The scene in The Lion in WInter, where she forces herself to watch Henry kiss his mistress, has stayed with me for years as the greatest acting I have ever experienced. You felt what she was feeling all the way through.

I believe one of the all time best scenes in film is David Nivens final scene with Kerr in Seperate Tables. They were both above and beyond. Thought her movies were all great...... Loved so many.... The Chalk Garden was cool......

Oh my god. It never fails to infuriate me when people from the United States refer to all Latin countries as being part of South America. For Christ sake. Did you not have 4th grade geography? And Mexico is also NOT part of South America, or Central America. It's part of North America. BTW, I am a white American, born and raised in Austin, Texas.

I definitely agree with your pick even though I haven’t seen her Rossellini films. Not her best performance, but a personal favorite of mine is Cactus Flower. Though Goldie Hawn received all the honors, but I like Ingrid the best in this picture. She was such a fine comedienne!

There is a THIRD movie where Scott played the same character as Cobb - both played Willie Loman in Death of a Salesman, though Scott's performance was on stage.

I think my favorite of her films would probably be Notorious (1946).

Well, I guess I would pick another three as my favorite ones: "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (her scenes with both Jekyll and Hyde are amazing!), "The visit" (which I find a very underrated film. True, it's far from the original grotesque conceived by Durrenmatt, but all in all the message that money can buy everyone and destroy anyone is clear-cut and both Bergman and Quinn give powerful performances), and "The human voice" (a true tour de force, as simple as that, Bergman is marvelous there). My honorable mentions would go for "En kvinnas ansikte" (the priginal Swedish film version of "A woman's face", later remade in Hollywood with Joan Crawford in a more "romantic" version) and "Cactus flower" (showing Bergman's versatility as a comedian).

Was very impressed with JT Walsh’s performances in ‘A Few Good Men’ and ‘The Big Picture’. Sorry he had to leave us at the young age of 54. Sadly, too many people pick up the smoking habit, have a hard time quitting and it becomes their undoing.

Loved this!! Thank you. At 77 my whole life is filled with this wonderful woman's movies. As a young child, The King & I filled me with such joy. The Innocents floored me in my teens. And most of the movies you mentioned have given me such great entertainment. HOWEVER: How could you skip Night of the Iguana. I still feel such rich, lush vibrations at listening to her voice oppisite Richard Burton as iconic Man & Woman---Adam & Eve. Such perfect tone and delivery that their lines were like the greatest prose of our language(s) poetry. How could you leave out this one? I've always loved this actress and all her movies. Thanks again.

Great video but it hurt my heart! I’m so sad I never got to see him do theatre, I’ve seen RUclips clips and he’s captivating. I remember his wife saying in a documentary that he was unsure whether to take the part of Gomez because if the film was a hit he was concerned that it’d be the only thing he was known for…but I’m so glad he did, those films are still two of my favourites and he is absolutely incredible in them. Oh also, you mentioned him offering to do one of the parts for free - he also did Kiss of the Spiderwoman (one of my other favourite movies, that I thought was going to be number 1!) for free, he and William Hurt only got their expenses paid…he really was an incredible man, still makes me sad to this day that he’s gone.

I loved The Apartment. It tackles serious issues like suicide in a sensitive way. Mr Roberts is a must see too, if not for his performance then the star studded cast . My favourite by far because I watched it so often as a child is The Great Race., again alongside Tony Curtis. He plays a caricature so I guess that’s why it’s not on your list but for me as a kid, time well spent.
