I don't like the fender guitars that much, especially acoustic, but that guitar looks so nice!! I want to get that one, but I needed to see videos of it.
I know this video is old,but this guitar is STILL being sold regularly in my local music shop. I think a testament to the value and quality of this instrument. Just got mine yesterday.

Of all the acoustics priced under $500 Fender seems to be the best sounding and playing. They actually compare to $1000 or more acoustics of other brands.

I got this new for 200 quid. It is beautiful.
I have one, the sound improves with time. Or maybe I was improving, dunno. But I like the guitar, and I only really use a guitar to write music, as I'm not a great player. Not even slightly. That it's rich in colour makes it seem like a good thing to look at. So it has aesthetic value too.

I learned to play guitar with this one. But now I would like something lighter, nylon strings perhaps. Would you agree that this guitar is quite heavy on the fingers, big and not really good for bar chords as its hard to press...

Funny. I am going to buy this guitar - but not because he was funny - but because it sounds good and is easy to play and is a Fender - I have a couple of Fenders and if I had another one I would a trio of them. This one looks cool too.

I have the spruce model and really like it.
I have had three of this guitar over the span of a year and a half and literally all of them have had a bad rasp problem on the higher frets. My first one got to the point where the high e string stopped changing notes around 7th fret and up. The strings sounded so chocked and dead. I couldn't get any good sound out of it. This one lasted only a few months. I brought it to guitar center and as soon as the tech looked at it, he was like "nope" and he gave me a new one. The second one I had lasted me nearly a year. That one was good for a while but it started getting rasp around the higher frets and it started to sound like the first one. Very recently, I brought it in again and the tech said its not worth it to fix it and he was able to give me a new one. This one now has a rasp on tenth fret on the high e string. I've had this new guitar for only two months and prior to rasp on tenth fret, there was rasp on the second fret of the high e string. Thankfully that was fixable. The thing is, I have followed all of the advice the technician gave me to prevent this but it just keeps happening. I keep it away from the heaters and the laundry room. I keep it in its case and upright against a wall (I don't have a stand for it). I keep the temperature at a reasonable level (I was told 60-ish degrees fahrenheit is okay). love this guitar because it sounds so great when it doesnt have a rasp problem. Im at a loss here of what to do.
This sounds so much better then the redondos or newporters or whatever and it's even cheaper. Crazy.

thewolverine Solid top. Laminated back and sides. $199 dreadnought, no electronics, $299 cut away with Fishman electronics brand spanking new at your local fender dealer. I played one today. It sounds great. I was genuinely surprised. It's made in China or Indonesia. BUT it's a nice sounding guitar.

Guitar strings are totally up to you. There is a lot that goes into it, but the heavier the gauge - the better the sound.
The thinner the string - the easier it is to play.
11 or 12 is typical for acoustics.

Mahogany ??? My understanding the is top is spruce. Can you clarify this. Where is it made? I am considering this for a under$500.00 for one of my Kids.

Certainly! It's a high quality guitar that you won't need to upgrade. I.e. it's used by intermediates and experienced players too!

I would but pmt Nottingham has none in stock after a train ride to visit and try one, and even tried to get one sent to shop to try before I buy but pmt wouldn’t even deliver one of there own guitars to there own store for a customer, so I ordered one of Amazon at £24 cheaper and same return policy.

Not quite right, for 'all mahogany' read mahogany top, and mahogany laminate back and sides, who do adverts like this get past the trades and description Law?
@I Yes that's true, but it's still misleading, a while back I sent an email to one of the leading guitar on line store about a guitar they sold as 'all mahogany' when in fact the whole body of the guitar top, sides, and bottom are made of mahogany laminate. I got an email back saying 'they would look into the wording of their advert', but I notice they still have it as 'all mahogany'.
@I I always go with the saying 'buyer beware', if it looks too good to be true it usually is, the price of a guitar is a great way usually to judge how much of it is actually solid wood and how much is pressed saw-dust, glue, and a thin veneer of wood.

Sorry to be a dog in a manger, but I disagree with this review. I just bought this guitar 8th March, 2021 and apart from looking handsome on the guitar stand, due to all that lovely mahogany wood, the guitar sucks big time. Dagan bangs on about Fender's easy to play neck! Nope nothing of the sort, and it is varnished which makes matters worse. The profile is not comfortable for a beginner, so I do not know where Fender are doing their research or why they think it is so comfortable, they must be talking to the wrong people. Maybe they should try asking beginners to trial the guitar and write reports. The next problem is a combination of higher than expected action and those bloody awful Fender Dura-Tone Coated 80/20 Bronze (.012-.052 Gauge) strings. They are like piano strings and very hard to fret unless you are a gorilla. Sonically it is also poor, with a rather muddled sound, especially when compared to my Yamaha F310 which projects a beautiful clean sound. Also the neck on the F310 has a perfect profile for any beginner and it is satin so no sticking to it when you get hot and sweaty. The action is low and super comfortable to play. No wonder Yamaha sell so many guitars. I think Fender need to go back to the drawing with their acoustic guitars because from where I stand, this being a customers that spent good money on a Fender CD-60SCE and now feels cheated they just ain't got it right !
