    Wow. In 1992 there I was, wearing a business-suit and driving a Red Wrangler through the Boston Business District.
    Top down, the fabulous low-cut doors, serious older professionals glanced at me smiling
    A Senior Partner watched me driving into the parking area and said something like, "Your Wrangler will be discussed at the next Partner's Meeting. Far too casual, not the image we want to convey ".
    The following day at lunch time we bumped into each other and he told me:
    Let's grab something to eat -- my treat. But I wanna drive that fancy Wrangler -- gimme the keys.
    And he truly loved that little truck -- unfortunately, years later it was traded in.
    With all due respect, forget the Jurassica version -- kind of gauche and plastic.
    You own a Classic.-- don 't compromise such a gorgeous vehicle

      That’s awesome. I love that story! However, I’ve already finished the conversation and I’m super happy with it. The nice thing is that it’s based entirely on the Sahara model and just a fancy paint job. If I ever wanted to I could bring it back to nearly factory with a simple paint job. But I have to be honest. I’m loving having it as a JP Jeep. The joy it brings people when they see it is awesome.

    Clean yj! I am currently working on a 92 myself. Just a little advice...Make sure to torque and inspect the exhaust manifold bolts. The 2 studs front(next to power steering) and rear closest to firewall commonly snap off so it’s something to look at

    Oh definitely go Jurassic Park with it. That’s the only thing that should be done with a YJ and that’s one of my dream vehicles. If my wife never rode in it and I didn’t need 4 doors I would sell my JK in a heartbeat and would build a JP YJ

    Nice jeep!! I myself bought a 1992 in early 2020. Also my first jeep. Mine has a 4 cylinder engine, it doesn't like hwy speeds, but does great otherwise. There are a few things I hope to never have to replace. The main one is the power steering gearbox, they are not cheap compared to other parts. Mine has what is called a leaf-over lift (leaf springs mounted on the top of the axles), so the 31's I have on it looks small. 2 things I did right away, front bumper (for winch) and LED headlight/taillight upgrade. Both found online and both for less than $300. Enjoy!!

    • @SimplyMustGo
      @SimplyMustGo  4 года назад

      Awesome! Super excited about your Jeep and what you’ll end up doing with it. I keep going back and forth about the LED headlights. I don’t love the look of them compared to the original, but the output / benefit is significant. Which ones did you get?

    Awesome YJ, love finding them in good stock shape like that. 92 would have a computer especially since the 2.5L has been around for a while in a fuel injected format. I would keep that Jeep as stock as you can while maybe changing some things to improve a little off road performance maybe a locker or two, things that maintain the overall stock look while giving you a bit of a boost.
    Jurassic Jeep would be cool but there are lots of replicas out there of them already.
    That front bumper isn't a HD one. It's just a stock bumper or a stock replacement from Omix or Crown from a CJ. But a lot of stuff can interchange between the CJs and YJs.

    Hey I have a 92 wrangler 4.0 automatic and I'm currently fixing it up, I got it when I was about 12 but didnt drive it till I was 16, now I'm 17 and it's pretty beat, it was also used for off road so the rust is crazy 😬 but I'm getting the floor board all patched up, I bought a new hard top for it, new led headlights, 2 inch body lift and 36 inch tires I need a lot more things, like paint, new radio and speakers cause that's an essential 😂 and new seats, I took out the rear ones and like it better, also might get the doors that are just two metal bars, hope it goes well for you and your jeep

    PLEASE don't turn it into yet another lame ass Jurassic Park knock off. It's the modern day equvalent of a forearm tribal tatoo. Don't do anything to it. The original paint and striping are in amazing condition. Restore it to original conditon. Stock YJ are poised to explode in value since they are rare. Most people have trashed their original YJ's nine ways to Sunday by cutting them up, applying rattle can/ rhino paint jobs, and customizing them into cheesy Mad Max looking offroad hunks of sh#t. If you had a excellent condition orginal '68 Camaro, would you turn it into a science project? If you did, you'd be absolutely destroying the value, because when you cusomize something it's nearly impossible to find someone who has the same lousy taste as you and you're pretty much guaranteed to get nowhere close to the amount of money you spent ruining it back when you sell it. If you want a serious off road monster YJ, buy one that's been brought back from the dead and and Frankesteined into one and leave this beauty to the collectors, PLEASE.
