Great review Dave! Lots of good suggestions to improve the plug-in. I'm sure they'll implement them as they were logical. The payment integration will probably take the most time. Have you built course websites on the past? Which plugin did you use then? Which one would you recommend today? Thanks, awesome job mang!
Thanks Zpepe, yes my career outside of RUclips is building course websites. I've used LearnDash almost exclusively and still what I'd recommend for courses in WordPress.
Thanks! There are 3 of them not related to LTDs :) clientamp.com/server-savant/ (Self hosted software) clientamp.com/daves-toolbox/ (Productivity & Desktop Apps) clientamp.com/whats-pressing/ (WordPress)
Thanks for the overview. As with most Fluent new products, lots of little things missing. Mentioned that in their FB release post and got me head chewed off 🤪 Question: can you make Courses only visible to paid members - eg: Woocommerce or other payment? Per course? Pay for access to a group of courses?
Thanks for the comment Sam -- I do cover monetization in the video a bit. It's convulted right now. It needs a simple stripe integration for the normies. Help docs (affiliate links too!): fluentcommunity.co/docs/monetizing-your-courses/?ref=71 fluentcommunity.co/docs/monetizing-your-spaces/?ref=71
@@dave-swift it will be much appreciated if in your future reviews you could add information on payment gateways other than Stripe and PayPal for people that can't have them. Thanks, Dave!
What do you think the server costs per month would be to host this? I know it's a hard question but maybe some range indication based on your knowledge.
Hey Vastee... yep, you're right. Really hard to say! How many concurrent users? Are you running FluentCRM, FluentSupport, FluentBooking, & FluentBoards too? Minimum 2 cores 4GB ram, to get started! Obviously no shared hosting.
I'm not Dave haha. But I saw Shajahan (from WPManageNinja) saying somewhere that their whole community is built with this and is hosted on a $10 VPS. That community has 3155 members as of right now, and seems to be an active community. I don't know what would be needed for a larger community.
Dave, don't you think their pricing is way too much for a new wordpress plugin. These guys have been absolute a** when it comes to pricing their prodct. I would prefer suredash any day than this overhyped team
$199 is really a steal compared to Circle.so which is $99 a month. Pricing is also very subjective. Only because you can't afford it, it doesn't mean it's overpriced.
Suredash says they will be able to handle other WP plugins working with their system and apparently that can't be done with this product, don't quote me on that, just what was said on FB
My honest opinion? People are way too price sensitive when it comes to WordPress. It's been too cheap for too long. Building a community like this yourself (with custom development) would cost 6 figures.
I agree. Personally I like many of their products, but you can tell FluentCommunity isn't really intuitive right now (as Dave hilariously poked around throughout his video) and needs more work. As an infant plugin it definitely feels overpriced right now. As an agency we also don't like how they remain so stingy and hard-nosed about offering another round of FluentCRM lifetime deals to compliment their ecosystem of products. These SaaS companies need to realize that LTDs aren't going to put them out of business as long as they only offer it periodically, especially when they have plenty of revenue streams from all their other products. This is why us and many other agency owners I know have ended up investing in the Sure ecosystem created by BrainstormForce and their partners.
I personally want them to charge the amount that will keep them going. I would actually rather buy one of their higher priced items than anything on Appsumo, because I know/like/trust them.
14 seconds in and I know already I'll like this series
🙏
Heck yea! Same
Great review - and a great new series, Dave!
@jpflynnoz thank you 👍
I must say, this was an excellent review. I have a video about this coming soon on my channel, but you handled it so well!
Appreciate that, looking forward to seeing your take!
Would love to see you review the Sure suite of products especially the upcoming Suredash.
Thanks for the request, @FlyFilipe. 🙏
@FlyFilipe Is there a beta group for SureDash that you know of? (or @dave-swift are you in one?)
DAVE THANK YOU!!! I love and appreciate the new things that you’re doing! Great quality content as ALWAYS!!! 🎉
love your enthusiasm @vfajardo3, thanks for giving me a smile!

@dave-swift yeah I've built one a few years back and I used Learndash too (very comprehensive)
I like your series outside of Appsumo! 👍

2 seconds later in the video you cover payment protected areas. Looks like a nightmare. Will leave my courses in LearnDash me thinks.

Dave, any way to add tests to courses?
Not natively... I imagine they would recommend that you use Fluent Forms to build quizzes? Just a guess.

Well, Dave, I'm assuming they know you, there is still time for them to make those changes, because no one wants to be confused.
Oh, absolutely. This product will be 10x better in a year. And it's not bad right now.
Hmmm...I don't see anything that Buddy Boss doesn't do. No dog in the hunt though. I hope they do well. I can't see ever buying this on WP though.
I think the main thing is that BuddyBoss is going to require you to use their theme. Also, this is WAY easier for the average person to understand.
Cool, to see you here Charles! This plugin has hardly any load on your WordPress servers. See you on W+
Buddy boss runs on archaic code. This is modern, JavaScript and very snappy
all these saas and plugins you review need to hire you as a UI/UX consultant, or just watch your videos
Hire me WPManageNinja.
I think many of them know who Dave is and WILL watch the video!
