      @@F1rstWorldNomaD - Yeah sure thing. And I'm sure there's people out there that think C.C. DeVille is a better guitarist that Eddie Van Halen. Or that a Flock of Seagulls blows away Led Zeppelin. And those people can agree to disagree. Tina's note separation and feel was traded off for the shear ability to just simply hit the notes.....tone is out the window and on par with watching somebody impressively smoke on a typewriter. BORING! This comparison is real similar to (lets say) comparing Chris Impellitteri to Yngwie. One picks notes cleanly and the other buzz saws 'em to get the job done.......you decide which is which. Tina's great......but I'm sure she too wishes she could hit those notes and not sound so lifeless. Michael Angelo Baito is a monster shredder.....and lifeless too. He sounds like a computer. Works for him, but I'd never want to play like that.....trade off feel for speed. And, if given the choice, I wouldn't trade my skill set for Tina's......she don't scare me none Yo-Yo is a way better guitarist than Tina S. And (likely) the best guitar player alive is a Russian kid named Max Ostro. He has it all. He don't learn tunes.....he digests people's complete styles, burps, and says "...what's next?" Plays Yngwie so perfect you cannot hear any difference....not even the slightest. If I was Stevie Vai.....I would be scared of this kid.....he's on another planet completely.

    Both extremely terrific, of course! Tina S displays more impressive technique and speed.
    I enjoy listening to Laura's more (disagreeing with many here). The pace and phrasing I think are truer to Vivaldi's intent (if anyone can say that).
    That such a complex orchestral piece with point-counterpoint combined with percussion can be played by a single musician on a guitar says a lot about the artists' skill and musicianship! Win-win. May they both have extremely successful and satisfying careers!

      Thank you for your sincere comment. It's been my objective since day ONE to put the emphasis on the artist first. I also love and welcome controversy, as it creates chatter..sometimes , not always good. I am impressed , however on the comments this video got. Very positive and constructive, with very little DWEEB FACTOR That's great! Whenever you put 2 amazing guitarists together, you are always going to get who is better, who is fastest, who is cleaner, who is your personal favorite.
      In my mind, they are are both great. Tina has the slight edge with the Metal flavor of the song and Laura has more classical feel to her rendition of the song. There is no LOSER or WINNER , as both gals have 2 totally different styles. I enjoy listening to both of them, as the contrast is what makes them so unique. Without the backing tracks it might sound a little different. Also as the listener we have our own bias to styles. Some like a softer tone and then Laura has the edge. Some like a heavier tone and the Tina has it. I think we should applaud both for a lot of hard work and REAL talent.

    Both of these girls blow the doors off of anything I've ever done in my life. I'm not going to embarrass myself by pretending I'm in any position to judge either of them. They are both incredibly talented and light years ahead of me. Tina has always been a guitar God to me, that magic will never change. Never seen this other girl before, but clearly super talented. Anyone that can be put side by side with Tina S in a comparison automatically claims the title best of the best, so there's that. One song is hardly enough to go by as well, but seriously, why even bother doing a comparison. Let's just call them both Gods and be done with it. People work crazy hard to get to this level, even prodigies. Why disparage their hard work by calling one the best and one second best. I'm tired of people getting trophies just for showing up as much as the next guy, but these two definitely both deserve one.

    I find this an interesting topic, let's discuss.
    Lauren Lace has a very polished sound. I have seen her play on stage (In a video) and she did a fine job. Specifically, I think Lace has a more established feel for rhythm and has demonstrated her stage presence. Like Eric Clapton she is crystal clear and deliberate with her phrasing. She is a polished and proficient technician.
    Tina S. is an artist, I believe her sound is still evolving and I have seen no videos of her playing in front of an audience. Her best playing is done in the classical guitar posture, the body between the legs. I do not feel her rhythm like I do Lace. Regardless, Tina S plays with more soul and I am excited to hear her, she is more like Stevie Ray Vaughn, not as much of a tight ass like Clapton.
    My preference is Tina S.
    On a positive note. These two performers need to unite across the Atlantic and form the next version of Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. RUclips's next job is finding a Singer Drummer and Bassist.

    It is amazing to watch and to listen to such heavenly talented young musicians of different styles and techniques working on the same theme and finding their own ways of Interpretations. My thanks for showing them both together. But the question of who is best is not the best one to find an answer for whom and why this music originally was Made for. The question is taking away the sende and deviating the thoughts of the viewers into critics which better should belong to a meaning everyone shall have on his own by feeling touched by the waves of sympathies and personal preferences.
    We all should be thankful that both artists were showing us something of things which can be just possible if you love whatever you do without any question in mind but only feeling the spirit and being one with the composition of grandmasters in the past.
    So it's really the best to see them all alive while the beat goes on.

    Alizee Defan, in the future please be more discreet on who you put side by side. Both Guitarists are good in their own right but it's like putting REO's Lead Guitarist Kevin Cronin against Yngwie Malmsteen. Discretion Madame.

    • @arttd001
      @arttd001 8 лет назад +2

      Exactly! Cronin Vs. Malmsteen... Hilarious, but oh so true! I'm sure Lauren is a nice young lady and all, and she's a quite good guitarist, but she took all kinds of shortcuts in this song. Not even playing the lead part every other measure! Tina played it (as she does on all sons she covers) note for note. 1:1. Exactly as played by the original artist. No shortcuts, no dropping out to the rhythm part every other measure, nada. Flat out blazing!

    • @AntaresVampire13
      @AntaresVampire13 8 лет назад +2

      REO's current Lead Guitarist is Dave Amato (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/REO_Speedwagon) Kevin Cronin plays Rhythm Guitar only. I would put former REO Guitarist Gary Richrath (1970 - 1989) up against Yngwie though. But I actually prefer Lauren, she captures the essence of the material much better.

    • @larrywharf1583
      @larrywharf1583 8 лет назад +1

      Ysee what I don't see is the point. Why would anyone want to do a note for note 1:1 copy of anything? The original's already out there. Either add something new to it or do something original.

    • @Smedis
      @Smedis 8 лет назад +4

      What's the point? Why does a classical pianist or orchestra play everything note for note 1:1? Why does sheet music even exist? Think about that for a second. ;) But more seriously, training enough to be able to play a variety of difficult music 1:1 hones your skills, and Tina S proves her insane skill over and over again.

    • @rogerreynolds467
      @rogerreynolds467 8 лет назад +1

      Niklas - You're absolutely correct. It's getting the detail correct when playing other's music. Once you've mastered that - THEN you can consider writing and playing your own music. VERY seldom do you find great composers who have NOT done the hard graft of studying their predecessor's works. (Even Mozart studied master-works from those who went before him)

    I have the feeling that Tina is the more accomplished artist but, I liked Lauren's rendition better. Perhaps if the production quality of Tina's video was equivalent to Lauren's it might tip the scale in Tina's favor.

    • @nickwaters1701
      @nickwaters1701 8 лет назад +1

      You should definitely choose Tina. Don't worry about the tone, listen to the melody and try watching other of Tina's videos. She's played more than just melodic shred, she's also done flat-picking and blues playing too.

    • @dnsmithnc
      @dnsmithnc 8 лет назад +2

      Nick Waters Oh yeah Nick. I have viewed several other videos featuring Tina. She is phenomenal. To me, she had the best interpretation of Comfortably Numb I have seen on the internet. But Tina often allows her virtuosity to prevail over the music leaving the listener amazed at the potential of the human body rather than moved by the music. At least that is my take on having listened to a number of her performances on RUclips. In this video here, I didn't think Tina did that but, I still like Lauren's performance better.

    • @stevewalkerentertainment
      @stevewalkerentertainment 8 лет назад +1

      sorry but Tina S is light years above and beyond Lauren and no chance of catching up

    • @nickwaters1701
      @nickwaters1701 8 лет назад

      dnsmithnc Lauren is great, but she stares at her fretboard. In fact, Tina even plays songs on the guitar without looking at her fingers or the fretboard a lot. In classical music, not only the classical music about melody or rhythm, it was about musical talent, skill, and technique. Do you only care about music and not talent? I care most likely about both music and skill. Music is music where it's good or not. Many listeners don't pay attention much to the melody because they think the notes that she plays an be too fast for them, but she does use musical soul by using melody and if the listeners would've payed close attention, then they would understand and they would be amazed by the melodies and skills she used. Tina wins and that's final.

    • @dnsmithnc
      @dnsmithnc 8 лет назад +2

      Nick Waters But my point is in your response. I am not concerned about her technique but, the music she produces. I have no doubt in the world that technically, Tina is far better generally. But, the quality of the sound, to my ears, is better with Lauren on this song. Your final summation is sheer arrogance. Tina wins and that is final? Bullshit.
