But every friendship is different. I bet these kpop idols prefer their members over their fans anyways. It is also a cultural difference, jokes like that is common to make in Korea. We have to remember they grew up in that culture and that influences them.

They're not that much talked in the international sphere anymore, despite they've come back from their military hiatus and being one of the most well known k-Bands from the 3rd generation along with The Rose.

Overall I'd agree that they're not overrated, especially given their company, the lack of "buzz" on their last comeback, and how long they've been in the industry, but they are one of the most talked about and known k-band, so for someone who wants to get more into k-bands/ listens to k-bands they will overwhelmingly hear more about them in that space.

One other thing I wanted to note was that colorist humor among SM idols is prevalent across the whole company. I never forgot the burial of Chen’s Kunta Kinte joke, nor the self-deprecating/in-group colorist remarks made by SNSD, SHINee, GOT the beat, the numerous offenses by SuJu, etc. It seems to be part of the SM idol culture. Given that SM has been notorious for being the most obsessed with ideal visuals out of the big three since they’ve existed, it’s disappointing but not surprising.
Regarding Girls Generation calling Yuri a black pearl is a compliment. Yuri is often praised for her visuals and is often said to be in the visual line along with Yoona, Seohyun and Taeyeon.

I get you chose titles and one b side that all sound different but for me personally I love that they have a theme going on. Instruments Get a Guitar, Talk Saxy, Boom Boom Bass. Personally I like that they have a concept and stick to it. I do hope in the future they do something that’s unexpected of them to release. Hongjoong is probably the best male artist that chungha has ever collaborated with considering the fact that male features in her other works often downgrade songs that otherwise would've been so much better with just her singing imo.This might be due to the fact that this collabortion clearly considered both Chungha and Hoonjoong's identity as music artists, with Eenie Meenie's soundscape feeling very much on brand with Ateez's music and the choreography referencing Ateez's title tracks'. Despite it being different from Chungha's previous works' it still feels on brand with her since she either has experimental songs that showcase her playful, charismatic side or her elegant, edgy side through her dance. I hope that chungha collaborates with more female artists in the future like her recent acoustic 2000s inspired song with thuy that was released a few days ago.

for me I think the fifi situation is so nuanced that at this point, I'm so undecided for where i should stand. That is if you choose to believe what was shown in courts along with Keena’s testimony. At the moment, they have the most solid and strong case. However, the og girls are still victims, as this abuse was also with manipulation and gaslighting from The Givers. I’m happy to see the girls getting a second chance though. All three are very talented. And Attrakt is at fault for neglecting to keep a tabs on their talent. They unknowingly made an environment where all this abuse could happen under their noses without realizing it. For instance, they had no idea Aran needed surgery bc texts shown in court shows that The Givers withheld that information from Attrakt. I think this is the perfect example of how Attrakt wasn’t connected to the situation enough and The Givers abuse was able to take hold.

Number 72. I think Girls on Top and SuperM should either come back with their original members or not come back at all. A huge part of their groups popularity is because of the line up. Having Girls Generation, Red Velvet, and aespa members in one group is INSANE, and no other members would be able to fit their spots, same thing with SuperM, having Taemin, Exo, and NCT members. #49/#50 i have an opinion on how the marketing of 4th and 5th gen groups (including but not limited to age range + concepts), an influx of solo stan's in 3rd gen, bg stans vs gg stans, armies, and the commercialization of kpop as a whole (ex. having 7 unnecessary album versions) has all contributed to this shift towards people becoming casual fans but i dont have the words to articulate it yet

All their releases, bsides and tt’s, sound the same and have the same formula and the same concept when it comes to lyrics. The girls themselves are also not appealing. Jennie is lazy, acts like a child but chooses to ‘act’ in a show about p0rn. Lisa did a strip performance, and it was stripping bc how do you start a performance in clothes and end it with barely covering the essentials, her solo music is also so meaningless and cringe and she needs to stop. Jisoo has little to no talent, she never has and she never will, she needs to stick to acting. She can kinda act. Rosé actually has talent and has good solo music, but her joining the black label is 😬. Somi 2.0 here we go ig. Ok I'm gonna weigh in on n°17 because it is worrying to see idols go to the hospital so often, but as I've seen in a video of someone who lives in Korea, it's actually common to go to the hospital when you're not feeling well (just sick, not about to die) and they just give you some pills to feel better. So I think most of the times, this is part of a common practice and there's nothing to worry about. But if it's from severe fatigue and they gotta go get IV drips then...yikes. maybe since these treatments are so accesible they just wait until they have 1% hp to get admitting into the hospital 💀 idk
I always have a hard time picking favourites, but Lucy is definitely at least one of the best k-bands out there in my opinion. I also think their concept is quite unique. I haven't seen anyone else do what they do. I listen to other bands and love their music as well, but I can see how they don't really stand out as much as Lucy does. At least in my opinion. I really want to see more mermaid concepts too, for sure a missed opportunity. About more furry songs in Kpop...personally they're a hit or miss for me. But it's fun to see songs that stand out and often don't take themselves too seriously. I think we need more songs that don't take themselves too seriously in general, and if furry songs is the key to that then so be it.

It's just...sad that it didn't get talked about in the international community this much. It was their first album after the military and their first work as four, just these two factors should have been enough to get some attention.

Overall I'd agree that they're not overrated, especially given their company, the lack of "buzz" on their last comeback, and how long they've been in the industry, but they are one of the most talked about and known k-band, so for someone who wants to get more into k-bands/ listens to k-bands they will overwhelmingly hear more about them in that space.

One other thing I wanted to note was that colorist humor among SM idols is prevalent across the whole company. I never forgot the burial of Chen’s Kunta Kinte joke, nor the self-deprecating/in-group colorist remarks made by SNSD, SHINee, GOT the beat, the numerous offenses by SuJu, etc. It seems to be part of the SM idol culture. Given that SM has been notorious for being the most obsessed with ideal visuals out of the big three since they’ve existed, it’s disappointing but not surprising.
Regarding Girls Generation calling Yuri a black pearl is a compliment. Yuri is often praised for her visuals and is often said to be in the visual line along with Yoona, Seohyun and Taeyeon.

Hongjoong is probably the best male artist that chungha has ever collaborated with considering the fact that male features in her other works often downgrade songs that otherwise would've been so much better with just her singing imo.This might be due to the fact that this collabortion clearly considered both Chungha and Hoonjoong's identity as music artists, with Eenie Meenie's soundscape feeling very much on brand with Ateez's music and the choreography referencing Ateez's title tracks'. Despite it being different from Chungha's previous works' it still feels on brand with her since she either has experimental songs that showcase her playful, charismatic side or her elegant, edgy side through her dance.
I hope that chungha collaborates with more female artists in the future like her recent acoustic 2000s inspired song with thuy that was released a few days ago.

for me I think the fifi situation is so nuanced that at this point, I'm so undecided for where i should stand. That is if you choose to believe what was shown in courts along with Keena’s testimony. At the moment, they have the most solid and strong case.

Number 72. I think Girls on Top and SuperM should either come back with their original members or not come back at all. A huge part of their groups popularity is because of the line up. Having Girls Generation, Red Velvet, and aespa members in one group is INSANE, and no other members would be able to fit their spots, same thing with SuperM, having Taemin, Exo, and NCT members. Plus, lets be fr, at least 70% of SuperM fans are waiting for their comeback because of Lucas.

Especially due to the fact that they HAVE been spreading misinformation to target BTS and we DO have the receipts to back it up (also I've seldom seen armies claim misinformation without evidence in the many years I've been here).
I also am interested in solo projects of Blackpink members more than any ot4 music. because we all have seen what YG does with Blackpink's discography and they will give more of the same in the future. but with Blackpink girls being in charge of their own music we can be excited to get something new with artistic vision and direction the girls would like to take.
Also, I don't think signing with The black label means anything bad for Rose. I still believe she has a bigger say in her career and discography.

I don’t get where the bp support comes from. All their releases, bsides and tt’s, sound the same and have the same formula and the same concept when it comes to lyrics. The girls themselves are also not appealing. Jennie is lazy, acts like a child but chooses to ‘act’ in a show about p0rn. Lisa did a strip performance, and it was stripping bc how do you start a performance in clothes and end it with barely covering the essentials, her solo music is also so meaningless and cringe and she needs to stop. Jisoo has little to no talent, she never has and she never will, she needs to stick to acting. She can kinda act. Rosé actually has talent and has good solo music, but her joining the black label is 😬. Somi 2.0 here we go ig. There is so reason for them to be the biggest gg, when there are other girl groups with so much more talent, better songs, better concepts, and better personalities.

Ok I'm gonna weigh in on n°17 because it is worrying to see idols go to the hospital so often, but as I've seen in a video of someone who lives in Korea, it's actually common to go to the hospital when you're not feeling well (just sick, not about to die) and they just give you some pills to feel better. So I think most of the times, this is part of a common practice and there's nothing to worry about.
But if it's from severe fatigue and they gotta go get IV drips then...yikes. maybe since these treatments are so accesible they just wait until they have 1% hp to get admitting into the hospital 💀 idk

I always have a hard time picking favourites, but Lucy is definitely at least one of the best k-bands out there in my opinion. I also think their concept is quite unique. I haven't seen anyone else do what they do. I listen to other bands and love their music as well, but I can see how they don't really stand out as much as Lucy does. At least in my opinion.
I really want to see more mermaid concepts too, for sure a missed opportunity.
About more furry songs in Kpop...personally they're a hit or miss for me. But it's fun to see songs that stand out and often don't take themselves too seriously. I think we need more songs that don't take themselves too seriously in general, and if furry songs is the key to that then so be it.
