemon tree is bursting with ffruit. we have squeezed loads and frozen it, made lots of lemon curd, lemonade etc. we will try this soon and our daughter in law is allergic to gluten and is visiting for our easter so thanks again. do you have any ways of using up a lot of lemons

      Look up cooking tree lemon cheesecake. Could substitute a gluten free cookie crumb for the crust. Her recipes are very delicate and have lots of steps but they are very impressive and extremely tasty.

    You probably don’t realize this but your lemon bars are also naturally kosher for Passover. They would be wonderful after a Passover Seder. Also, if you have a kosher meal you don’t have milk and meat together and your bars have no dairy. So they’re gluten-free, dairy free and kosher for Passover. And they look delicious

    I'm not a big fan of sweets (not that I dislike them at all), but I love lemon, so I'm going to try this. I'll have to use a sugar substitute though, which isn't something I do very often (since I rarely make sweets).
    I wish this recipe had come a few weeks earlier when my lemon and lime trees were at maximum production. I'd love to try this with limes, but there are only a few left now. Fortunately, lemons stay on the tree all year (if not picked).

    You should start a second channel - how to keep in the great shape you're in with all this wonderful food! Going to try this one substituting honey for the sugar - not sure how it will come out tho.
