    I'll miss the Charger and Challenger. Even though I never owned one, I had much fun just looking at 'em. I dreamed of having something like a '68-'70 Charger, but they're priced so far out of sight it will remain nothing but a dream for me. I have my "Hemmings Muscle Machines" magazines to read! _(9/17/2023)_

      They'll be back one day, either as EV's or a change of management that kicks out all the current ones or something comes out about the inner goings or some drama and end up going back with newer and better team that knows who to do cars, so yeah

    A couple years ago, I rented a Crysler Pacifica Hybrid for a couple weeks. That van was SOLID inside and out! The hybrid version costs too much to justify what I think was just an extra 20 miles of electric only range, but when I save enough money I'll buy a 2017 gas only version.

    • @MarspeedCars
      @MarspeedCars  8 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah I’m not a minivan guy whatsoever but I agree that these are pretty sweet vehicles. The interior is nice and has great features and the 3.6L is totally fine for a daily driver in terms of both power and fuel economy. The hybrid is slower for barely any electric range so I agree with you there

    I wish the Chrysler division of Stellantis made more cars. It's time to stop playing defensively, and more offensively. We need a new Chrysler 200, Dodge Dart, Caravan, Avenger, Journey, Neon, and Dakota, etc. We need a full lineup of Dodge cars and Chrysler cars to take down the imports. They should pretend it’s the 90s all over again.

    You always have the best Mopar coverage! And I don’t know about you guys but that Hornet should not be marketed as part of the Brotherhood of Muscle, but what rather the Federation of Compact Utility Vehicles or something like that. My wife was in the market for a compact suv and we test drove the Hornet and she thought it was plain and boring. Instead she bought a Jeep Renegade Altitude that looks street tough and has 4wd as well and she absolutely loves it. Of course it’s a Fiat 500x at heart but it’s also absolutely a Jeep. I don’t know who will buy those Hornets but I can absolutely guarantee it won’t be us in the Brotherhood. Unless it’s for our daughters as their first car, etc

    • @MarspeedCars
      @MarspeedCars  8 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks I appreciate it! Yeah I’m with you, the Hornet seems to have a bad rap already and everyone hates it. I don’t think it’s that bad myself, but any video I post of it gets hate and seemingly not many people that I talk to in the industry want to buy it. That being said, it’s just not a performance vehicle, and the R/T with a 0-60 of 5.6 seconds WITH the powershot is just meh and not turning the dial for anyone especially for $40+K for an R/T. This should have been a Chrysler vehicle instead. My guess is Dodge is trying to fill the Journey void with the Hornet, but the Journey actually provided value and size and this Hornet doesn’t give you much.

      @@MarspeedCarsI don’t think it’s fair to say everyone hates it. I think it’s hardcore dodge people who hate it. When I drive my hornet around I get a ton of looks and compliments from strangers. Yet when I go on the internet it gets a ton of hate.

Why not, they are one of the same companies as we speak. Also, Citreon had some pretty nice vehicles as well. If Chrysler doesn't get off its' dead butt, there won't be a brand to buy.

      It’s nothing standard, but more of a custom fit just for the parachute. It gets mounted to the frame of the car or else it would rip off when getting deployed. So it is removable, but not a hitch or anything similar. You could probably take off the parachute and MacGyver something else to it

    I Believe Alfa Romeo could fill the void for either Dodge or Chrysler vehicles. Considering the Alfa vehicles are imports like the Hornet. With a favorable import tax status like Hyundai and Kia. It could be more cost effective while increasing profits If either becomes a replacements or additions to the Dodge brand while it's possible the status of the Chrysler brand could become their luxury and the EV division. Obviously these considerations are best guess possibles, but with the slow release of new drive on the stage Dodge and Chrysler vehicles and with Chrysler being down to only one vehicle, the Pacifica. It just doesn't make sense having two divisions (Dodge and Chrysler) currently manufacturering only 4 total vehicles in the US and one in Italy. I keep waiting to see videos of camo covered Dodge test mules testing on American roads. With the current UAW strike. This will likely push back vehicle development for Stellantis and the Likely delaying of new vehicle development.

      Even just bring the crossfire back, as a smaller coupe or something. That would be sick. And yes they should have done a 300 Hellcat farewell not the 6.4L, we all know they would have been able to sell literally any amount of them. If 3,000 people bought a 2021 Durango Hellcat, I bet 6,000+ would’ve bought the 300 Hellcat

    Stellantis probably hates muscle cars, even though these Dodges have to be hugely profitable. In any case, I think they are eliminating these cars too soon. There's still time for another generation really.

  • @ricokimbro4316

    The EV Charger is little boring, generic. It doesn't really evoke a classic Charger much.
    I'm glad there is still an SRT Durango, but I'm tired of looking at the Durango, and the SRT version is too expensive, especially with that cheap plastic interior. The Grand Cherokee and Durango were platform mates, but apparently, Chrysler plans to dump the Durango eventually, given no new one.

  • @jamiebray8532
    @jamiebray8532 8 месяцев назад

    I love the look of the new charger. It's the power train I don't like. These lithium batteries are dangerous. And you're not really a damn thing for the environment with ev's. The vast majority of the world power generation is by non renewables. And achieving a pure non pollution electric grid is not going to happen with current technology. So dodge just needs to go ahead and slap the hemi in it, & really nod to the '60's charger.

    I just wish that electric charger had a gas engine. Doesn't need to be a v8, I would even take it with a v6 or little 4 cylinder engine, I just want it in gas. There are still many places in the US that has no electric car infrastructure, and some places too cold for electric. Where I live gets -50 F, which will kill electric cars.

    I think I speak for all of us mopar fans that their secretiveness is getting ridiculous. Same cars at all of the auto shows this year with zero glimpse of what’s to come. No reveals, just more secrets. CDJR lots next year are going to look pathetic with the hornet, Durango and over flow of GT charges no one’s wants. On top of that Jeep can’t sell a damn thing with zero excitement and buzz. Man, we just need something to look forward too. Even if It’s just the IH6
