That's correct - in terms of online products, memberships and subscription boxes are typically viewed as totally different things and so membership plugins won't be what you're looking for. There should be specific software available for subscription boxes, however that's not something we have any experience with ourselves so can't make any recommendations I'm afraid!

As mentioned on the other video I can't think of any plugins that would do this. However it's something a half-decent web developer would definitely be able to code up pretty quickly
Do you know a free WordPress plugin that offers basic features, like a subscription. No payment is required, but the content can only be read by users who subscribed?
