My dad had one of these when I was growing up. The YJ has a special place in my heart. Maybe someday I'll be able to pick up one with the 5 speed, straight six, and beautiful green paint.
Franky siriani I agree some in pristine condition are already selling for almost the same price as when they were new. I’d wish I could go back in time and get a couple of LJR’s $$$$

89 YJ, bought new, daily driver with few mods but still looking stock on 33x10.5s, alot of girl friends - x wife - pets come and gone and kids all grown up and it still drives from Canada to Rubicon and Moab and gets the job done .....

Been throughly enjoying my 1990 YJ 2.5L for the past 3 years. Have done the usual maintenance and few repairs, but no major stuff and still basically stock condition with over 290,000 miles. Paid $3,700. for it, but it would take considerable more dollars for me to sell as I know now what it's capable of and the condition that it's in now. Just a fun weekend driver for an old guy Lol.
I search for a 1995 Jeep YJ as I knew about the galvanized bodies and frames for a few years and 4 years ago found a decent one with absolutely no rust. Traded the half doors on day one for full doors, should have kept them and just purchased the full doors. Bought a used hard top and tossed the rag top which had seen better days. Bought and installed front and rear hitches. The hitches were used, but completely functional. Installed new brakes and stainless steel brake lines. Installed all new hoses. Installed LED bulbs for the dash which made a huge difference in gauge visibility. I had the car fully primed and painted and it looks beautiful! I could not locate one with the 4.0 liter engine, however the 2.5 liter is a very good engine and starts every time even when sitting for a few weeks as this car is not my daily driver. Having the 5 speed transmission really helps. Thanks for the video.
My family and I love our 89 YJ and our 05 LJ. Similar but different rigs. Trouble free and fun. My 12 year old daughter loves the YJ the most because of the square headlights!!!
Great video, Tommy! You called almost a year and a half ago. These things have really jumped up in price. I've been watching your videos for years. You have quickly become one of the top content creators on RUclips. Keep up the good work!!
I had a '83 CJ7... Started with a clapped out AMC 4 cylinder, swapped it to a 258, did an emissions delete and put on a Holley 2 bbl carb. The trans needed work when I sold it but it was a solid runner. I miss that rig.
Great video, I have a 1991YJ, 4 liter six cylinder. I bought it new, and I still have it. I am now in the process of restoring it, my little project I love it.
It's funny how older cars are more desirable now. Lots of people, including me, don't like all the bells and whistles and prefer something that doesn't feel like a spaceship.
Love my 95 2.5 liter. The simplicity, ease of maintenance and wrenching. Got the JK first year out and what trash, sold it! I miss the coils but that's it. Nice video.
Cool video. Love my 90 YJ! I bought it over ten years ago from my neighbor for a little over a grand because he was just letting it rot into the ground.... One of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned, don't think I'll ever sell it
I have a 1991 Jeep Wrangler Renegade (YJ) Looks like the RED soft top you should in this video except with hard top. I’ve had it sense new,( 29 years old), runs and drives perfectly. Color:(PRD) Radiant Fire, Black hard top Grey seats Manual 5 speed: AX15, A/C Power Steering Rear Differential with Trac-Loc: Dana 35, 355 gears, BFG AT 30x9.50 R15LT All stock, except 3 changes: 1. High end Pioneer stereo, and a 912A569 Eaton Detroit Truetrac Rear Differential, (no more frequent oil changes with additive)
That’s where it all started for me. I had a1990 “S” model. It was totally basic. Back seat and radio were optional. I paid about $12,500 brand new. They also had a crazy good warranty back then. I think it was a 100,000 miles. I beat on mine and took advantage of the warranty a few times.
My neighbor sitting on one next door Newberry springs California, sounds like it needs a motor setting in the sun, I was thinking of buying it last year he's one of these junk Hoarders. Bought an 89 YJ instead last month.
I bought two YJ’s brand new in 1992 . Still have them both and have been garage kept all their lives . Still bone stock except for their CB radios and K&N air filter panels in the stock air boxes . At this point I think I’m sitting on close to 60 grand . Way way more than what they were worth just five years ago .
I have a late 95 Yj. It actually has some TJ features such as rubber windshield stops on the hood as opposed to the loops, and a reinforced stronger tailgate. Best Jeep ever, love my YJ.
I got a 94 4.0 5speed with only 71K miles, almost completely stock except for the exhaust, 3inch lift, and locking difs, no leaks, runs perfect on top of all maintenance, even the paint and interior is in perfect show condition garage kept it's whole life and now I'm a professional detailer so it's being well taken care of. People have offered me over 20K for it. Pretty good considering my dad bought it brand new for $14k. 😬 Sure is fun to drive though. And can't tell you how many modern Jeeps I've had to pull out on trails 🥴
That’s just like mine!!! I’m 17 and I just bought a 93 4.0L high output 5 speed too, it’s my first car and I want to keep it for the rest of my life. Mine has 84k miles but not a speck of rust on it anywhere. Got a 2 1/2 lift on it, new racing radiator, rhino lining, corbeau seats, brand new mt/r tires, w cold air intake, disc brake conversion on rear, power chip, cat back exhaust, w new rims that match custom painted badass front and back bumpers. Bought it for 12k from a firefighter who kept it in perfect shape and extremely well maintained, even said that he was 25k deep into it. If u see this comment please contact me! I would love to talk to an experienced Jeep owner
I have two. One is a MINT 1992 Sahara, original condition, 4.0 auto, with nice original seats. It's a desert Jeep (completely rust-free) that I keep out of the sun. And I have an 89 that I rescued from the junk yard after a roll over. I completely stripped it and welded new body panels on and re-painted it the factory color. She's another beauty. They are insured for $12,000 and $8000.
Jeep owner here from BC Canada. Black 95 YJ softtop 4.0 inline 6 5spd. Paint has had full paint correction a beefy exhaust cold air intake. A little lift and some 31s. Thing is mint
'95 YJ owner her, 4cyl 5spd. Getting 18-19 mpg on the highway as long as I keep the speeds around 60mph, with 31" duratracs. Gets a little less when the hardtop is on and there's a passenger with me. Its absolutely dead-reliable. Looked at a few TJ's prior to buying the YJ, all with higher mileage, worse condition, and higher asking price. Owned a nice '99 TJ with the 4L for a few years before selling it in 2006. That one was more comfortable, but 25% worse mpg, and to be honest, the smile factor on the yj is as good or better.
I actually bought my YJ for two reasons. One is that these were the Jeep’s of my childhood (up to 95 of course) having seen them in movies and what forth. The other was this video right here. I’d seen a couple for sale out there and I had been wanting a wrangler for a while but they all seemed expensive. I didn’t really want the YJ mainly because the square headlights here ugly and seemed blasphemous. Then I watched this video and got extremely interested in the ugly. Literally with a week or so of watching this video I went out and bought my YJ. Not once despite any issues have I ever regretted buying my 89 affectionately named Marvin. Thank you for inspiring me to take that leap of faith.
Have a 93 Sahara with the 4.0 and AX15 and I’ll never ever get rid of it, it’s the greatest thing ever. Already driven it to up to Maine and down to Georgia and am taking it to Alaska and California in the near future. Best rig ever.
You can thank my generation, Gen-X. Now we're grown, our kids are moving out and we have disposable income. We're buying the cars/trucks we wanted in our youth, but couldn't afford. Prices are going up on just about any low mileage 80's vehicles. Fox Body's, Japanese hot hatches, GM F-Body's, Shelby Dodges, etc...
Just got my (new to me) 94 Sahara 4.0 with 65k miles in Iowa! Been watching all your old Diff Lock videos with your 95 Sahara. I'm so excited! Got it for a steal so hoping this one will explode in price! More YJ videos please! Unless you sold it..?
I have a 92 YJ with 214k 6.5 inches of lift on 33 12.50 15s just did the body over painted it with Monstaliner color called “what a maroon” all new hinges painted the dash she is looking great.
A great video, thank you ,prices going up everyday, after some work they’re better now than it was coming off the show room floor ,I have replaced everything except for the engine, transfer case, transmission, and all the electrical stuff,so it’s pretty cool
@@ipdjbt Go be stupid somewhere else. My family's been in the jeep business for over 5 decades and I can tell you without a doubt they are way over valued for what they are. The XJ vs TJ is a perfect example. A XJ comes with the same drivetrain as a TJ , has many more " luxury " items, many more parts to produce, yet a nice TJ will cost you roughly twice what a nice XJ would....
Totally agree, I love them but well over priced for what you get. As far as cj's, yj's, xj's they have the least amount of metal and the least amount interior and they are expensive for what you get.
I have a totally rust free 1995 YJ Jeep Wrangler 4 cylinder, 5 speed with about 155,000 miles. The 1995 model was the only one with a galvanized body, thus better rust protection. I was thinking of unloading it for some other 4x4, but with air conditioning. Now, I’ll have to reconsidered and just sweat it out. Dang!
I bought a Base 1991 YJ 2.5L 3 years ago for $2.5K, now it has a built Chevy 4.3L V6 with 4L60E Tranny, Rear Dana 44 & Front Super Dana 30 (axles from 2013 JK Sahara) upgraded with G2 4.56:1 Gearing & Auburn Gear EKTED E-Locker in the rear, Spring Over Axle Lift on Rubicon Express 1.5" Leaf Springs & Bilstein shocks (7.5 total suspension lift) rims & 33" mud terrain tires, 1.5" Aluminum Tie Rod and Drag Links setup similar to JK (not the YJ's 'Y' bar steering) Front Bakes are Teraflex Big Brake Rotor kit for JK, rear brakes are stock JK discs, just to name of few of the mods.... She is a sweet machine now!!!
I had a 1987 Wrangler sport model (black and tan) and then traded it for a 1991 Wrangler Renegade (red/red). They were completely stock and were my favorite vehicles I ever owned. I still wish I owned one of them. I constantly wonder where they are at now.
Had a 91 and 89 they both had 2.5 and Was lucky to do 55 on the interstate but love them both and just bought a 1999 TJ sport with only 70k miles for 10k
Just turned 188k on mine. Had to fix a couple of fuel line leaks due to age of flex lines (steel ones fine), also replaced everything in the ignition system. Runs smoothly and still has over 60 psi oil pressure. Great to pop the top and drop the doors on a beautiful day and go anywhere you want.
.....or anywhere else for that matter. I've owned 3. A 1993 in pristine shape-red 4 cylinder 5 speed soft top; a 95 repaint - same motor but auto (uggghhh) soft top; and a lifted 93 4 cylinder (also had a really good yellow repaint) 5 speed HARD top that previous owner had removed front and rear track bars after a spring over conversion. Scared the crap out of me when I first drove it so immediately put on a JKS adjustable front and stock rear track bar. Other than being a little overpriced, the biggest issue I had were the gutless 4 banger (auto was the worst), and the 2 soft top ones....LOUD. So just find a used hardtop right? No....$1-1.5k minimum for a beat up hardtop. JUST the hardtop - no Jeep included. Finally bought 2018 JL, and I'll never look back. Gas mileage still blows, but at leat it can get out of it's own way.
I just bought one 4.2 135,000 5-speed 4000 thousand thought I paid too much, it's mine now, has problems, love working on it. Probably 3,500 is what it was worth.
90 YJ owner here... solid video, i really enjoyed it and learned a few things that i didnt know about my [] ||||||| [] Jeep. I'll take any model Jeep as long as it only has TWO doors. Case closed. :)
I bought a 93 Wrangler Renegade. It is automatic and in great condition. It has just about all the original parts and design. I really like it. It is the first Jeep that I own. My folks have been having jeeps for several years now, so, I know what modern jeeps feel like and be. But I chose the 93 Jeep over the newer designs because it was a rare and cool find. In Del Rio, Texas I bought the Renegade for 8 thousand. Pretty good deal given that it's valued from 8 to 11 thousand. I'd like to keep it for a bit longer but I am most likely going to buy a new vehicle next year after I graduate and work.
Just bought Wrangler #15. 89 YJ 4.2L I-6,5 speed RUST FREE Texas Jeep with factory A/C first sold in Arkansas.$8500.00 and will be $10,000.00 by the time I get done with it.100K on the clock.Keeping this one.
This is why im sitting on my 92 even knowing it needs a new engine its my future project ive always looked it the YJ as last of the best same thing with my 92 cherokee once it gets fully retired for the road its going into storage
I’ve had a few YJs but my favorite was a 1995 Rio Grande. I sold it last year and it’s the one sale I regret. The original cloth seats were perfect and it had never been wrecked. Of course it had the usual rust areas since I live here in NY state. Oh well.
@@JuanGuzman-op3hw Yes it had that interior and I sold it for only $2500 just before the prices went crazy. It was a really late 95 so it had some TJ parts on it like the rubber windshield bumpers on the hood, a TJ steering box and TJ style hinges on the rear door. It was another one of the vehicles I should have kept!
Good thing I got my 92 last year. I am in love. No one will have this one, ever, but me. Yuppie Jeeps FOREVER!!! On the other side of the coin, my 4x4 is out (stupid Vac. PosiLock FTW), I need a new winch, and (this is easy) I need to remove the track bars and install sway DCs. A rock crawlin we will go...
I just bought a beautiful 93 yj. My buddies dad bought it last year for 5.4k. Due to this virus he was down and out and gave it to me for $1500. Literally just 2 days ago.
Yep had a 1980 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade lifted it, put big tires, double shocks all the way around and flipped it twice, Lol Lucky to be alive. Had a 87 Jeep YJ keeps it for about 25 years tricked it out was a fun jeep. Now I roll around in a Toyota FJ much better vehicle. Both Jeeps were manual as well as the FJ.
My dad just finished building a 90 wrangled with a first gwen vortec Chevy 350 . It is a mean machine..lolstock front and rear ends drives awesome (for a jeep) will damn near pack the front tires....
I just come across this video while getting ideas for my build. I bought a 95 jy that needs a frame. I already have a southern rust free frame to start with but im not sure on the rest of my build.
Strangely, a coworker long ago had a tree fall in the front of his 1994 YJ. We went to a Jeep salvage yard and we found a yellow CJ-7 with the front in near perfect shape. Yellow YJs were not very easy to find in salvage yards yet because it was just out of the YJ era. But the wrecked CJ-7 was, the perfect colour. We bought the CJ-7 front and the bumper. We expected some manufacturing to make it fit the 1994 YJ. We were surprised everything bolted right up. The yellow on the CJ-7 was a little bit shinier than the YJ tub. But a wax job fixed that. The end result was a 1994, "YJ-7." Everyone thought my coworker got a CJ-7.
@@overlandtoshore It was a 1989 Jeep Wrangler with the carburated inline six. The CJ-7 front was from a 1980, I think. It was almost a direct bolt in keeping the YJ front bumper. I used an aftermarket radiator I got from 4wheel parts that had an electric fan already on it. However, I imagine if you want to keep cost down an OEM CJ-7 radiator would be the way to go. If I remember correctly, only one bolt hole on each of fenders did not line up in the middle of the fenders on the trailing edge of the flat side that met with the tub. All the other bolts lined up perfectly. I just drilled a hole where the one bolt hole had lined up and put a plastic body mount through the hole to help keep things tight. But I doubt I even had to do that. Everything else lined up perfectly. I know that in 1992 the roll bars were changed to what the TJ has. I do not know if anything else was changed that could cause the CJ-7 front end not to line up properly. But the 1987 to 1991 should be a direct fit, minus one bolt on each fender. You will laugh at how easy it will be to create that part of your Wrangler YJ-7. Remember to get an authentic CJ-7 badge to put under the Wrangler Badge to mess with Jeep people's heads. One thing I really wanted to do but did not was to retrofit a CJ-7 dashboard into the Wrangler CJ-7. It would have fit but the guages would have required extensive lengthening of the YJ cables and lots of splicing of cable harnesses and manufacturing cable harnesses. I bought the CJ-7 dashboard but never installed it. I just bought a stainless steel overlay for the original YJ dashboard instead. Use the YJ top and windshield. The doors are interchangeable. The CJ-7 full hard doors are superior to the YJ full hard doors, in my worthless opinion. I really enjoy the vent windows the CJ-7 doors have. Dump the YJ mirrors and install stainless steel CJ-7 mirrors. They work with the doors off. The YJ mirrors come off with the doors. Then you have no side mirrors. Many YJ owners, including myself, retrofitted CJ-7 mirrors to their YJ. As my own worthless preference, I put a TJ rear bumper on the Wrangler YJ-7. The owner agreed with the decision. Everything else pretty much stayed stock 1989 YJ for awhile. We later changed the bellhousing to a 1995 YJ so we could have an external cutch slave cylinder. It seemed the internal slave cylinder of the 1987 to 1993 failed easier and it was hard to change. After we switched to the external slave cylinder and bellhousing to accommodate it, everything stayed together and the slaved cylinder was never changed again. If you can, swap in the axles of a 2.5 litre four cylinder manual transmission equipped YJ into your inline six YJ if you get to do it. The 2.5 liter four cylinder manual transmission equipped YJ had a 4.11 to 1 axle gear ratios. It was something we planned also but never did. Something I later found out is the body of the 1994 to 1995 YJ is galvanised, like the body of the TJs. Well, that is all the worthless advise I can give on your Wrangler YJ-7 build. Enjoy your build. Put a YJ suspension lift in while you are building. As for you left over YJ front end. Do not discard it. YJs are no longer produced. Keep the dreams of others alive. Do not give it away unless you see there really is someone making a project and really needs it. If you give it away with someone just barely starting, they may throw it away. It is best to sell it for an economical price. That way it will not wind up in a crusher. Your original front end is still extreme important. Give back to our Jeep community if you see the project first hand. Or, sell it economically but not insanely cheap.
It's nice to know I'm about six months ahead of the latest trend. This is my second 95 green Sahara 4.0 5spd. The one I just bought is a Canadian and I know that because it says YJ on the side and not Wrangler as well as the Canadian engine sticker and the stock engine heater it came with.
88 yj'er here, i liked the reason for the square headlamps "squares don't roll"I always thought it was because AMC was a small company with a small design budget. As Huey Lewis sang,Its hip to be square

I can't believe that this channel only has 43k Subscribers...
90.4k now
I actually like the yjs but i have a tj and it's going on 20 years old now and I absolutely love it.
I bought a 92 YJ two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier!
Same!!
The square headlights actually match the body shape and look great with the right lift and tires
I love my 95. Every one seems to want the 5 speed but I like my 3 speed auto.
X2
Love my 95 2.5 liter. The simplicity, ease of maintenance and wrenching. Got the JK first year out and what trash, sold it! I miss the coils but that's it. Nice video.
My old man brought home a rusted out 91 YJ with the 4 banger in it one day, and that was it. I cought the Jeep fever real bad after that.
my first vehicle was a '91 YJ, bought it in 2017 and still love it.
Color:(PRD) Radiant Fire,
Black hard top
Grey seats
Manual 5 speed: AX15,
A/C
Power Steering
Rear Differential with Trac-Loc: Dana 35, 355 gears,
BFG AT 30x9.50 R15LT
All stock, except 3 changes: 1.
I got one 1993 had to change slave cylinder "drop transmission " $1,700
You know what is already going up in price? The Grand Wagoneer. I’d love to have one today.
I noticed that too, and I agree.
I just bought a 90 5spd last week. Love it. Posted a short video of her yesterday.
Great video Tommy! Thanks for sharing.
Have two of them. 91 Sahara and 94 SE Love em, easy to work on, reliable, and I actually like the square headlights.
Back in the mid 70's a few of my high school classmates had V8 Jeeps. Best looking one was brown with wide turf style tires. That thing would scoot.
I love my 92 YJ 4.0 with the AX15 transmission. She has some rust but runs great. Took her for a little ride today.
I love my 92 YJ 2.5 5 speed always surprises me
I have a 91 yj and I love it! Wish i bought one when it was new.
Jeep owner here from BC Canada. Black 95 YJ softtop 4.0 inline 6 5spd. Paint has had full paint correction a beefy exhaust cold air intake. A little lift and some 31s. Thing is mint
I have 4 yjs.....including one with a vortec v8 matched to a nv4500
Just bought a '95 Sahara 5 spd man. Decent shape. Got some rust i need to take care of. Love it.
I’d say driving at 75 mph is a stretch! haha, granted I’ve got a 4 cyl. but I totally agree on all other points!
I LOVE my '93 YJ & I'd like to see them get a bit more respect.
It's never let me down; on or off road.
I liked mine so much I bought another. Both still running. Easy to fix in a auto store parking lot on the rare occasion something does go wrong.
The YJ, the last Jeep with 4 leaf springs, like the WWII MB and GPW.
The YJ is more reliable, chromoly axles and a front axle power lock cable makes it pretty sweet.
As always Great video Tommy, and I hope my 93 goes up in price ,not that I would sell it 😀
A great video, thank you ,prices going up everyday, after some work they’re better now than it was coming off the show room floor ,I have replaced everything except for the engine, transfer case, transmission, and all the electrical stuff,so it’s pretty cool
Jeeps are already overpriced, I can't imagine what they will bring in a few years.
That's only your opinion. The market says otherwise. Go be poor somewhere else.
I just paid 4000 89, I thought it was cheap after looking at one of these digital piece of s*** pickups
Totally agree, I love them but well over priced for what you get. As far as cj's, yj's, xj's they have the least amount of metal and the least amount interior and they are expensive for what you get.
Hard to find one at a good price ...keep looking you get lucky sometimes
Driving my CJ -7 to work 40 min each way in the winter was no fun. Heater not up to the task. Fun to own in the summer but that’s it.
Dang!
that thing screams 90s all over the place.
@@jaymoar3561 hahaah that and you could see that jeep in almost every tv show or movie in the 90s
I got the renegade and it is in great condition almost no rust and the only new thing is a newer radio but it will off-road just fine
Excellent video, thanks for the information.
I love my YJ. Thanks for the history behind it. ✌
I actually prefer the YJ because of that nice blend between simplicity and modern practicality. I got an 89 Islander to learn how to wrench on it.
I rolled my CJ7, on the road. Rolled it back up right n drove home
I had a 1987 Wrangler sport model (black and tan) and then traded it for a 1991 Wrangler Renegade (red/red). They were completely stock and were my favorite vehicles I ever owned. I still wish I owned one of them. I constantly wonder where they are at now.
I got mine !!
Sweet little 89.
Complete restore.
Had a 91 and 89 they both had 2.5 and Was lucky to do 55 on the interstate but love them both and just bought a 1999 TJ sport with only 70k miles for 10k
i love this, i have an 89 yj, inline 6 with a carburetor, all original body and interior.
I love my 91' Sahara so I completely agree especially since it's pre-emissions or better know as pre OBD 2
i love driving my 95 wrangler 2.5 5 speed, going on 200000 and still running strong
Mine too. It is 93 and 210,000. Love it.
Very reliable motor. My 2.5 1995 still runs strong with zero leaks.
My 92 still has less than 100k miles
@@raptorm8242 my 98 2.5 just rolled over 90k. It's the slowest vehicle I own but still a blast to drive.
Too late, unless you want a rusted out 4 cylinder automatic. Halfway decent YJs have been overpriced for a long time in the salt belt.
.....or anywhere else for that matter.
I just sold a great 92yj for 4800. No rust. They go for 4000-6000 here in Oregon. Great jeep, gonna miss it, but I have 2 others 😀
@@JeepSolid wouldn't let my 90 4.2 go for less than 5000 if I sold it....not!! By the way, love your channel!!!
PAExploration I got a manual ‘94 YJ with a 4 cylinder for only $1800, and only had 98k miles on it when I bought it a few years ago.
90 YJ owner here... solid video, i really enjoyed it and learned a few things that i didnt know about my [] ||||||| [] Jeep. I'll take any model Jeep as long as it only has TWO doors. Case closed. :)
I ordered a 1995, 4.0 Hardtop, air, sound bar and chrome package. Still have it, still looks new. Breaking motor mounts has been it’s only issue.
My 1989 YJ automatic was getting 10 mpg with leaking oil.
This is why im sitting on my 92 even knowing it needs a new engine its my future project ive always looked it the YJ as last of the best same thing with my 92 cherokee once it gets fully retired for the road its going into storage
love my yj. 4inch lift with 33x12.5r15 5 speed 👌🏼
I’ve had a few YJs but my favorite was a 1995 Rio Grande. I sold it last year and it’s the one sale I regret. The original cloth seats were perfect and it had never been wrecked. Of course it had the usual rust areas since I live here in NY state. Oh well.
did it have the spice interior? and how much did you sell it for
@@JuanGuzman-op3hw Yes it had that interior and I sold it for only $2500 just before the prices went crazy.
I have a 91, 4.0 and 5 speed, black with the grey interior, 6” lift and 35’s, most fun vehicle ever
I just come across this video while getting ideas for my build. I bought a 95 jy that needs a frame. I already have a southern rust free frame to start with but im not sure on the rest of my build.
It’s hip to be square!
Thanks a lot Jeff!!! Now you've got Huey Lewis running through my head.
Indrid Cold do you remember how you did it? Im doing restoration project with a yj and doing a front end of a cj
Or, sell it economically but not insanely cheap.
...I have to return some videotapes.
My 83 CJ5 has a factory sway bar. Wasn’t just a YJ thing
Also CJ5 and 7 were the same width
YJ added track bars to help road manners.
CJ had a 'wide track' axle starting in '80 or '81. Axles were actually wider by a couple of inches.
Track bars are no where near the same thing as sway bars. CJ-7s weren't any wider than CJ-5s. Around 83 they put wider axles under all the CJ models.
my friend owns a '79 cj7 - the last year of the 4-speed granny gear - it is crude as F¥€K - we love it !
Thanks for the video. I was about to sale my YJ... I guess I'll keep it.
The last year the UJ was built in Edmonton Canada was 1992 . In 1993 production was brought back to Toledo Ohio .
88 yj'er here, i liked the reason for the square headlamps "squares don't roll"I always thought it was because AMC was a small company with a small design budget. As Huey Lewis sang,Its hip to be square
VERY GOOD INFORMATION ℹ️ THANKS 🙏
