We see them when we have the capacity to "see" them. Her husband Peter Viertel said her self-effacement and her kindness was very rare in their line of work- especially in someone so gifted and beautiful.
When i left school at 15 years old the first things i bought with my allowance from my first weeks wages was 2 ties and a photo of deborah kerr. I still have one of the ties and the photo. I always wanted to act with her and was very upset when michael anderson jr won the part of her son in the sundowners in which also starred my other favorite actress glynis johns. Im now 76 years old and still have deep regret that i never met deborah or glynis. Thats life i guess.❤😢
Just 10 best? I couldn’t have done it. This is my favourite actress of all time… when I went to Hawaii and I got to the beach where the kissing scene was filmed, I went down there and sat on the beach and recreate it in my mind… keep up the great work, I agree with you on almost all your choices!

And most of the movies you mentioned have given me such great entertainment. HOWEVER: How could you skip Night of the Iguana. I still feel such rich, lush vibrations at listening to her voice oppisite Richard Burton as iconic Man & Woman---Adam & Eve. Such perfect tone and delivery that their lines were like the greatest prose of our language(s) poetry. How could you leave out this one? I've always loved this actress and all her movies. I usually 'rate' a film by how likely I am to watch it again (and again). With that in mind, my favorite Deborah Kerr movie is "Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison". My sister and I got to watch this in theatres when it first came out, and loved it. Anytime we have the opportunity, we enjoy watching it again.
