there are so many reasons why people choose to stay in the closet and calling them weird for "acting gay" while not being out is not it. i agree that kpop stans take their projections too far and that they get weird ab it, but that isn't on the idols. yes the kpop industry has a history of harmful queerbaiting and that's a conversation that should be had, the conversation is not, however, whether or not actual queer idols are valid for choosing to speak up about their sexuality and their community or not. neither of them makes you a better queer person because both are valid ways to live. staying silent about your own sexuality is your choice and your right. i think there are so many valuable, important conversations to be had about queerness pertaining to the kpop industry, but that conversation is never going to be about the individual idols' sexuality and whether they choose to be open about it or not, because frankly, it's none of our business.
