  • If you want to cut Thru metal like butter, throw a Diablo cermet metal demon on a metal saw such as this Milwaukee saw made to specifically cut through metal. Wait for the end to see why this saw is amazing for this application. Did you know you could easily cut through 1/4” steel?

      I fail to see why you would say that. I've had one for about 10 months and it gets a lot of use. I haven't tried the Diablo blades but the Milwaukee blades are doing fine. One night in an urgent situation I had to cut 3" solid shaft in two places and did each cut in 3 passes without any problem. Another time I ripped 2' of 2" square solid down to 2" x 1 1/2" and it left it with as good as a milled finish. This week I have used it to cut around 26' of 3/8" plate and it is quicker than using a plasma especially since the only cleanup is putting a radius on the edges.

    • @AleXBC360
      @AleXBC360 2 года назад +6

      @@davidstephens1092 I should clarify, I am not saying this saw is not amazing. I do admire it's chip collection, as through my experience when cutting with my circular saw these chips are crazy hot. But I fail to see how in this particular situation (as demonstrated in the short) how it was the saw that was the reason for the easy cut. Diablo steel demons are AMAZING blades, and as he points out at the end, is exactly what he is using. I feel any current battery powered saw will do the same if using the appropriate blade. For instance in this video (m.ruclips.net/video/t_2NG2nZe0k/видео.html) where a Makita cuts 1/2" steel and when cross cutting the I-beam (3" at one point) while using a Diablo blade. That's "all" I was saying haha. Nothing against Milwaukee, just can't claim it's the reason.

      @davidstephens1092 2 года назад +3

      @@AleXBC360 Fair enough, I haven't had a chance to try, or for that matter, need to, try the Diablo blades. I got two extra special purpose Milwaukee blades ( fin material and alloy ) when I got the saw and they are all still working perfectly. Of course I don't need to say I don't let anyone else use it. My only gripe with it is the poor visibility, but I cut a length of alloy to match the blade edge to the side of the saw and I lay that on the cut line and then scribe a line for the edge of the saw.

    • @texasfossilguy
      @texasfossilguy 2 года назад +9

      honestly its both, the speed, torque and vibration dampening have to be ideal to cut rapidly with less wear on the blades. Im sure theres actually an ideal thickness and type of material vs speed of rotation vs forward force (weight on bit) which makes blades last longer. I work on drilling rigs and we use similar formulas to determine how to make bits last longer vs efficiency.

      That’s funny; the face palm suggests you think you’re intellectually superior, or everyone else is stupid. Unfortunately you’re incredibly naive.
      The blade is key, but the saw is just as important for practicality and longevity. Metal saws run at a lower speeds, keeping blade temps down, and extending the life of the blade. The lower speed also means less heat in the material and the chips, hence no sparks, and less potential damage to any vulnerable surfaces/materials (think painted steel). Finally, the guard and capture system means vastly less cleanup, and much more comfortable cutting. Using a standard saw with a Diablo blade will, most certainly, end with getting battered with chips, if you’re trying to follow any line with accuracy.

      I'm not going to lie my dad and I almost framed an entire house with one 12 amp hour battery on our milwuakee circular saw. That metal cutting is significantly more stress than a 2x6 though.

    • @cc23001
      @cc23001 2 года назад +1

      @@justicependray9650 good info. Only thing with cutting metal is you can't go nearly as fast as wood.. The blade is much more of a limiting factor.. That bracket looks to be ~1/4" so significantly stronger than a 2x6 but if you tested stud for stud wood vs metal I bet battery life would be comparable because the material is so much thinner with metal and still have to watch travel speeds with carbide on the blades

      Thats not really how a circular saw works. Pushing faster is actually a bad thing to a point. Feed fast enough to not take 5 minutes for the cut but not too fast to where you bind up the saw. This video is showcasing the collector for the metal shavings. Not the saw cutting thru those brackets. Thats been doable for a while now.
