Yesterday, I tried this phenomenal recipe with a Middle Eastern twist. So, I added Saffron, grounded cardemom and rose water instead of the cinnamon stick and lemon peels. OMG!! I can't even describe how flavorful it was. It was really a mouth- watering dessert. Thank you so much for sharing this easy and yummy recipe.
One of my husband’s favorite dessert. We had it in Santander and he hasn’t stopped talking about it. Need to make it asap. I made your crema catalana and it was a hit! Thank you.
Subscribed. this is the 3rd recipe in a row where the results of following your recipe are pretty close to how my grandmother’s turns out. After some tweaking, I should get there soon. Thank you
I finally just found out I’m half Spain 🇪🇸 cause I am Costa Rican 🇨🇷. This is my first try and attempt to make this dessert. Didn’t came out well but that won’t stop me practicing. Proud to be a patron my journey is about to start.
Oh my loooooord this looks so divine. I also have a video suggestion: You should so one of those number videos like '5 Spanish desserts that has fewer than 5 ingredients', or '5 quick and healthy spanish dishes' something to showcase + consolidate good recipes! Love your channel!
Worth trying . Different, good & enjoyed by my family . Takes a little more time & effort but pleased I’ve finally tried the recipe . Thank you Albert .
I doscovered your channel recently and inmediately subscribed! Im happy that you make both authentic Spanish foods and creative out of the box stuff. Love your channel and greetings from argentina!!
Your recipes are excellent, I'm subscribed. The Spanish people I've been fortunate enough to meet, have been the friendliest in the World, so I have a favourable disposition towards Spain, it's food, it's culture, it's people. Muchas gracias.
Ok so I haven't commented since almost a month. But that doesn't mean I wasn't checking out your fabulous uploads. I'm absolutely glad to tell you that day before yesterday, on the auspicious day of Eid ul Azha, I decided to do something special and so I cooked this dessert. It was absolutely wonderful! Truly the most amazing dessert we had ever tasted! My family was praising you so highly! You're absolutely right Sir, Spanish cuisine is all about simplicity meeting extraordinary. Spain is truly a divine land. Thank you so much for adding beauty to my festival day. My best wishes always 😊😊👍👍
I fell in love with the concept of Leche Frita while reading one of Sra. Laura Esquivel's novels. Now I want to make these, according to your recipe!!!!!
Just love your desert Albert love it looks so moist and delicious thanks for sharing definitely going to try this one we love deserts thanks for sharing my friend you are awesome 👍
This dessert looks like my banana pudding only thing the color is different and you fried yours. It's very creamy, I love how smooth the texture of it is and this is a dish I would really enjoy since I love milk, both liquid and powdered. I also want you to know that I really appreciate you always taking the time to watch my videos! 🤗 ☺
Having some guests over for a Spanish themed lunch. Any tips on making this ahead or do the steps with frying and coating with sugar/cinnamon have to be done right before eating?
The (translated) name of this dish sounds odd to my English ear, but it looks delicious and I'll definitely give it a go. Think I'll replace the cinnamon stick with vanilla extract... as long as that doesn't get me banned from Spain!
WWOOOOWWWWW!!! This looks incredible! I just HAVE to try this one out! Thanks for sharing this one! I will be sure to tag you on IG when I make it. ;) Have a great weekend my friend!
Wow. Just discovered the channel, and have been enjoying your videos for the past few weeks. And I never realized that besides eggs, they were all vegetarian! Until you mentioned in another video, that you don't eat meat. Very sneaky (but great!) Everything looked so good, we don't realize the meat is missing.
Leche frita, frixuelos and arroz con leche croquettes... Literally my childhood flavours! 😁 I have never tried to make my own leche frita because I know I will never get the same results as my grandma, but I think it's time to give it a try!
Make sure you got that corn starch in there and you are cooking in a low to low-medium heat, you can heat with a medium heat to help thicken it up quicker :) much love
Wait I don’t understand!! In your video you say the ingredients but when I went to your full recipe link it is a total different recipe!!! Why is that and which one is the original recipe???
I wonder if I can substitute the lemon zest with lemon essence because I am nervous that even the tiny bit of acidity on the zest can make the milk curdle and I have a small bottle of lemon essence lying around which I never used. In the cuisine of Eastern India, we have our own version of "fried milk" which requires even fewer ingredients, and I bet is more delicious. You boil the milk on low heat for an extended period till a thick skin forms on the surface. Remove this skin with a spatula and set it aside. Boil the milk till the skin forms again. Repeat. Arrange the skins in layers and cut into squares. Dust with a little flour so that the layers hold together, but the natural stickiness of reduced milk should take care of it. Fry the squares in ghee till brown and then soak in warm sugar syrup (one thread consistency). Let it stand for a few hours. Serve and enjoy! Since you Spaniards have a special something for saffron, you may add a few saffron threads and some rose water to the syrup but this is optional.
In India also we have fried milk but we don't use eggs as with sweets we normally do not use eggs.. Moreover sometimes we give it to God... So no eggs.... We follow these things na that's why.....
The taste is just divine... Can not believe something so simple can taste this good...
Much love :)

It looks like it could be done in an air fryer too.
I've been whisking for ages but the milk is still not thickening. I've done exactly as shown. What am I doing wrong?

I made this and the leche frita was leaking liquid the next day . Would u know why ?
Can I use any type of plant milk? Vegan fan here 💁🏻♀️
Yes, absolutely, try to use a thicker one, like soy instead of rice, much love
I bet these would be nice served with a few berries on the side.
absolutely! Thanks for the comment :) much love
Maybe some walnuts bananas and honey
I think pumpkin pie spice would flavor this well.

I wonder what the origins of this recipe are, because there's a very similar one in china.
