I've spent my entire 70 years living in the lands of glacial till. It's taken me a while to get used to the look of this piedmont(?) mud and clay you dig in. More used to the boulders and gravel look. Interesting how it silts about. Interesting how it handles and dries out as well. Around here they would be selling that stuff as 'clean fill'.
That field, or whatever the mud dump becomes, ought to be pretty fertile with all that sediment in there now. Pond looks more like a pond now. Good work.
Huge project! I think it's amazing you did it with like minimal manpower and 2 excavators. Hoping you can stop by during the waterfall build and show updates? Cuz , ya know waterfalls🤩! Thanks again, you're amazing!
Another insightful video Chris, with a spool of black electric tape you can eliminate that flashing light. ;-) All I know about “check engine warning lights” I learned from the Click and Clack, the Tappit Brothers on NPR, Saturday mornings. Wishing you and your team another great week. Peace brother

I finally figured out the difference between an Excavator and a Bulldozer... one moves dirt backwards and the other moves dirt forwards!🤣😎Great videos Chris!
'Guin's Mud Mountain' was constructed in 2022 (for the history buffs)! Great day's work with inadvertent tree destruction. Wondered if that storm caused damage.
Ole Betty is paying her way…lol…(ROI) If Chris had a dime for every shovel of mud he has moved, he could have retired long ago as the dredge King of NC…lol. Great job.
I think he could retire already. I believe he just loves to see what he has created after he's done. I've never seen anyone run equipment like Chris and I've not seen nothing that he can't run. One thing for sure when you hire Chris you hire a working knowledgeable man not a time rider for sure. At the end of everyday he has done 5 times more then 5 guys together
Ponds coming along nicely Chris. I'll bet you'll be ridiculously happy to see the end of this mess of mud movin'. 1 good thing is, ya didn't have to dodge any snakes.
Well as bad as it is, it could have been worse with the swim area as soupy as the head section and the haul road not working out. You could have been there for months moving soup twenty times down by the dam to load. Imagine having to haul this off site due to lack of space. Lots of things went right and it will be nice when you are "on to the next" so count your blessings young man. After all, you are the king of ponds!!! Had one in a subdivision here in Missouri that they were dredging and they somehow broke through some rock into a cave and whole thing went sub terrain. Last I heard engineers were trying to figure out a way to plug the hole and fill it back up.Lots were sold as water front and it also was required for storm water retention. So yeah count your blessings for sure.
Maybe stockpile some of the white oak trees you cut down on jobs, maybe you can come up with an easier way to join them up to make mats, white oak 'if you didn't already know is a good/great outdoor wood as it tends to have special properties against water.
Why is there so much mud in that pond? Was it there from when they built the pond or did it fill in from silt coming in from the stream? Either way, it’s such a sight to see how thick you piled it up on the open field
Chris could make a short clip, just with the of the mud hitting the ground with the sound. 😉 Weather being nice working in the mud what else could a guy ask for? 🤔
I am amazed at how much you get done, especially in the mud. The mud can be like ice. Too bad you did not get the truck incident on camera......: That is a serious amount of mud you hauled out . I can't imagine your fuel costs with the prices as they are right now with all your trucks and your excavating hauling equipment running all day.
That's a lot of mud at the top of a hill. Are you going to do anything to make sure it doesn't become water logged and slide down the hill? Maybe like a french drain?
@@letsdig18 Cool. I live in a country with two seasons, wet and damp. And the damp season isn't exactly warm enough to dry stuff out if it wants to be waterlogged.

Sediment deposits over time. Sometimes nearby new construction makes runoff into the pond. That happened to us. neighbor built a pond and a barn pad and didnt say anything(he was upstream from us). Our pond depth went from 16 feet to 5. Guess who needs Chris’s skills and doesnt have access to them? Oh well.
