    Thank you Irene .Yes I agree. Deborah had a lovely modulated tone to her voice and perfect diction .As you know she was born in Helensburgh Which is only 5 miles from Balloch where I was brought up!!

      Practically neighbours! :) Too bad, she left the area when very young.
      I must have been in your neighbourhood too, a long time ago, when I visited Edinburgh and I went on a cruise on Loch Lomond.

      Audrey black i agree with you that she has perfect diction. As English is not my mother tongue, i have no problem hearing her as she was very clear in her pronunciation. Such an excellent actress. I always thought she would be a great English teacher or headmistress as well.

    A gracious lady, in the best sense of the word, and a superlative actress, one of the greatest of her day. Ave, atque, vale.

      Fräulein Ann absolutely agreed with you. I also recently discovered her old movie "an affair to remember". Her act is timeless. I wish I could have lived in her time. RIP

      Now it's the perfect time for a re-watch: Valentine's day, plus it's the year of the 60th anniversary of the movie. Nothing like sobbing once more on this classic (like I did a couple of days ago) ;)

    What a lovely lady Deborah Kerr is inside and out

    • @IreneXandra
      @IreneXandra  7 лет назад +2

      Very true, and she was genuinely that way, without any artifice for publicity reasons. Also true about her voice, it's one of my favourite "musics" to listen to.

    I may be completely wrong.
    But for some reason I get the impression that this lady was well grounded in who she truly was as a person. She didn't lose her true identity in this Hollywood stuff.
    She seems precocious, down to earth, inquisitive, shy and bashful.
    I imagine her being right at home and comfortable, say, an almost hidden figure while attending a glamerous celebrity party. But when the cameras flock to and surround her, yeah she will smile, and pose- but deep inside her heart she is like
    "Please hurry up and get this over with so I can go back and shrink into the background where I prefer."
    Deborah Kerr was one gorgeous woman. But the inner beauty of a woman shines more brilliantly than her physical features.
    So for me, as far as I am aware- this epitomizes Deborah.

    She must have been a very good dancer to even be ' back row of the swans' as she calls it And Sadler's Wells no less. What a wonderful interesting person to get to know. And so lovely in every way.
